Must have, January 4, 2007

I used this with our Radio Flyer bike- had to attach directly to plastic seat, but so worth it!!! Our son loves going on walks through town on it and he's safely secured to the seat.

Seatbelt, December 21, 2007
By Mom4two (San Diego, CA)

This product is fairly easy to attach to the seat;however, if you try to put it on after the trike is already assembled, you have to remove the seat in order to attach it.

Great idea from Kettler . . ., September 8, 2008
By Mom of Kangaroo and Moose

When we first bought the air navigator, our then 2 year old kept trying to get off the trike - and we walk around on lots of city streets. So, we ordered a seat belt, which was very easy to put on. The seat belt keeps him on the trike, thus making us feel a little safer knowing he cannot get off and bolt into the street.
Please do not turn your back even with the seat belt affixed the the seat and your child. The belt is a nice safety feature, but really is a mere deterrent for your little escape artist :)

Great seatbelt!, August 31, 2009
By busy mom (San Diego)

|
This is an awesome little 3 point harness seatbelt that makes it possible for our 12-month-old to enjoy his new triclycle!
It holds him very securely in the seat and even seats him in a better position toward the back of the seat so that his feet do not drag on the ground (he is a little too small to reach the pedals yet and doesn't quite get that he needs to pick up his feet!) It was extremely easy to install and can easily be removed or reinstalled as necessary (second siblings, etc.) It was definitely worth it!

Exactly What We Needed, August 15, 2009
By Busy Mom (Belleville, IL)
|
|
This seatbelt worked out great for our 18 mo old on a Radio Flyer Ultimate Steer & Stroll trike. We didn't find a need for the center strap. The belt keeps her from sliding off the seat and also from jomping off when we are still moving. This seatbelt allows us to stroll around the neighborhood with our little girl in something more active than a stroller.
The self tapping screws worked perfectly and the strap and fasterners are good quality.

Absolute must have for little ones, July 3, 2007
By San Francisco Citizen (San Francisco, CA, USA)

I live in a big city and can't imagine my 18 month old (when she got this trike, now 21 month old) riding her trike without her seatbelt on. Big time peace of mind for mommy, especially when sleepy child is throwing a fit but doesn't manage to flop out of the trike in a crosswalk.

Good in Theory, May 15, 2009
By Angela M. Amann
|
|
We purchased the Kettler 3-point harness seatbelt for our daughter's Radio Flyer tricycle after reading that it was compatible.....however when we received it, it could not be used as a 3-point harness seatbelt without making additional cuts & holes in the tricycle seat. Good idea to make a seatbelt, but Radio Flyer needs to make one that fits their tricycles.

great seat belt for any tricycle, January 8, 2011
By family man

|
We put this seatbelt on our Radio Flyer tricycle. Works perfectly. Easy to install. As long as your seat is a plastic seat you can simply screw the seatbelt to the seat. All pieces necessary are included. We are very pleased with the purchase.

Have had this bike for 8 yrs!, January 4, 2011
By S. Plants

I have had the Kettler trike for about 8 years.. I got it, with the attached 2nd person part for my first 2 kids... its about to be handed down to the 4th kid and looks just as good as the day we got it. The one thing I had to replace was the seatbelt for one of the seats... not because the product failed but because my stupid dog chewed it off. So, the product is fantastic. Easy to use...the strap is so easy to install. Totally worth the investment seeing as how four kids will use it and then someone else will enjoy it and it will be fine for as long as its not treated poorly. That is how products should be made... made to last, to be passed down. I appreciate a good product and this is it!

Saved an injury., June 17, 2009
By PCGuy (Boston, MA)

This was certainly worth the expense. The first day out on my son's new air navigator, the right rear wheel literally fell off. The clip that holds it on was now fully engaged from the factory. Had he not had this seat belt he would have fallen enough and landed on the sidewalk. Even though he is a little bigger now, I still use this seat belt everyday.

