1.0 out of 5 stars.  Does NOT accommodates Mountain Bike!, July 22, 2008
By H. Su (Raleigh, NC)
The item description is misleading. I have a mountain bike - Raleigh Mojave 5.0 and this rack does NOT accommodates the tires. The top rack is design to tilt at a slight angle to hold the tire firmly but it is not tilted enough to accomodate my regular mountain bike's tire. Eventually I have to bent the hook down in order to muscle my tire onto the hook. But it was a pipe construction so the structure integrity is compromised this way (you don't really want to bent the metal pipe and expect it to hold the same weight). If you have a "phat, chunky mountain tires", DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM. Guarantee you'll regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  New design DOES work with MTN bikes, April 11, 2011
By Zonda Perry

Ignore the old reviews saying it won't work with mountain bikes. This hook rack works great, and I have hung both my roadbike with 700c wheels and my Mountain Bike with 2.5 inch tires - both are great. It is evident that the product I got is a new design, since it isn't quite like the picture. Check for pics I posted to see the new wider hook design.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  good solid rack, May 13, 2008
By camp6ell (NY/VT, USA)
This rack is nice and solid and holds the bike well. It works especially well when you can anchor to a stud, but it's been OK so far for me in the first few months anchored into concrete with included wallplugs. I set mine up so that the back wheel would usually be resting on the ground, to reduce the load on the hook.
I also bought the bottom tire holder to protect the wall. It's OK - doesn't really serve much purpose, and it's a matter of opinion whether a lump of plastic is less of an eyesore than a tire mark on the wall.
I use a variety of sizes of bikes on these, and so far they've all been OK. Positioning of the bottom tire holder isn't going to perfect for all bikes if you use for more than one.
After a year of almost daily use, some of the rubber coating on the hook is coming off, but otherwise, rack is doing fine.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Don't waste your money, September 29, 2009
By Alan G. Smith (Cary, NC USA)
I am sure this might be useful for some people, but not sure who. It says that this is the right size for all bikes, but the wheels on my mountain bike (standard one, not anything special) were too fat for it. :-(

4.0 out of 5 stars.  REVIEW, August 31, 2006

The bike rack works well. Make sure to find a beam behind the sheetrock to install as it will simply fall off the wall if the top rack is not securely tightened into the wall.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Does what it is supposed to, July 31, 2007

with a bit of style. Easy to put up and makes it easy to hang your bike completely off the ground, saving your back tire and rim a bit of wear. The included tire tray is a nice addition, keeping your wall free from tread marks.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great hooks, lousy anchors, July 24, 2010
By lee bowen-bradshaw (Minneapolis)
Based on the other reviews, we used the provided anchors to mount the hooks, big mistake. When the bikes(average weight road bikes)were hung, they both pulled out of the wall leaving large holes that needed to be patched in freshly painted walls. After using toggle anchors, the bikes hang beautifully. These hooks are simple and very easy to use. I would highly recommend the hooks, but please, buy different anchors.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great for most bikes under 40lbs, January 25, 2010
By Pensacola Area Photographer (Pensacola, FL USA)
For the negative reviews from people with mountain bikes: A lot of mountain bikes will range from 35-60lbs - which is probably not the target market for this bike rack. This rack is meant to hold 40lbs or less - it is after all attached to your wall with 2 screws (stud or brick).

As for comfort bikes, beach cruisers, and especially road bikes - this rack is just fine. Took me less than 5 minutes to have it on the wall and the bike hanging. I have attached 2 photos of the rack in action. Suitable and convenient. Its light weight and the 2-screw attachment is low impact damage to the wall, easily patchable upon removal. The addition of the tire tray for the bottom/rear tire is great, can be attached via the double sided tape that comes on the back of it, or with 2 screws.

If you are looking to hang a heavy bike you might want to check out some other products.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Elegant bike rake that can be drywall mounted with proper hardware, November 27, 2011
By broox (Des Moines, IA USA)
I was a bit bummed when I first bought this bike rack and noticed that none of the places I wanted to hang my bike had studs in the range I needed.

