I bought this basket for my 7 year old son's "mountain bike" or "BMX" bike. When we take trips to the local library it gives him a place to put the books and his water.
At first my son was very frustrated with this because the basket constantly fell off. After about a week I determined that I needed to use the "zip strips" to hold it onto the bike handles. Now he's happy...it doesn't fly off anymore. But, I also cannot get it off his bike without cutting those zip strips. Thus far, he doesn't mind it being on there all the time.
Also, this bike basket truly is meant for what I call "old lady bikes." This type of bike is the one where it's meant for leisurely ride...kind of like a Julie Andrews bicycle. The BMX and mountain bikes have handle bars that tilt toward the rider making the basket tilt back too. It works for us, but not ideal for those bikes.
Overall, we're glad he has it. The library is more important than style.

I purchased this bike basket not realizing it didn't screw on. I thought I would have to somehow mount it when i first go it, but it just hangs from the handlebars. One day with nothing in it, it flew off into the middle of the street as i hit a bump! Normally if i carry stuff in it, it adds weight so it doesn't usually fall off. Another thing, since it just hooks on, anyone can steel it when I lock it - I sorta wish someone would steal it so i can buy a new one (one that needs to be mounted). Its not really level either, AND it covers up my front reflector - so it makes my bike unsafe. I have been looking for a reflector that can be put onto the front of the basket, but I may just invest in a new basket all together. I should have returned it, but now i dropped my bike and there is a dent in it.

Just what I was looking for. An adult's basket big enough for a few small grocery items, and can be removed easily when I'm not shopping. The handle is an added bonus! Lets me take the whole basket into a market, and know when it's full!

I put this on the front of my three wheel bicycle at work. I am an IT professional and in the basket I put my tool bag whick is pretty heavy. The basket has held up fine for months. I highely reccomend.

a little large for a cruiser but if you fiddle with it, it will fit on the handlebars just fine,i love the handle on it and the actual space to hold things like my purse or water bottle is great!

My daughter LOVES this basket.....easy to remove, easy to fill up with the necessities needed for kiddies riding and playing outside.exercise and fun for the family...great price too!

Basket arrived alright, but to my dismay it wouldn't fit my bike (Schwinn Suburban comfort bike). I managed to do it by bending the back of the basket in the middle a little, but still it is very uncomfortable putting it on with the brake and speed-shift wires getting in the way, not to mention the front reflector, which you have to either remove or shift to the side.
Very impractical, I wouldn't buy one like it ever again.

I recieved the bike basket I ordered way ahead of the time my order stated & I'm very happy about that. I used the basket for a Medical Walker for the 73 yr. old man I am the caregiver for & it works wonderful.

This is for a beach cruiser bike and doesn't work for my mountain bike. I guess I should have realized that beforehand. But it is a great basket that would serve its function well if it fit my bike. Saving it to sell to another student who has a beach cruiser.

The basket is OK, but it didn't have any brackets to attach it to a bike. Also it doesn't fit some bikes and might interfere with brake wires. Overall is a useful product for a price.

It worked for my cruiser bike, but not sure if it will fit all bikes. If you just lay it on the handlebar using the hooks, the basket is loose (like other reviewer said) and any bump will make it fly off. I had to push it down hard, bend the part between hooks and then I got it to fit, but in the process I scratched the basket and damaged the plastic that covers the metal wires. I cannot easily remove it and put it back when I need it (the way I wanted it), so I leave it on permanently.

the basket is useful, its size is what a bike needs. however it might be a lil tight on the bike's breaks' wires, for my bike it didnt affect alot. so depends on ur bike style.

My handlebars are bent forward, and the hand brakes get in the way of the basket. It simply does not fit on my bike. The quality seems decent, though it could be designed better.
Unfortunately have to send this back (seller: J Bikes requires to be sent back within 7 days of arrival, what?).
What a waste of time.

This basket worked perfectly for my grandson's bike. It is coated so it slipped over the bar with ease and without scratching the paint. It's exactly what he needed for getting the mail for us.

This basket took some messing with to get it to fit nice on my bicycle, however it was well worth the effort as it is so inexpensive. If you want a functional basket and don't want to spend $30, then this is for you! Just keep in mind you might want to grab a few zip ties and some pliers to bend the top to fit nice over your handlebars.

This is a really nice basket. I did have a problem with the fit. It is smaller than some of similar style. The front reflector on my bike got in the way of the basket fitting closely to the frame of the bicycle. This fit makes it difficult to lift off and put back on quickly. I would purchase the larger basket next time, if you are putting it on an adult bike.But it is strong and looks cute.

I fitted this to a mountain bike. Took some jimmy-ing, but it worked out. I think it's actually made for a regular bike, but whatever the case, my wife loves it and sometimes even buys groceries (when it's a few) and brings them home in her basket or we'll go on picnics with the picnic basket in the bike basket. Great buy for the romantic in all of us.

The basket in general is good but the hooks for the basket to rest on the bike are small. I can't even hook on the basket to the bike because I forgot that the break wires run in front of the bike, where the handles are located. So keep in mind where the break wires are located on your bike.

With the high gas prices I ride my bike everywhere. I wanted a durable bike basket and I loved my purchase but it did not fit my bike so I had to return the product. Excellent customer service on quick response to email and refund.
