5.0 out of 5 stars.  Athletes Are Challenged and The Rest of us Aren't Left Behind In The Dust!, February 26, 2010
By Bold Consumer (USA)
These people really know what they're doing!

This is my 3rd Bike-O-Vision DVD and it's my 2nd favorite. My favorite was California Coastline, which included one of my favorite areas, Big Sur. I've ordered more.

I "travel" on my treadmill. I may switch to my indoor bike or the elliptical if I need a change or if my feet need a break from the treadmill.

I started seeing changes in my physical condition after the 3rd session. Nothing until then. The scale has gone up, because I'm developing more muscle (also more muscle TONE) and hopefully greater bone density. I know that increasing muscle helps to burn fat, so the scale results will follow. These DVDs are keeping me challenged so that I'm consistent in my workouts.

An athlete can enjoy the challenge of this DVD while the rest of us won't be humiliated as we are left behind in the dust. I have problems with balance which keep me from riding a bike. Last time I tried, I rode it into a rock ledge. Scary! This is much safer for me.

On this one we started out in some areas of California that are evidently well known to cyclists, but I had never seen. Beautiful! Twists and turns in the mountains. My kind of scenery!

Then we visited some orchards on the side of the road in Fresno. This is a faster ride. Just flying down a straight road with thousands of fruit trees on each side. It was invigorating. Finally, just as I thought I had just about had enough of orchards, the scene changed. We were in Los Angeles. We visited Beverly Hills, beautiful tree-lined streets that looked just like it looked when I was there. After a few more changes in scenery, and just as I was wishing for some ocean views, there they were! Then we took a trip to Balboa Park, another of my favorite places to visit.

When we got to Pinnacles National Park, I started wearing down. Then things got so interesting that I forgot I was tired. During one of the rides by the ocean, they reminded us to look for dolphins. Did we see any? You'll have to look for yourself. We visited Route 66 ghost towns. There was a road called zyzzx or I think that's what it was. Interesting! I've never seen a road quite like that one.

Note To Producers: May I suggest La Jolla? If you produce it, I will buy it. :)

More, please.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fabulous Surprising Scenery Through Southern California!, July 25, 2007
By 24theroad (Los Angeles, CA, USA)
Length:: 1:12 Mins

I lived in Southern California for an enjoyable number of years but some of the places in this video I'd not known existed, like the ride along the Los Angeles Crest right outside Pasadena, or Joshua Tree National Park. And here's a small video clip of orange groves outside of Ventura, CA. There are amazing places remote and completely unlike the stereotypical "Southern California" shown on TV, the movies or travel videos, but you also get a quick ride through Beverly Hills as well. I enjoyed this dvd.

I love cycling and every virtual journey is a great compliment when you are riding indoors. The views keep you motivated to push ahead more so than any static view. I have all the dvds and use them daily. It's the best investment I made for cycling since getting an indoor trainer. Bike-O-Vision has many rides now so I can go to a different area every day with different music and scenery. I appreciate the lack of graphics or "coaching" commentary or other cyclists on the screen in front of the views as on other cycling DVDs. I highly recommend this ride!
