Stable but doesn't level the bike, August 21, 2007
By Turbo (Canada)
|
|
The block does a good job of securing the front wheel and providing a stable platform. However, it's not tall enough to level the road bike I've used hooked up to a Blackburn trainer. The only way to get a comfortable riding position is to stack a good thick phone directory underneath the stabilizer ... the older style, really thick and wide phone books work best.

Blackburn Trak Block review, January 14, 2008
By Mark L. Eberle (Shakopee, MN USA)

I'm glad I got the Trak Block along with the Bicycle Trainer. They really should be sold together. Without it the bicycle is running downhill and it is very hard to stay on it.

Is this necessary?, February 24, 2008
By CJ Hammarstrom (branford,ct)

I purchased the block because it was recommended to go with an indoor trainer. I received my indoor trainer and love it, but not sure why I need the block. I thought it may be to hold the front wheel steady, but it seems fine without a block. Looking at the block I decided it must be to raise the front wheel up, but my wheel does not need raising. I quess some people need the block, but it is not for everyone.

Works well...., March 6, 2008

not sure a phone book or routed wood block would'nt do the same as the bike is already stable. This just adds height for my set up.

Great accessory, February 20, 2008
By T. (Coeur d'Alene, ID)

This is a must have, clearly better than a phone book or 2x4. I'm not sure if there are cheaper ones out there (there probably are), but this one works great!

Great addition, September 23, 2007

This is a great addition to the basic trainer. Adds a little incline to the level equipment for added work.

Good idea, June 16, 2010
By Dar (Medford, WI, US)

I bought this to use with the Schwinn bike trainer. Good idea and works pretty well. The bike is stabilized at both ends and the front wheel doesn't want to steer while pedaling. Also levels out the bike a bit. Safety first!

Good deal, January 14, 2009
By Shrewd Shopper (IL, USA)

Good deal for 3 different heights - a must if using a trainer. I cut a non-slip rug grip-pad and put it under mine. It will slide around on a wood or laminate floor otherwise.

It's darn good piece of plastic, January 6, 2009

That's the hardest working piece of plastic in show business. It's better than using an old phone book.

This bike stand works great. I previously used a couple phone books, but they were never as stable/sturdy as this bike stand.

Blackburn Trak Block II, February 19, 2011
By richl

Works as designed. Three different height sets for your bike's front wheel. Does a good job of stabilizing bicycle when you are using any trainer. Does not eliminate the need for a mat if you are training on a hardwood/tile floor.

Fine I guess., January 28, 2011
By Allysa

It stabilizes fairly sufficiently as its supposed to. But the three stars come from two factors. One: the price. This plastic block thing is not worth twenty dollars. Second: it doesn't even have some sort of rubber or place holding material on the bottom to maintain its position on wood or tile floors (so mine slides if too much force is placed in one direction, even slight). The levels are nice, as you can adjust the height. It works. But it should certainly be sold for around ten instead. Fifteen at the absolute, absolute most.

Necessary?, January 17, 2011
By Bryan (Iowa)

I bought this item thinking that it was imperative to use along with a trainer. However, the amount of decline from the trainer is negligible. It doesn't offer anything that a 2x4 or a modest-sized book you have in your home couldn't do if you felt that you needed the incline.

I bought this stabilizer block and a rear wheel trainer for myself last year. I just bought a second one and a rear wheel trainer as a gift. So.. I was obviously satisfied with this product, as I have now bought a total of two of them!

Blackburn Track BlockI, December 24, 2010
By Buddy's Mom

I purchased this for my athletic daughter and she loves it! It works with her favorite high performance bike and she set it up in her bedroom. The trainer that she is using it with wears out the back tire, but this is not the case with the block on the front tire.

Not very stable, November 4, 2009
By MRBK (NYC)

After buying this I wish I had bought a heavier, more sturdy one. It works Ok on carpet or rug, but otherwise will slide all over the floor and come out from under the wheel at times.

great, June 21, 2009

When inclement weather strikes and you cant get your road ride on, the trainer is always a great option. This stabilizer has three heights and is still compact. It fits in my dorm room. Would recommend.
