5.0 out of 5 stars.  Worth the extra money, May 26, 2007
By Joel Dauteuil (Burlington, VT USA)
I was skeptical. How effective could these actually be? But for the price I figured "why not give them a try?"

Worth the extra $20 or so. Although there was little to no sway with the Thule rack in the first place (I love my Thule rack - the 912), these keep the bikes extra firm and in their place when you're on backroads. But, I think most importantly, these cages keep the bikes from banging into each other and causing unnecessary frame dings.

Cons:
A little bit of a hassle to put on and take off - maybe 5 minutes extra to secure two bikes.

Also, you have to throw them in your car rather than leave them on the rack - too easy to steal so why risk it.

I like them - I recommend as long as they're less than $20.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Works -- but EATS PAINT, October 27, 2007
By J. A. Thomas
We bought a couple of these for our Thule rack. While they do indeed work, they also chew up the paint on the seat tube pretty badly (for non-experts in bike frame anatomy, the seat tube is the vertical part of the bike frame below the seat post). I wish someone had mentioned this to me before I started using mine -- my wife and I chewed through paint and decals on both of our road bikes and mountain bikes before we realized the cause. I would recommend placing some sort of soft but clingy barrier between this accessory and your frame (for example some Grip Liner - 12" x 4' Black Cushioned Shelf Liner by Contact Brand)

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Works much better than expected, September 10, 2007
By Ryan Hamm
I had a problem with the front of my mountain bike coming out of the cradle with my 937 rack. I figured it couldn't hurt to buy one of these.

If you follow the directions exactly and make sure the part is firm then it works like it's suppose to. The front of my bike quit moving around.

I've got a hard tail so it works. The part is designed to ride up against the seat tube right where it meets the top tube so if you have a full suspension bike this may or may not work for you depending on the rear suspension design.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  functional addition to rack, August 28, 2008
By JarHarms (upper, IL)
I bought these to use with my Thule Roadway rack, they come 2 per package. I read the review noting the possible frame tube scratches and decided to be pro-active. I used some left over bartape and placed that over the hard plastic where the frame tube rests against. These cages work great to hold the bikes in place. I use the Thule strap that came with the rack to hold the front wheel in position during transport.
It is true that these cages don't lock to the rack so they could be stolen, but at least they are on the lower cost side of Thule's accesories and easy to replace.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Simple and they work., April 24, 2008
By oaksquare (Southeastern, Mass)
This is a simple addition to a trailer hitch that really works. The package contains two which is enough for two bikes.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  If you have the Thule Spare Tire Bike Rack..., January 7, 2008
By R. Kupferberg (Atlanta, GA USA)
If you have the Spare Tire Rack, as I do for my Jeep Wrangler, the Model 955 "stabilizer" is a must-have. It works perfectly and does what it has to do - keeps the bike from swaying back and forth over any kind of terrain. I would highly recommend it, and it's worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A must have!, August 26, 2011
By Luth
I purchased a Allen Deluxe 3-Bike Hitch Mount Rack and read reviews that bikes swayed. So I did some research and found this item of which I gambled it would work. And YES it does. Works perfectly with a little tweaking and I VERY much recommend getting this combo.

Note: I read that is product can scratch the bike frames so I put a small rag between the bracket and bike frame of which works too.

One caveat, was the manufacturer forgot to ship both straps. Amazon was more than accommodating with options to rectify the situation.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Works Great Until you see the Paint Chipped off your Bike!, January 27, 2010
By Steve (St. Louis, MO)
The Thule No-Sway Cage does a great job holding my bike in place. I would have given it a 5 out of 5 stars but it chipped the paint off my bike! Like the guy said in an earlier review...I wish I would have known it did this because it could have easily been avoided. I put weather stripping on it and it works great...no paint chipping! This really upset me because I paid a lot of money for my mountain bike and the manufacturer of my bike does not sell touch up paint! Also, I called Thule and they are aware of this problem. They said the No-Sway Cage does not chip the paint off all bikes, just some! Thank you Thule for selling a product that does this. Again, this product works great and holds your bike in place....just make sure you put something on it...like weather stripping or some kind of soft pad. Make sure you take the No-Sway Cage off when you are riding and keep it in your car...it can easily be stolen if left on the bike rack.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Works great, December 25, 2009

This works great on the Thule bike rack...just make sure you secure the two sides and the bottom...this prevent the bike from swaying. I haven't had any issues with this eating up the paint on my bikes yet.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good product to have, October 12, 2009
By DD (Raleigh, NC)
It is easy to install on the bike rack. Very satisfied. Enable me to secure the bike better on the rack. Unfortunately, I am only able to use 1 anti sway on my thule spare me rack. It is sold 2 in a pack.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome, October 3, 2009
By N715DP (PA)
I ordered this two pack for my Bell-branded hitch rack and it fits perfectly. Any rack with rails that are about 1" in diameter will work with this. I wasn't able to confirm this before I ordered so I figured I would take the chance and return if needed. The way it attaches to the rails is perfect, every secure clam shell clip. The two rubber bands per cage are thick and look like they will last a long time. Holds bikes very well. My only complaint is that there is still some movement of the bike and where the plastic of the cage touched the bike frame, it rubbed away the paint. Good thing both of my bikes are aluminum so I don't have to worry about rust, but it would be nice to see a thick rubber pad built into the cage to protect the finish of the bikes. Only 4 stars because this is something Thule should have thought of. Other than that, they are perfect, even if you don't have a Thule rack.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  They don't fit, August 31, 2009
By warm weather rider
I purchased these cages for my Thule Hitching post rack. The cages do not fit around the arms of the hitching post. I went to Wal-mart and bought and assortment of bungee cords for less than $10. I have a no sway solution and extra security for the bikes above the built in rubber straps.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Serves The Purpose, November 25, 2008
By C. Bermudez (Ny, Ny)
I was very excited to use these items. When I got them, my family and I traveled from Jersey City to Carolina Beach, NC, 10-hour trip, and carried our 2 bikes in our our spare tire. These items are rock solid because my bikes didn't sway/move considering the strong drag and long travel. These tighten the hold/grip of my bikes to my thule rack.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Una buena compra, December 2, 2008
By Ahmed Abrego (Panamá)

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Work well with modification, March 6, 2012
By Danny
These work fantastic however like many other reviewers I have seen some paint damage on the seat tube. I have found a decent solution I thought I would share with everyone. I used an old inner tube and cut a piece to fit into the cradle. I then used contact cement and glued it in. That seems to have done the trick. For extra protection I use an additional piece of inner tube that I sandwich in between to protect my delicate carbon frame and paint. If not for this point I would have given 5 stars as it really does work well(after modification)
