| It's TRASH once the batteries die | |
| | The good things I liked about this brush you can read in all the other reviews. When it works, it does well at reducing stains tartar and plaque. BUT....I think giving instructions that the batteries can be replaced is a SCAM!!! (I bet the most successful people who could change the batteries are the people who work for PHILIPS and have "special" tools provided by their employer so they can tell us how easy it is to change the batteries). I followed the instructions in the book with a flat head screwdriver and immediately the handle cracked in four pieces!!! Not only that, the sharp edges put gashes all over my hands and I bled profusely. Once I took care of that problem, I found that the batteries were stuck to the handles on the inside. There was no good reason for the batteries to stick because the batteries just stopped working two days before I tried to change them. It never gave me the warning beeps that it was a low battery. Plus the batteries have wires attached to them. I have changed batteries in many things from remote controls, cameras, watches, computers and heating thermostats. There is no need for this to have been designed so obnoxiously complicated. It was merely designed this way so you would HAVE TO buy another one. Hey, my teeth are very, very, important to me but not important enough to sacrifice my hand for it. So I will look around for another brand. PHILIPS should be honest and tell people that it is a DISPOSABLE toothbrush. Batteries die and you have to buy a new one. And they should lower the price because it is disposable. At the price I paid for this you should be simply able to change batteries. This brush lasted only a couple of years and I'm probabl lucky it lasted that long. In this economy, I can't take the risk that another one might last only 2 months for what they charge. Shame on you PHILIPS for cheating people.

| | I bought this to replace my older model and am happy with the product. I thought buying a newer version would remedy the problems. There are a few issues with the fact that even if I clean the inside of the toothbrush head, it still collects bacteria there and this seems to be an issue of design of the product. It works great and the charge lasts a long time, but it's not very portable and again, the bacteria issue is something that needs to be resolved.

| | I can't live without this toothbrush. Once I used this, I didn't want to try any others. It has a 2 minute timer for brushing your teeth. I change the brush every 6 months. I found my gums don't get sore any more as a bonus. And when I go to the dentist for checkups, cleaning is easier.
| | | I have used a Phillips sonicare for about 10 years now and was very pleased to be able to order a new on to match the one I wore out. I have been very satisfied with the reports I get at the Denist since I began using the Sonicare

| | Keep it on the charger and have it always plugged in and charging. Dry it with a towel after use, place it back on the charger stand. Keep it where it will stay dry. Mine is like brand new. I love this Sonicare. I received it as a gift in 2001.
