TeXes SpEd ec-12, June 23, 2011

This is a great book for anyone wanting to be TX certified in this area. The content is easy to follow and is very informative. I would strongly recommend having prior certifications before trying to take this exam/read the book because so much of the info can be referenced by other certifications/teaching areas. For example, it is beneficial to know about the teaching field in general before getting this book so that you can make study notes along side the books content. There are also some typos in my copy of the book and only 1 of the study questions in the back did not match the competency it stated. I have used this type of book for my other 2 certification areas and have passes both times!

Not study material, April 13, 2011

This book had a lot of typos in it. Some of the questions were not even finished; they were left dangling in mid sentence. Some of the 'references to certain skills did not match'. I would not recommend it for a good study guide.

typos detract from meaning, October 7, 2010

I purchased this book when I was transferring licenses from another state to Texas. I was astounded by the number and types of errors. I even used one paragraph with a student as an example of a flawed paragraph. Sentences just stop, paragraphs merge, and incorrect word forms are used ("aid" for "aide" for example). I couldn't make heads nor tails of one practice test question.
I thought I had bought a draft copy by mistake, but now it seems this was the form they released. I see this same brand's guides for other subjects in the book store, and I"m shocked that people apparently trust it. Maybe the other subject books are better, but I'll make sure not to buy another one from Xam. Just stunning.

Great condition and arrived fast, September 28, 2011

This book was very useful in studying for the Special Education exam. It might have some type-o's but nothing major. It is easy to read and great for note taking and studying. I have used this company before and passed the exam on the first try. I would recommend double checking the ansewr key to the practice test on back. Every test booklet I have purchased for these TExES exams has had at least one wrong answer and usually its easy to pick out.
