Great Detail on Acupuncture Points, March 20, 2012

I wanted a book that would explain in detail acupuncture points and their relationship to the whole body. This book, as small as it is, is packed with useful information. If you can survive the first chapter, which in my opinion, is too technical for the layperson, you will learn a lot from the rest of the book. Detailed diagrams of the human body showing the location of each meridian and their acupuncture points with description of how to locate each specific point. There are also suggested point combinations for specific disorders. If you are not fluent with the physiology of human anatomy, you will need a good biology book as a companion to this book for location of specific muscles, bones, vessels, organs, and nerves. Not as good as a first-person lesson, but enough to get you started with a basic understanding of how and why acupuncture works. Good book for a beginner.

Thorough Concise & Clear, September 14, 2009

I have only read the small amount of material this site lets us search, but what I read was concise & clear, & thorough in attention to detail. It will probably be my next acupuncture book purchase - certainly in the top 3. Thank you for writing it! We who need it salute you. Or in my case, I rattle my tongue. Wopila tanka! / Profound thanks!

A Very Satisfied "Customer"..., June 15, 2007

I know nothing of this book, but I can say this:
If, Dr. Harris Gellman is anything of an author, as he is a hand surgeon, then it must be really good work!
I was a patient of Dr. Gellman's, as a small baby! YES, I was less than two years old, back in 1992 when I received my first of several hand surgeries, performed by Dr. Gellman for reconstruction of my right hand, due to a birth anomaly!
My dad said he didn't like him very much as a personable individual, BUT on the other hand (no pun intended), he wouldn't take me to anyone else either! So, he must have done something pretty impressive to affect my dad in such a way, because my dad is the kind of person that simply won't do business with anyone he doesn't care for... at all... EVER!
Anyway, I just wanted to say... DR. GELLMAN... THANK YOU, SO VERY VERY MUCH!! I appreciate the work that you did for me at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, when I was a small boy.
Thanks again, Ian Bliven (age 16) formerly of L.A.
