Pretty good buckle tie-downs, July 21, 2009
By Michael A. Duvernois (Minneapolis, MN United States)

These are a lot better quality than the previous set that I had. Those were bought on the cheap at a chain auto parts store. One of the buckle ratchets cracked the 3rd or 4th time I used them. These have held up for a dozen or so uses so far with no signs of trouble. If you don't need them right away, wait and look for a sale, about 1/2 off the usual price.

Good enough, but not great, August 14, 2011

Decent quality for the price and works well for strapping or holding down loads. Better quality (higher priced) cam buckles have a smoother pull on the one-way free direction for pulling the strap tight. With this product you need to push down the retainer cam slightly to pull.
Not a major issue.

Made it through an 11,000 mile road trip, January 22, 2011
By O. Greene (San Francisco, CA)

These things work great. They held up through an 11,000 mile US road trip, keeping a soft roof bag strapped tightly to my car. The hooks fit well under the lip of the wheel well in the back. Attaching them in other places wasn't quite as easy, and though the hooks are fairly versatile, they can slip even though they're rubberized. A textured surface on the hooks might have been better. Still it's a small negative. The only other issue was that one of them began to fray a bit after lots and lots of tighten/loosen cycles (60 or so days worth). This was mostly because the tension angle was not fully parallel to the tightening mechanism, so the strap would get caught in the edge of it. Not exactly a bad design, just something to watch out for. Overall they performed very well in a demanding and high use situation, and I expect to get lots more good use out of them.
