Well worth it if you have the TS-2 stand, April 16, 2009

If you don't plan on mounting the TS-2 stand to either your own base, or your workbench, you should get this plastic stand. Without it the Park Tool TS-2 Professional Wheel Truing Stand flops around with a wheel in it and will not be easy to work with.
I suppose it should just come with the TS-2 stand but, Park sells a lot of shop tools to, gasp! actual bicycle shops and they tend to mount their truing stands to a workbench and wouldn't need this. As a home bike repair person you should buy it.

Yes it does belong with the TS-2! And you should buy it!, July 13, 2010

The base-mount works very well and having the spoke wrench slots as well as the small parts bins make it extra special.
I like mounting this base to a workbench. Only $30 more to make your TS-2 fully functional. If you want something fancier, be prepared to drop $500 for a VAR!
You get what you pay for. Cheapskates can build their own!

Belongs with the TS-2, January 31, 2010

This base was designed to be used with the TS-2 and should be included as a standard feature of the truing stand, not as a $30+ option. Until I added the base the stand seemed incomplete and awkward. Together they mesh into a nicely functioning tool.
Some users wouldn't need the base but it's simple enough to remove, I expect most would use it if it was integral with the purchase of the TS-2.
Offering the TSB-2 as a separate option strikes me as a bit of a money grab on the part of Park Tools.
It does work wonderfully though, with the tilt feature and slots and trays for spoke tools, etc.

Completes the stand., September 12, 2010

I was having trouble using the truing stand without this so I went ahead and bought it. I would seems reasonable to provide it with the stand because you would use it much more often than naught. Regardless, once I had this item I was able to use my truing stand trouble free with storage areas included for spoke wrenches and parts bins for various items. Love it!

Great base, February 3, 2012

I put this base on Parks Pro truing stand and what a huge difference it made in being able to adjust angles and views to get the wheel true. Fantastic base that makes using the truing stand tremendously easier.
I would highly recommend this for the Parks Pro truing stand.

Works as stated, January 27, 2012

Without the base, truing wheels is difficult because the truing stand does not stay balanced on it's own. I don't even really need to bolt the base to a table. Works great as is.

Must buy for truing stand., October 10, 2011

This should be sold with the truing stand. Building and truing wheels would be much more cumbersome without it. Great product, ok price.

Pretty Cool Stand, May 25, 2012

I bought the TS2 and thought bloody hell, this thing is HEAVY! I had an old Minoura that was 1/3rd the weight as the TS2 and could stand on it's own, but the TS2 needs help. As heavy as the TS2 is, this stand works perfectly.
