5.0 out of 5 stars.  A Must Book for Dental Professionals, November 14, 2013
By Jim Tanaka
Ms. Valachi documented both clinical and scientific findings(research) in dealing with the musculoskeletal pain/syndrome which
is the primary cause of disability among the dental professional. She stresses that the musculoskeletal pain is work-related in that the cumulation of repetitive micro-traum caused by the repetitive strain, body movements awkward posturing contribute to the musculiskeletal disorders.
In my humble opinion, this is a must book for dental professionals in understanding, preventing and managing the musculoskeletal disorders which are the most common chronic pain and the primary cause of disability of dental professionals.
Kind regards,
Jim Tanaka DDS

Should be a required textbook for all entering the field, it is not all about the patient, the provider needs to learn self care !

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Get this book, read it, and use it!, May 11, 2011
By Tooth Fixr
I attended one of Ms. Valachi's seminars several years ago. This book should be required reading in all dental schools and once a year for all practitioners! Musculoskeletal imbalances are rampant in our profession, and chronic pain seems to be as well. This is the essential information to combat those issues.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good adjunct to attending her courses., May 09, 2011
By Dr. Kathy P. Welch (Macon, GA USA)
I found the additional material in the book to be helpful in fully understanding the content of her live C.E. courses.
She obviously has a good depth of knowledge in her field. I think the book is slightly overpriced but valuable.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A must for any dental professional who cares about more than their patient's teeth, December 07, 2008
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA)
Dentistry and Pain are related by people in a way that they would rarely expect- pain to the dentist. "Practice Dentistry Pain-Free: Evidence-Based Strategies to Prevent Pain and Extend Your Career" focuses on ergonomics for the Dentist, little known to non-dental professionals. In order to practice, a dentist is usually in an uncomfortable position, for potentially hours at a time. With tips on making one's dental practice more comfortable for oneself so that one's body isn't worn out before the Dentist's mind, "Practice Dentistry Pain-Free" is a must for any dental professional who cares about more than their patient's teeth.

This book was a lifesaver for me. The author's practical knowledge of working in a dental operatory gives her the unique ability to tailor advice for dentists and dental staff. This will add years to my practice!
