| They work, and they take a little practice - which is doable | |
| | I like these. I have tried other systems (strips, washes, rinses, special toothpastes) and these do the job. I have a sensitive constitution and a lot of dental work, however, I had no gum sensitivity or bleeding of any kind -- and I am finicky. The gel takes some practice to master. You need to hold the tray to you teeth and spread the gel up and down, both to distribute it evenly and have a more satisfactory result, as well as to keep it in place. I leave them on for an hour, so as to get my money's worth and there has been no discomfort whatsoever. I do not want to have blue white teeth - just a whiter version of natural enamel and this achieves it.
When finished, I always brush my teeth to remove the gel - sometimes with the new foaming, whitening Aquafresh toothpaste and sometimes with food grade peroxide and baking soda, making a paste. It takes off all the residue and my teeth and gums feel clean and sterile. The flavor is pleasant, as well and there was no burning or aftertaste, whatsoever.
I cannot say that some people will not experience sensitivity, but since I have not, I was surprised and pleased. Some people will not finesse the 'installation' - patience and skill are required, but it beats having a dentist or specialist do it for many times the price, and the same result.

| | This product would work better if the trays stayed in place and the gel could spead over your teeth evenly.
I found even after five days the bottom tray hard to keep in place and most of gel going down my throat!
The whitening/pain ratio is about the same as Crest strips. I found minimal irritation with average results.
Please take back to the DRAWING BOARD for better results!
| | | This is the best otc whitening product I have ever used. It is effective, it doesn't cause major tooth sensitivity and it is convenient. My only complaint is that the bottom trays are too small.
Listen, I read all the reviews and I have to say that the folks giving this impassioned negative reviews don't seem to understand that some things work and some things don't depending on the person. I've tried most otc whitening products out there and this is, for me, the best one.
I hate Crest Whitestips. I abhor them. They hurt my teeth, burned my gums, bleached my fingers, made my mouth hurt for weeks and absolutely didn't work. BUT I know numerous people who love Crest Whitestips. Crest Whitestrips works for some people, doesn't work for others. I don't know why the Crest product doesn't work for me and Aquafresh trays do, but I do know that, as with any selection of products, you have to try out different kinds before you find what works for you.
If you're serious about bleaching: brush your teeth for a couple of weeks before hand, during, and after with sensodyne or a similar product to cut down on sensitivity. Consider using the trays or strips of your choice less than reccomended, ie once a day instead of twice. Don't brush your teeth right before or after using the product, wait at least an hour.
And to the crazy reviewers that are engraged about the product? Holy cow, take a breather! Return the item for a refund and try something else! Maybe you should see about valium infused whitening products next time.
