Product Description:

Updated and supplemented with a brand-new CD-ROM, this manual prepares dental school applicants across the United States and Canada to pass the required admissions test. The book opens with an overview of the DAT that includes test-taking advice, followed by a description of dental education and the practice of dentistry. A review of all DAT test topics is presented. They include general surveys of biology, chemistry, and organic chemistry, as well as testing for perceptual ability, reading comprehension, and quantitative reasoning. Two full-length model DATs complete this manual and come with all questions answered and explained. The DAT is a computerized test, and this book?s bonus CD-ROM presents two additional model DATs that simulate actual test-taking conditions. They come with automatic scoring.

1 out of 5 stars.  Embarrassment to the Dentists who put their names on it, March 1, 2010
It is handy to have all the information in one place but it is the wrong stuff! It is more than typos it is just plain bad writing and science. It really is an embarrassment for those who claim to be the authors.

2 out of 5 stars.  Full of typos, waste of money, December 25, 2009
This book is full of typos. The review sections are okay but I might as well have just studied my own notes and books. The sample tests are full of typos so it is hard to tell if I really got something wrong or if it's just a typo (some of the questions are even unanswerable because they don't make sense due to typos -- ex: one question asked about a bag of blue and green balls but the answer choices referred to red balls???). Due to this, I question the review sections and wonder if there are random typos/mistakes in there too. I bought it because it is cheap... but apparently that shows up in the bad editing of the book.

Fine book if you just want to see what type of info is on the DAT. But waste of money if you are really trying to study and take practice tests. I'd rather get something a little more expensive that will actually help me, especially considering the time/cost of everything else to get into dental school.

Save your money. Don't buy this book! It's full of errors and typos, especially in the math sections.

3 out of 5 stars.  errors..., July 15, 2009
This book has tons of mistakes...especially on the tests...it makes it difficult to calculate your score...but the only good thing about this book is that it is cheap, and you get exposed to more questions.