So in an attempt to hang the bike without a stud, I went and bought some 50lb rated plastic anchors. They seemed awesome... until I hung my bike up and it nearly pulled the top bolt out of the wall.

My bike is only 30 pounds, but I had forgotten that wall anchors are rated for vertical weight, not weight prying away from the wall.

So my second (and much more successful) attempt was to replace the top bolt with a Toggler brand 3/16" toggle bolt. These are rated at 238lbs on 1/2" drywall. I drilled a bigger (1/2") hole, popped the toggle bolt in, and my bike is now hanging from it with ease.

As for the tire tray, I'd recommend hanging it with one of those 3M stretch adhesive strips (the ones that come with those little plastic hooks) as the adhesive that comes with the tray is insane and will probably rip a substancial chunk of paint/drywall off when you remove it.

That said, with just a couple modifications, the da vinci bike rack and tire tray are working out great for me. Spending an additional few dollars allowed me to hang my bike from the wall in the location I wanted, regardless of whether or not a stud was there.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  DO YOU LIKE RANDOM HOLES IN YOUR WALL?, September 7, 2011
By Fiendship Fun (MD, USA)
this is probably my fault to begin with because i know how flimsy my walls are, but if you live in a rented apartment you might want to second guess getting this.

i wanted to make more space in the apartment because its pretty cramped and i don't want my bike just sprawled out. i order this thinking i can hang my bike on the wall.

well the instructions indicate you have to find a wooden wall stud to drill into - my apartment is small and cramped, i don't have a stud sensor and wasn't going to go out and buy one. wishful thinking on my behalf, i just drilled into my wall to try to see if i could find a stud there / just hang it up on the damn drywall (bike is 20ish lbs). the studs seem to be spaced out far and wasn't where i wanted the bike to be so it entails that if i can't hang it up where i set out to hang it, i pretty much can't hang it anywhereeee... i tried to just stick it in the drywall but the whole thing just fell out leaving two holes instead.

had i have known, i wouldn't have bothered. i'm saving this for when i move into a house sometime in the future- could be a decade for all i know.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  watch how chubby the bike, July 25, 2009
By G. R. Bodnar (Cleveland, OH USA)
I was pleased with the sturdiness and overall construction of hanger but problem came with type of bike I have. My bike is a hybrid. A cross between a street and mountain bike. Even though it has an aluminum frame. It still has some wt. I could not hang the bike off the floor as instructed which is fine since I was only looking for space in my room. I live in an apt. with plaster walls (another problem). Get good wall anchors (don't use what is included) and be careful how thick the plaster when hanging on outside wall (before you go through plaster to brick wall). I also found getting my tire into hanger difficult once vertical. So if you have a bike like the picture (i.e. a light racing bike) great. But if a serious one. Be warned. May not work as advertised.

first of all just want to say that i have a road bike, and its less than 40lbs. it holds the bike right after install. but when i put the back on for the 2nd time. it pulls the wall rack out and made 2 holes on the wall.
they should make an angle down the screws and not flat into the wall!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Quality, September 16, 2011
By AstroJ007
I'd like to see how these hold up in the long term, but so far so good. Typically, your average utility hooks tend to loos their rubber coating after prolonged use. Hopefully this doesn't happen here. I used to cut up old tubes and slip them over the hook - that works quite well. I wasn't able to find this online so I wanted to share some more important dimensions:

1. Hole-to-hole for mounting: 25mm
2. Metal base length of flat part: 90mm (extends another few mm but doesn't contact surface)
3. Metal base width: 12mm
4. Hook spans interior diameter of 60mm

