2.0 out of 5 stars.  You want the other model, October 4, 2010
By Rodney Schuler
I maintain a fleet of about 35 kids bikes for my wife's daycare business. She get donations of mostly of cheap department store kids bikes. The most often broken part is the training wheels. So, I have bought and installed lots of replacement training wheels over the years.

You really want the model with the `sturrip' that goes forward and fits over the chainstay. That keeps the training wheel from flipping back and upward when the kid puts weight on it. Wald makes many durable models with this feature. Go buy one of those.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Solid Product - Recommended, July 20, 2007
By Henry Chmielefski (North of Harrisburg, Pa)
Bought these for my 4-year-old. As my title said, a very solid, well made item, adustable as he becomes more balances as he learns to ride.

Almost an out of the part home run, except I wish they threw in two washers so I don't have to keep tightening the bolts as often... I'll just have to dig up a couple of my own. Other than that minor annoyance, it is a superior product and I do recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good purchase, May 27, 2008
By T. Hay (Plattsburgh, NY)
I couldn't believe how hard it was to find 12" training wheels for my 2 1/2 year-old. The local stores were sold out. These have worked great. They were easy to install and my little one loves riding her bike. It's a bike that is a few years old but we had thrown out the old training wheels when my older daughter learned to ride without them. These wheels have been a good replacement.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  STURDY, FANTASTIC, TRAINING WHEELS!, August 30, 2011
By funmom
I was very impressed with this product. I searched high and low for a set of training wheels that would fit my daughter's disney princess bike. These were the only ones I could find that would be sturdy, and built to last. Also that fit her bike properly. All of the other training wheels didn't fit, they were too large. So these fit perfectly for the smaller bikes out there. I was very impressed with how sturdy and great these wheels are.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Wheels wheels, August 13, 2011
By Soup lover
After reading the reviews and doing a little thinking...I chose these training wheels.

Solid construction...Very heavy metal brackets and hardware....Stamped steel wheels with rubber tread.

I had to modify the chain guard a little..But it all went on easily after that.

Highly recommend...............

5.0 out of 5 stars.  SOLID!!!!, July 19, 2011
By Bartimus Max (CA)
Oh my god these are legit! Thick, strong steel arms. These are old school and built to last! I highly doubt your kid will bend these while they are on the bike! There is also no "tilt" from one side to the other when riding with these, they keep the bike almost perfectly upright. I have these on a 16" Marin MBX 50. You will need to have the nuts that secures your rear wheel to the frame to bolt these on, but everything else is there for an install. Nice. These will last forever....pass them down from kid to kid!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good sturdy product, May 6, 2011
By MrB (Lenexa, Ks United States)
Very sturdy, pretty easy to install.

The "anti-twist" inserts are included, so don't buy them separately as another review recommends.

One bit of advice - they can't be attached outside of the main axel nuts like other training wheels can be.
You must remove the main nuts (one at a time to keep the wheel in place) to install the wheels and inserts.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Training Wheels, April 1, 2011
By Pablo Cruz
If you have ever had training wheels that bend and do not support the bicycle rider, this will cure that problem. These are very good quality and will not leave you wondering if your small rider is safe. I highly recommend these.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great product, just a little hard to put on, October 5, 2010
By angela1435
I thought this was a great product. It was hard to find training wheels for my daughters bike and after reading the reviews I thought these would be perfect. The only problem with them was it was a little difficult to attach to the bike. But other than that these are great!

The previous training wheels we had couldn't adjust properly and my daughter was unsure about riding her little bike. These are sturdy, completely adjustable and are 100% fabulous. Great value and great purchase!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Training wheels as they should be, July 11, 2010

Well worth the extra money. Fit both of kids bikes perfectly. Easy to install and much sturdier than others on the market.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice product, May 24, 2010
By J. Allen (CA, USA)
I used these training wheels to prepare an inexpensive, well used, hand-me-down kids bike for my youngest. The wheels that came with the bike were beyond repair. These wheels fit well and are much more heavy duty. My 2 1/2 year old is already pedaling around with confidence.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Very sturdy, May 13, 2010
By East Texan (Tyler, Texas)
Happy with this in all respects except that the curved cut out on the bike frame bracket is too small to fit snugly against the tubular, horizontal portion of the bike frame. The final assembly is still very sturdy and fully functional, but it's obvious that the bracket doesn't fit as designed and, as a result, there will be more scratch marks on the frame once the bracets are removed.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Very sturdy wheels, May 9, 2010
By Roger Lin (DC)
We craigslisted a 12"bike for our kid. The training wheels were in a bad shape. We bought these based on the reviews. One reviewer said, "stop wasting time looking buy these!". I am glad I listened. These are great!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Durable & worth the money!, February 5, 2010
By Kim (Alabama)
Got this for my son's first bike and they're so durable!! I'm glad I spent a few extra bucks on these rather than the flimsy plastic wheels most bikes come with. I'd strongly recommend these for anyone who wants durable training wheels.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Tough set of wheels, March 29, 2012
By AJB (Chicago)
This is a solid pair of training wheels. We used for our son on a Tonka bike that is really heavy. I was worried they might be too weak to support both him and the weight of the bike without slipping, but have had no issues.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Wald 1216 Bicycle Training Wheels, March 18, 2012
By bill
I ordered a set of these at Christmas, Just pulled them out of the box and installed. March, yeah I know. I was concerned buying unseen, but I'm a Tool Maker and I can tell if your child bends or wears these out. Your child is too big or has been using training wheels too long. They are made of heavy enough gauge of steel, nickel-plated. They should work fine for children 6 an under.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Get the kids going, March 7, 2012
By Kettlebell Fan
These are the best training wheels I've seen, and I've seen a lot. They are real rubber with a heavy mounting bracket and a good metal finish. Since I'm not concerned with adding weight to my child's bike, these worked out fine. They are still on a second bike and they have many more miles of life left in them. You will not be dissapointed with this wheelset.

Made of solid metal, so they shouldn't break or bend. Very easy to mount, although you will need some tools.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Did not include all of the nuts and bolts, February 1, 2012
By spicker76
I am very disappointed as this did not include all of the nuts and bolts needed to install the training wheels. Eventhough the description is "everything you'll need to install the training wheel to a bike". Luckily we have some left over bolts to supplement the missing parts.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Riding Strong, January 5, 2012
By TowerForChrist (Fort White FL)
Bought this for my youngest son for his "Motorcycle" bike. We live on ten acres in North Florida, lots of sand and ample rust on anything metal. These have held up to some serious abuse by the kids and are still going strong even with all the sand. I would definitely pay every penny for these again without hesitation.

By Littlepepper1010 (Hollywood, CA)
I looooooove theses training wheels for my son because they are so well made and the most sturdy one I have ever seen. The problem is that they don't really fit the frame of his bike.......I am going to find a way to jimmy it because they really are great. hellllllllllllllllllllllp!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Very pleased, September 11, 2011
By Rebecca Briggs
I got 2 small bikes at a Second Hand Shop for my twin grandkids, who are 4. These training wheels made all the difference. They had a ball riding the bikes, whereas before adding the training wheels, it wouldn't have been possible. Easy to bolt on and plenty strong enough to hold them securely. They also came in a timely fashion. Thank you.
