  • Coded transmitter and belt set for Polar heart rate monitors
  • Seamlessly adapts to body shape for superior comfort
  • Side-clip mechanism for easy on/off and secure fit
  • Anti-bacterial soft textile material is machine-washable
  • Coded to eliminate interference from other monitors; size XXS
Product Description:
Polar WearLink is the first and only soft transmitter. The WearLink combines Superior Polar Technology with a fabric design. The electrodes, which pick up the heart's signal, are engineered right into the fabric strap.
Comfort is key when training. That's why Polar created the Polar WearLink+ coded transmitter, which not only measures your heart rate, but also seamlessly adapts to your body shape so you feel as though it's not even there. The transmitter consists of an electrode strap and a connector, with a new side-clip mechanism keeping the belt secure. The WearLink+'s soft textile material, meanwhile, feels just like a piece of clothing on the skin. And when you're done with your workout, you can remove the anti-bacterial transmitter and throw the textile strap directly into the washing machine. Compatible with all Polar heart rate monitors, this version of the transmitter--which is coded to eliminate interference from other heart rate monitors nearby--is sized extra-extra small and comes with a user-replaceable battery.

About Polar
The first EKG accurate wireless heart rate monitor was invented by Polar back in 1977 as a training tool for the Finnish National Cross Country Ski Team. The concept of "intensity training" by heart rate swept the athletic world in the eighties. By the 1990s, individuals were looking to heart rate monitors not only for performance training needs, but also for achieving everyday fitness goals. Today, the same concept of heart rate training is being used by world-class athletes as well as everyday people trying to lose weight. Polar is the leading brand among consumers, coaches, and personal trainers worldwide and the company is committed to not only producing the best products, but also being the leading educator on the benefits of heart rate based exercise.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A lot More Comfortable and Less Expensive in the Long Run, August 1, 2006
By The Automation and Control Guy

One big improvement from the original transmitters (T31 or T61 transmitters) is that with this model (the Wearlink) you only have to buy a new battery and replace it once they ran out and your transmitter is ready to use again. With the original ones you have to buy a new transmitter every time the battery dies, since the whole structure is sealed. So if your Polar wrist watch came with the T31 or T61, wait until the battery is finished and buy the Wearlink transmitter instead, you will save a lot of money over the years (compare the 39.95 US$ that the T31 or T61 cost vs the cost of a replacement battery).

The other big advantage is that the Wearlink transmitter is more confortable to wear, since it adapts better to the shape of your body since even the electrodes are flexible and are embedded in the fabric. Being flexible and all makes it easier to storage it your pocket when your finish training or if you are traveling.

In summary a great product for your Polar HRM, and a smart improvement if it is time to replace your old transmitter. Don't buy another T31 or T61, buy this one instead.

I run with my Polar six days a week, and probably train about ten hour a week with it. I used to have the T31 with my first Polar (the M61) so I can tell you first hand the Wearlink is far better. In summary more confortable, easier to wash, and a money saver. I was more than happy to trow the old one away after I bought this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Please check your size!, November 4, 2008
By Shayananna (Portland, OR United States)
This is a fantastic Heart Rate strap for multi-purpose exercisers. Because the unit is so small, and user servicable for batteries, it is unlikely to be a problem for most people to use it for years. The only reason I have to take a star away is clarity of sizeing. The Med-XL band states that it is for 27" - 54"; the XS-S labels itself for 22" - 32". My measurement is 30"; so in theory I could use either band; but in reality, I'm about as large as you can go on the XS-S band; if you truly were trying to wear it as a 31.5" range, it would be performing chest compression; not just measuring your heart rate. If you really have a 31" or above span that you need to cross, do yourself a favour, and get the larger band!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great transmitter, April 10, 2007
By A. Hensley (Wake Forest, NC United States)
This is much more comfy than the band that came with my heart rate monitor watch. I strap it on and the equipment at my gym picks it up. I'm very pleased. I'm a 5'9 woman and weigh 145lbs and this size is right at the edge of being too small. I'd say it was a perfect fit.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Works well but belt is not as comfortable as my previous one, June 24, 2009
By Texann (Houston, TX)
I had the previous model of the Polar transmitter and belt to go with my Polar S625X Heart Rate Monitor and enjoy using them all regularly.