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Tiff33, September 8, 2011
By Tiff33
I bought three of these racks. The hook is very sturdy. I live in an apartment and have to store 2 road bikes and 1 mountain bike inside in the spare room. I hung them side by side on studs in the wall. They have kept up for a few months now and am very satisfied. I didn't want anything gaughty or take up a lot of space. These are the ticket.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Good Idea, bad product, September 19, 2011
By Pravin (Irvine, CA)
It seems like a very good idea- lock the front wheel with a hook, and let the rear wheel rest on a cushion against the wall. Two problems: (1) lot of people pointed out that the hook size was too narrow for a mountain bike, (2) attaching to the stud was necessary to ensure stability. First thing: the hook is now TOO wide for a sports or a hybrid (one I have). They need to have separate products for mountain/sports bike- One size does not fit all. SECOND, more serious. The spokesperson for the company came and rediculed a buyer who did not attach this to a stud. You need a drill to get the screw through the stud. But 90% through the stud, the drill was not going anywhere. The screw lost its head when drill was at low speed. The hook was attached but loose. Now, it is very hard to take out a screw that is in the stud but has lost its screw head. If they expect installation on a stud, atleast provide a screw that can take a drill. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  This works for ALL your bike needs!, May 15, 2012
By eRRaTiC (California)
I bought this to hang my mountain bike on the wall outside on my patio to give me some more room. I was worried based on some feedback here, that it wouldn't accommodate my mountain bike. Well, I can say now that I bought it, it works for my mountain bike, my sons bike (20" bmx) and even accommodates my wife's beach cruiser tires! I will now be buying more so that I can set theirs up next to mine.

I have 26 x 2.00 size tires on my mountain bike. It easily fits the tire. I have to lift the bike up just a bit higher than the hook so I can get the tire in there, then it holds it securely. When I was installing it, I put my bike up against the wall area I wanted it installed to make sure all would work OK. It took me just a few minutes to get it all situated.

The actual holder has a plastic cover over the tire holder part to prevent scratches. Though it seems durable, it will probably be the first to fail over time.

It came with 2 screws and 2 dry wall anchors. I didn't have to use the anchors as the screws were sufficient enough since it was being installed on wood.

Now we can talk about the Tire Tray. It looks like it was a last minute idea. It doesn't match the top piece and comes only with a strip of double sided tape on the back to install it with. That didn't work for me. The good news is that it has two pre-molded holes already prepared as if it should have been drilled but wasn't. This made it easy for me to drill two holes and use my own screws to install it with. One thing to think about with this piece, is it isn't needed unless you worry about tire marks on the wall. It doesn't support the bike in anyway, so you can choose if you want to use it or not.

Overall, good value, and is easy to install. It comes with the screws needed for the main piece and the other piece can easily be installed using other methods. I definitely recommend this for people who need a quick fix for storage of their bike and an easy installation.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Novel and strong bike rack, April 9, 2012
By uturn
Nice wall rack. I used this in the corner of my garage. It is strong but the included screws are silly. I would only mount this on a wall stud and with some bigger and longer screws. I even drilled the rack screw holes out some to accomadate bigger screws. You could use the supplied screws for the bottom of the rack but you need to drill out the plastic. altogether I am pleased.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fit 4 Mountain Bikes with NO problems at all!!!, March 30, 2012
By Charles Brown (Bristow, Virginia)
This is the first review I have ever written on Amazon...and I'm only writing this because there were some reviews about this product stating "Does NOT accommodates Mountain Bikes", etc.

This couldn't be further from the truth!!!! I EASILY installed four of these in my garage last night...I hung a total of 4 mountain bikes and I have so much more room now.

Buy this product with confidence because it gets the job done and there is absolutely nothing wrong with this item!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great product, tire tray doesn't stick to wall, March 12, 2012
By blurped (USA)
This is a great product. It holds my 15.5 pound road bike up very well on a plaster wall and has plenty of room for larger tires if you have a mountain bike. My walls are made of plaster, but they have a thick 1 inch backing of wood on them, so the nails hold very well. I can tell the product is sturdy enough to hold a much heavier bike. It is sleek-looking and hooks on to the tire comfortable. Thus far, I haven't seen any marks on my black rims since it has a nice rubber coating on the hook. My only complaints are 1) The da vinci tire tray does not come with a screw. Instead it comes with a peel-off sticker for the backing which doesn't hold well on a textured wall. There is a hole to put a screw, but you'll need to provide your own. 2) Large hook allows for some sway if you bump into it. Keep in mind that your bike will protrude quite a bit from the wall. So make sure to install it in an area with no traffic, such as a corner that doesn't have a close walkway.