Kettler Harness, May 27, 2007
By Park's Mom (The Midwest)
|
|
This was very easy to install on our Kettler Supertrike2. It is durable, strong and wipes clean easily. The price could be a few dollars lower, but I was happy to pay for extra safety and peace of mind when my son is on his tricycle. I'm glad that these are available for the younger trike riders.

Keeps the little guy in place., March 23, 2007
By K. Harmon (Illinois)
|
|
My 15 month old son received a Kettler tricycle as a gift from a family friend. The tricycle is wonderful, the only problem we ran into is keeping my son on the bike. After visiting Kettler's website I found the seatbelt attachment. The seatbelt attaches easily to the molded seat and keeps my little guy in place. We use the trike daily now that the weather is nice and have plans to bring it along t the zoo instead of the stroller. The seatbelt assures me that my son will stay on the trike and allows us more use of the trike. Great product and highly recommended.

Adequate, but not exceptional, January 9, 2010
By John (Alexandria, VA)
|

First, this should be included with the purchase of any trike. Raise the price of the trike, and include this, because no small child should be learning to ride a trike without some sort of restraint system.
Second, the seatbelt isn't simple to install...and it's even more difficult to attach if you have already assembled the entire trike. Lesson learned.
Third, how about some slightly more detailed instructions? I mean, I consider myself a fairly smart individual, but
I felt like I needed a PhD in deciphering poorly written "instructions" (pictures, really) just to make sure that I got this right. And how about the couple of spare parts that are for a different model bike? Might want to mention that in the instructions.

Does not fit all tricycles, May 1, 2009
By A. Howard

This seatbelt/harness was advertised as a 'frequently bought together' item to go with the Radio Flyer Fold 2 Go XL Trike. However, it does NOT adjust to fit. Please be aware so you don't make the same mistake.

Functional but needs improvment, February 2, 2009
By Chris H. (Eastern PA)
|
|
I purchased this seatbelt/harness for use on my son's kettrike tricycle. It's design is functional but unfortunately, a little too simple. Instead of having a clasp on the center belt (the one that comes up from the center/bottom of the seat) into which the individual horizontal belts could connect to, the center belt has a loop in the end that you must thread the horizontal belts through. When Jr. wants to ride his fancy new tricycle and your still fumbling with the harness, things can get ugly. Lastly, this belt is made in China unlike the tricylce itself which was also dissapointing.

MUST HAVE, July 21, 2008
By tech junkie (SAN MATEO, CA United States)

This is a must have since my kid is only 13 months old. He loves the trike, but Kettler should include this with their $200 trike! Paying $200 for the trike and then another $20 for the seat belt is ridiculous.

kettler trike seat belt, November 23, 2010

This seat belt is a must. We bought it to use with the second seat attachment to the Kettler trike. It's perfect, but really it should have been included when the seat was purchased as part of the price.

This belt is a perfit fit for a kettler tricycle. It keeps my 15 month old safe while we push him in his new tricycle. I had to take the seat off to install the seat belt. It took a bit of force to install, but works great!

Must have for wiggly toddlers, September 14, 2008
By Amy in CA (Mountain View, CA USA)
|
|
We got this seatbelt to use on our daughter's new Air Navigator tricycle we gave her for her 2nd birthday. Since she's still a little small for the tricycle, we use it every time she rides to keep her from sliding forward off the seat as she tries to reach the pedals. And when walking to the park, it's good that she can't wiggle off the side as well. I wish it was included with the tricycle, but well worth the additional $$ to keep the child in place and safe.

Kettler Quality AS Usual!, January 13, 2007
By L. Huang (Los Altos, CA)
|
|
Ordered the harness for my one year-0ld grandson who got the Air Navigator trike for his first birthday. It works very well and is very secure once child is buckled into seat. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because the installation was a bit difficult and involved standing on your head so to speak. It was well worth it though!

I was hoping someone out there may know the answer to my question. Will this seatbelt fit Radio Flyer trikes or only Kettlers? I would really appreciate any help.

I bought my daughter the tricycle with push bar so she can grow into it. It did not come with a seat belt so I bought this one. I left the strap between the legs off as it wouldn't fit right. But the belt is perfect and keeps her in place.