Recently the battery ran out. Although you are supposed to be able to open the back with a coin and change the battery, after a couple of years' wear and it not being opened, it was well and truly stuck and any coin we tried just tore up the plastic cover (if they could design a slot to take a screwdriver that might be better).

So I ordered this latest one to replace it. My rib cage measures 30" around and I'm a small-framed woman and, in the absence of any measurement guidelines, I guessed that the larger belt would be designed for large, muscular men, so I ordered a xs-s. It's almost too tight though so I think I should perhaps have ordered the large one after all.

For anyone who is also renewing their belt: The belt I had before, worked by clicking each end onto either side of the of the back of the transmitter (ie the transmitter acted as the clip to hold the belt around you). This belt has the transmitter clipped onto one part of it (so you don't have to unclip it when you take the belt off) and it has a separate hook to fasten the belt around you. Unfortunately the adjustable buckle part of the belt digs into my rib cage and the hook flap/cover is a bit irritating. Luckily the transmitter is exactly the same design as the one I had before so I'm just using it with my old belt.

My one final thought is that I should probabaly open the battery cover of my new transmitter on a regular basis, so that when I need to change the battery, there's a chance that I'll be able to get to it this time.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great for the Gym, January 28, 2008
By QVC Junkie (Alaska!)
I have a heart rate monitor I use with my gps when I run outside, but I needed an option for the gym when the weather is bad. I'm loving this. Because it's stretchy it's more comfortable then my regular one. It's awesome to get my heartrate at the gym without having to keep my hands in one place (a girl has to wipe sweat off once in a while), and also some equipment doesn't read well. This solves all of that, if your gym's equipment reads Polar, as mine does.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fantastic!, March 25, 2007
By Jump Higher (Michigan)
I bought the WearLink chest strap to use with my original Polar Heart Rate Monitor. I cannot believe how great this chest strap is. It fits perfectly. Its all fabric/elastic strap fits perfectly -- it hugs every contour and moves with me -- never losing contact, so I don't lose my HR read, even while doing planks or push-ups, etc. It's like another piece of clothing. And ... you can change the battery yourself. It works with all Polar models. I am thrilled with it!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Much, much better than my previous Transmitter!, September 23, 2010
By Hope D R (Dominican Republic)
The transmitter that came with my Polar M61 got all kinds of interference from: any other transmitter around, i-pods, and any other device close by... When I was fine following my cardio-transmitions during my exercices, zum! the numbers went wild, or just went zero! The little metal pieces for attaching my old transmitter to the wearlink got broken (after about 3 years of use, and I have to admit that probably it wouldn't have happened if I had taken better care of this transmitter, as per instructions...). So, I got a new transmitter (Polar wearlink+ Coded Transmitter and Belt Set), with the wearlink included (it seems the transmitters only are sold along with the wearlink).

Now I have to say that I am glad the previous transmitter broke! This new transmitter is much better in avoiding interference from other devices! Yes, it gets from time to time some little interference; eventhough it's little, it must be counted as such. I don't know if having to work in "team" with an older watch has to do with this, so keep in mind that my watch is much older, and I didn't purchase it along with my current transmitter.

Ah, something very important! The old wearlink... it is the kind that will attach by both of it's ends to the transmitter, meaning that the back of the transmitter will have to be always in contact with the owner's skin (and salty moisture, etc.). The new wearlink (that came along with my new transmitter) is different, because the place to attach the transmitter is located on the front of the wearlink. What I mean is that when I place my transmitter where it goes, the transmitter never gets into direct contact with my skin, because the wearlink is between the transmitter and me.

