Easy to use, easy to remove, easy to replace. Bookmarks, notes, etc., September 10, 2005

These index tabs (or tablets as they seem to call them) are simply marvelous.
They come in packs of three different colors: red, yellow, blue; orange, green, pink. Perhaps there are others, and then, color combinations are possible if you decide to go with only the primary colors.
They generally do not tear pages if you remove them after a long period of time unless the page is sub-paper thin, like in a prayer book for instance that has pages that are practically transparent.
The tabs are sturdy and can be written on using a ball point pen.

Exellent - they work great as bookmarks, March 31, 2011
By Ali Julia (boston, mass)

I use (and re-use) them to mark the references I work with. When I find a place I need to come back to, these tabs work great as they do not fall out. They remain sticky for a long time, so I have used the same set for different references.
Before this product I used pieces of paper, and sometimes they would fall out and I would lose time finding that spot again. A piece of paper, however, had one advantage, I could write one or two words to help me find the right tab quickly. I tried writing on these tabs, but it does not work as well as paper. Here is a product enhancement idea: make them more pen friendly!

ink smears, July 19, 2010
By Mike Maddux (Austin, TX United States)

Does anyone have a suggestion for what type of pen to use to avoid smeared ink? I tried a regular ballpoint and a felt tip. Can't read what I wrote!

Great idea, October 7, 2011

These heavy duty labels are a great idea. I use them as separator tabs in binders, not to mark excerpts of a paper and they really work.

Strong tabs, February 28, 2010
By N. Krishnan
|
|
These tabs are pretty sturdy. I use them as file tabs, since the clip-on tabs that came with my hanging folders kept falling off.
However, it is difficult to find a good pen to write on them. It works better if you use a Sharpie. I haven't tried removing the tabs after attaching, so I can't comment on how cleanly it comes off.

Thrilled with the versitality, February 20, 2010
By M. Wolf (Pacific NW)

I just love these things! I have ordered several of them and use them for a variety of reasons.
I keep a few on the note pad I use in meetings and use them to flag items that I need to address outside of the meeting. Unlike other flags these are duable and do not bend or easily fall off even when my pad is thrown in the bottom of my bag or when the flags are lifted off and repositioned time and time again (typically after about 8 to 10 repositions the sticky becomes less secure).
I keep this in my shopping cart and watch for a price change that I am willing to pay.

Handy Removable Color Tabs - Highly Recommended, February 14, 2010
By CFH (Blue Ridge Summit, PA USA)
|
|
Theses "Post-It Index File Tabs" are great little labels that come in a clever plastic dispenser. There are 66 labels, 22 each of Red, Yellow, and Blue. The sticky labels are easy to write on with pen or pencil and, while they stay put when placed, they are removable making them great for use as bookmarks.
These are really handy labels that we have found dozens of uses for around the house and in our small business. Oh, and you certainly can use them to label files too (and we do).
Highly Recommended!

Great New Design, February 26, 2009
By Melissa McCauley (North Little Rock, AR)

I work in a CPA office, and we go through a zillion of these little flags at tax time. We have tried many brands, and Post-It makes the best, hands down. (The cheaper brands do very annoying things like lift the toner off the paper or tear the paper when removed) I was intrigued by the new dispenser design this year, but now that I've seen it in action *I LOVE IT*. The bottom has a rubber pad that acts like a suction cup and grips the table top so that you can pull the flag one-handed. Buy these - even if they are more expensive - they are totally worth it!
Update 3/2010 - After using these for a year I can safely say they are THE BEST FLAGS ON THE MARKET! You can't appreciate how much time is saved by one-handed flag-pulling until you've done it a couple thousand times.

