Product Description:

Veterans for cannabis, you can take this book to your physician. Typically, physicians were not educated about cannabis in medical school.

In addition, CBD researchers are also collectively building strong evidence of the following:

  1. CBD is anticancer.
  2. CBD lowers blood pressure.
  3. CBD promotes bone growth.
  4. CBD is antibacterial.
  5. CBD is anti-inflammatory.
  6. CBD suppresses muscle spasm.
  7. CBD reduces seizures.
  8. CBD is antianxiety.
  9. CBD is antioxidant.
  10. CBD relieves pain.
  11. CBD regulates blood sugar.
  12. CBD reduces autoimmune response.

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is overall "silent"; however, it becomes transiently active "on demand" to help with these primary ECS functions:

  1. RELAX — Reduction of pain and anxiety, modulation of body temperature, hormone production, smooth muscle tone, and blood pressure.
  2. SLEEP — Inhibition of motor behavior and sedation.
  3. FORGET — Extinction of adverse memories.
  4. PROTECT — Both at the cellular and emotional levels.
  5. EAT — Appetite-producing and reward-reinforcing effects.

Cannabinoid Classifications:

  1. ENDOCANNABINOIDS (endogenous cannabinoids): These are cannabinoids that occur naturally in the body. The two primary cannabinoids made by the body are:
    • (AE) N-arachidonoylethanolamine or "anandamide"
    • (2-AG) 2-arachidonoylglycerol
  2. PHYTOCANNABINOIDS (plant cannabinoids): Cannabinoids in plant form are called phytocannabinoids. They are derived from the cannabis plant from the leaves, flowers, stem, and seeds.
  3. SYNTHETIC (made in a lab): Non-botanical cannabinoids.
  4. PURIFIED Naturally occurring cannabinoids purified from plant sources.

Pain is stressful, and the body reacts by tensing muscle around that pain. Tensing one's muscles is usually an unconscious and habitual response to pain, which only makes the pain cycle worse. It can become an unconscious response.

Muscle tension further compounds the pain cycle by restricting blood flow to the tense and painful area. This in turn restricts oxygen and nutrients to the area to keep the tissue healthy.

This further compounds the problem by preventing metabolic waste from leaving the affected area. When lactic acid and other irritating metabolic waste build up due to lack of blood flow, the irritation from the metabolic acid waste causes what is called muscular "trigger points". The stress response is an autonomic nervous system response........

Because I am entering the cannabis world as a grower of CBD hemp, I want to know all I can to be able to tell people the benefits of CBD. I'll be 70 soon and have had many chronic pain issues caused by arthritis I have found taking CBD oil has helped me sleep better and has taken away my pain too. I have purchased several books so I can give them to my Dr's. So they won't be in the dark about how cannabis works and what CBD can do. Share this with everyone. Some of it is technical but the average person should be able to understand it.

The forward has some sound nuggets of information and many passages make you ponder the U.S. Government thought process regarding cannabis and while the author has been a strong advocate for medical cannabis, the book pretty much goes downhill after this.

Many typographical errors; the beginning chapters while the information is good, often doesn't explain concepts specific to cannabis so if you already didn't know the information, you wouldn't fully understand what was being imparted. To understand Chapter five, you almost need a degree in chemistry. The remaining chapters expand on pain and treatment for illiness previously introduced.

All this to say, if you have the extra money, buy the book but if you don't then you might want to pass on this one.
