4.0 out of 5 stars.  Not just for Triathlons.....for all activities in life., October 4, 2007
By js058515 (Los Angeles, CA USA)
I am new this year to the Triathlon world and this book has helped me in my training more than anything besides hiring a personal coach. The programs are easy to follow and take approx 30 minutes to complete each day. You can choose whatever exercise you want to tailor it to your needs. I was never into stretching until I started this "guide". Now I understand why stretching and core strength are important in a Triathlete as well as in life. I give it 4 stars only due to the fact that it took me a while to figure out which exercise was what. Other than that if your looking to prepare for a Triathlon or even just want to get fit in approx 30 min a day, then this book will help you.

A well-written, organized triathlon program designed for beginner or advanced athletes of any age, which highlights health benefits, safe training methods and assessments. The flexibility and strength assessments are detailed and illustrated to perform the exercises correctly! TriPower pieces together all the integral components to train for a triathlon. This will help me tremendously as I prepare for my next triathlon, and as I train clients for their 1st triathlon!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  not really a book, it's a guide, August 30, 2007
By Slammer (Denver, CO USA)
most of the current triathlon books don't seem to put much emphasis on strength and flexibility training. this book fills that gap.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Must have, April 2, 2009
By Jason (Bellevue, WA)
So I'm 37 now and competed in triathlons for 12 years before taking a few years off due to 3 small children (well, my wife actually had them...). I started using this book because i had gained some weight and I was worried about injury. Not only did this book help me get mileage back up injury free - but I'm going faster than I ever have before. MOST IMPORTANTLY: If you follow the book, it doesn't take a ton of time. As someone who is time constrained - I can do this program in the evenings at home. 2x/week it takes 20 min. 3x/week it takes 5-10 min. For the past 12 weeks I was running only (no swimming except occassional cross train). I finished my half marathon and am now going into core tri-training. I got back in the pool this week and WAS FASTER than when I was swimming 3x/week - I believe because of the strength/core training. MUST HAVE!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A Balanced Plan, February 16, 2009
By John M. Flynn
TriPower is a fantastic plan for both men and women to achieve balance, build core strength and stay injury free during tri training. Power in all 3 sports comes from proper form and technique, and the program outlined here supports and balances out all 3 sports. Balanced strength training is the key to not getting injured, and this book more than any other i found achieves the best balance you can get.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  TriPower, October 31, 2008
By Dale (Michigan)
My husband and I are in our 50's and have worked with many of the exercises in TriPower. The information in this book has helped us learn more about the importance of stretching. We don't participate in triathlons but we exercise on a daily basis. TriPower has helped us tone, strengthen and build muscle. Stretching is a very big part of exercising and many people do not take the proper time to stretch before and after exercising. TriPower explains each exercise and teaches the correct way to perform it.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Waste of money, December 16, 2008
By A. Mager (Amarillo, TX)
I was highly disappointed with this purchase and felt like I just threw away fifteen bucks. There is nothing in this book that anybody who has any experience at all in the gym, would not already know. I'm not even sure that a complete novice would benifit any from this book. I immediately gave it to my tri club to use as a give-away/door prize. Or maybe somebody could use it to start a fire. Tried to give it zero stars, but the website wouldn't let me.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Bridge to understanding, August 19, 2009
By WellnessDoc
This book is a terrific overall fitness reference. If more people trained and stretched to improve total body function using this book, we would see a rapid decline in chronic pain and disease.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Tripower, February 11, 2010
By rascal (Canada)
I have been training triathletes and made a mistake buying this book. This is basic knowledge, nothing new, nothing to add to the information out there. If you are doing your own program and this is new information, then this is the book for you, if you have a background in training and understand the basics of core and strength save your money.