Retaliation Purchase, March 30, 2010
By But I'm feeling much better now... (Chicago, IL United States)
|
|
I bought these mostly just to prove how stupid to put a two dollar item in a Quick Pick. With Prime shipping, the net profit was in the red by a few dollars.
But, I actually like them, and would buy more if they came in more colors and larger quantities (less per piece cost.) They're great for bookmarking technical books by subject, but really limited by the color selection. If I could buy boxes of 50 or 100 of 10 different colors I'd jump on them.
Amazing how 3M just makes a few useful products, and makes them well, isn't it?

good price, good product; satisfied customer, April 14, 2012
By Vedant Desai
|
|
I bought these on Amazon to avoid the unreasonably high markup on the exact same product in retails stores (CVS, supermarket, etc). I received exactly what was advertised, and fit my needs perfectly. The only potential downside to the product is the dispenser. I don't particularly like the way the tabs are dispensed, but it's more of a personal preference thing.
They're resilient to re-use, brightly colored, very sticky, easily removable, appropriately sized for 8.5x11 pages, easy to use, and competitively priced (not reasonable, since I don't understand why sticky pieces of plastic are so expensive anyways, but the cheapest option available none-the-less).
If I need more, I will be buying them here.

No Compromises, February 22, 2012
By John T (Fairfield, CA)

I purchased these tabs to mark pages of multiple books for my licensing examination. They have held up to a lot of torture (moving books back and forth to work and home), and they still look great. These tabs hold up to a lot more wear and tear compared to their flimsy brethren (Post-itŪ Flags, 1 Inch, Ideal For Marking & Flagging Paper Documents, Asstorted Colors, 50 per Dispenser, Four Dispensers per Pack, BONUS Durable IndexTabs). They basically feel like thin plastic as opposed to flimsy paper. They also do not bend as easily if you accidentally push them into a wall or knock into them. They are available in different colors (Post-it Durable IndexTabs, 1-Inch, Ideal For Binders and File Folders, Assorted Bright Colors, 66 Per Dispenser), but they cost more for some reason (at least they did at the time of this review). They were a great buy!
Side note: If you want to write on them with long term and smudge free results, I recommend buying Sharpie permanent markers (Sharpie 37001 Ultra Fine Point Permanent Markers, Black (Box of 12)). The tabs are also easy to write on with pencil and most pens, but only Sharpie markers are worth while. I used a "permanent" non-Sharpie marker originally, and all of the text smeared right off. The headache was not worth saving a few dollars on cheaper markers.

Sturdy flags, February 18, 2012
By Amazonian
|
|
These are the best index flags I've used. They are very sturdy and writable. You need to use a Sharpie instead of an ink pen. There are some manuals that I need to reference frequently for my job so I tab the pages I frequently look at. They are also easy to take off without damaging the page.

Just what you'd expect, February 13, 2012
By C. Morris (Maryland)
|
|
You can put them on, write on them, take them off, put them on something else. They're great! I don't really like just sticking post-it flags in textbooks I'll be referencing a lot because you can't tell what's on the page. This way, you can write a little note, and you're good. White-out when the semester's over, and re-stick them. A must-have for organizationally-obsessive law students!

Worth The Price If You are Building a Reference Binder or Textbook, December 14, 2011
By mikecart1 (Pittsburgh, PA)

These are great. They are a little expensive but they are worth it if you are studying for a big exam like a PE Exam (Professional Engineering Exam) or some other type of test where you will need tabs to flip through quickly on exam day. They are also good for reference books or binders you use a lot and need to find info quickly. Solid, durable, and easy to write on with a permanent marker.

not for delicate pages, December 7, 2011
By call it apathy

i use these to mark chapters or rules in my law text book which are printed on very delicate paper so when i take them off at the end of the semester sometimes they tear the pages. however, they do stay put and are very easy to write on and do not bend.

If you are a student, YOU NEED THESE!!!, November 23, 2011
By P. Wood (NOLA)
|
|
I am a student who hates having to page through a textbook over and over to find the same information. These tabs are the solution. They hold up very well, and are almost perfect. The one shortcoming of these tabs (and this is the ONLY thing I could complain about) is that they are difficult to write on without smearing. However, I have found that writing with Sharpie Pens Sharpie Pen Fine Point Pen, 6 Colored Pens (1751690), and waiting until they dry well enough to handle them works very well. This might take about 15 minutes, honestly, but it won't run after that. I readily give it five stars, and would seriously recommend it to other students.