The wearlink "closes" around my chest with a little rectangular hook, in a way that the hook is at one side of my chest (thus, easily managed for putting on or taking off), and also has a little piece of rectangular fabric on one end of the wearlink that I flap under the hook, in a way that the hook won't get in contact with my skin.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfortable and Easy to Use, June 21, 2011
By Sandra L. Graybeal
Purchased the WearLink+ to replace an old T31 chest strap - love the new one so much more! First of all the XS-S size fits me better than the M-XL that came with the watch. My rib cage measures 27" (size 32 bra band). Even though I keep the strap on the looser side, I still have room to lengthen the strap if needed. Secondly, the WearLink+ transmitters pick up my heartrate a lot faster; haven't had to wet the sensors or anything. Thirdly, the WearLink+ is more comfortable than the T31; it forms to my body whereas the T31 would chafe a little on long runs.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Stone, February 14, 2011
By Stone
What I received was not what is pictured. The transmitter is a hard plastic case that snaps onto the belt. It is a good design that is comfortable, unobtrusive, and works perfectly fine but having a photo of the product they are selling should not be too much to ask! My only con is that the belt is supposed to fit a chest size of up to 38" for this size, found this info elsewhere. It will only fit up to a 31" chest with comfort, if your chest is bigger than 31" GET THE BIGGER STRAP!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  My Wife Love This, December 25, 2010
By freefall7358 (WideOpenSpaces, FL)
I just got my wife to start wearing a monitor in the gym (one of my 10 year old ones). She liked it, and the plastic on the tranmitter band broke. Perfect replacement, Better, easier, and more comefortable fit she says. I will get one when my 20 year old tough plastic, manly, and uncomfortable one gives out.....

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Waaay more comfortable than the original rubber version!!!, June 9, 2009
By ALR (Dallas, TX)
This chest strap is way more comfortable than the older version. It's actually wearable, and it fits pretty well. I bought the XS/S, and it is small indeed! I'm very little, and I would only have an extra inch or so to let it out if I were any bigger, so size up if you're in doubt. This model is a definitely improvement. If you're using the older, plastic model-- UPGRADE!! You'll be so much happier.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  great replacement transmitter, September 26, 2010
By novadancer
I misplaced the transmitter that came with my watch. This one performs just as well as the original. Only downside is the xsmall/small band is bit small. I am 5'3 and it's pretty tight. I alternate between this and original larger band... hopefully the small will stetch out at some point.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  heart rate monitor, October 17, 2009
By bleb (Illinois, USA)
Bought this to replace non coded transmitter that stopped working after 2 years. Belt is more comfortable but after wearing the transmitter 35 min. it stops working and needs to be dried off. This is always in the middle of my workouts. I haven't even worn it in the pool, not sure if it will even detect my heart rate if its submerged. Would not buy this product again.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great to work with, September 26, 2009
By Matthew Bryan
These people were great to work with. I only received the belt without the transmitter. Turns out there was a mix up between them and amazon. They sent me a prepaid shipping label and refunded my money promptly after the product was returned. I'd work with them again, hopefully I'd get the product I was wanting the first time though, but stuff like that happens sometimes and I really appreciated their understanding and reimbursement.

I wear this every time I workout. It is way more comfortable than the band that came in the original heart rate monitor kit. Works great and I can even clean it with an antibacterial wipe.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A great replacement to the original, May 25, 2008
By joohop (Jackson Heights, NY United States)
My original coded transmitter's battery died, and I had to find a new transmitter. The Polar WearLink Coded Transmitter feels more comfortable since it's less bulky than the original, and the best thing about it is it's replaceable battery. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to replace their original transmitter.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Replaceable battery an improvement, December 27, 2007
By arenaeh
I had to order this replacement transmitter when the battery in my old one wore out. The older model transmitter did not have a replaceable battery, so this to me is a great improvement. I'll be interested to see if it's water-resistant enough to keep out moisture from perspiration.