PROS:
- Sleek design
- Rubber-coated hook
- Long screws
- Easy to install
- Seems to work just fine with a light bike on a plaster wall

CONS:
- The bike isn't held tightly in place- needs to be installed in a corner away from foot traffic
- No screw for bottom tire tray (but has a hole where you could install with one)
- Sticky backing on tire tray doesn't hold well on textured wall

3.0 out of 5 stars.  harder to use than it ought to be, July 27, 2011
By Bike Commuter Kurt
This hook does everything it says it will. It installs reasonably quick (if you have a good stud to work with), is a pleasant looking design and holds my bicycle to the wall. My gripe with this product is that due to the shape of the hook it takes concerted effort to mount and dismount my bicycle. The hook is bent unnecessarily far - they've made it so it'll hold my bike through an earthquake. I plan to remove some of the curl out of the hook to make it easier to get the rim of my front wheel onto/off of the hook.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Holds bike, or hats/coats, May 20, 2011
By btsbar
For the price, really good. Looks nice even when the bike is not on it. Could also be used as a hat or coat rack. Puts my bike into an unused nook in the wall, freeing up some floorspace, and it actually turned my bike into a piece of art, too.

Its a little bit cumbersome to get the front wheel around the hook, but its not too bad once you get the hang of it. The plastic rear wheel holder will stick better with some screws thru the pre-countersunk holes, but it should be fine with just the double stick tape provided, nothing pulling it off the wall anyways. Time will tell how it holds up, but it seems like a pretty quality rack. Id recommend it if you keep you bike inside your house/apartment.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Simple solution for a crowded space, March 8, 2011
By bike_california (San Jose, CA)
I recently installed the Delta Leonardo and Da Vinci Tire Rack in my two car garage. One rack was installed with the recommended 12" clearance for the rear tire off the floor. I mounted the other 16" away (next stud over), but staggered it by raising the hook height by 12". It's a little harder to put the bike up, but allows you to really nest two bikes together.

Two bikes, next to each other, taking up little valuable space...that's simple. Why only four stars? There is always room for improvement in any product...four is as high as I go.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good product, February 9, 2011
By Slight
The product is good, but beware that to anchor to many walls you may need to use toggles, which require holes of about 1/2 inch dia to be drilled in your walls (if you don't have a stud handy). It took a while to arrive, but this could have been USPS rather than the seller.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Man It's Not Easy, February 16, 2010
By schmecher (Los Angeles, CA United States)
I have a hybrid bike. I decided to mount this with my back wheels resting on the floor because I didn't want to go hunting for a stud and drilling holes in my wall. Let me tell you, it's not an easy thing to do alone. I finally got it down after a few grunts and tries but it still requires me to lift the bike up to get it into the hook and have everything fit snuggly. I have no doubt it could support a hanging bike though, it is similar in quality to most bike hangers I've seen at stores.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Works well, looks good., November 30, 2009
By Mashmal (Portland, Oregon)
With the addition of a 4th bike to my apartment, I needed to get serious about saving space. These racks turned out to be the answer. I just mounted them into the studs and the bikes fit into previously impossible spaces. I even staggered their height in one place such that they could be on adjacent studs 16" apart. Best racks I've had at a great price.

BTW, complaints about the trays being plastic are silly. Making them metal would just have added cost, and they're mounted far enough away from the hook that their material change isn't noticeable. I do recommend drilling them out at the pilot holes and mounting with screws, though. The adhesive rips the paint right off the wall, plus screws force you to mount to the stud and thus stay on the same plane. Don't over tighten, though, or they'll crack.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Only good for road bikes, December 14, 2008
By mountainmom (Brevard NC)
I agree with the other reviewer. This works fine for a road bike tire, preferably one with a light weight frame. Mountain bike tires are too difficult to put on and remove, particularly if your not a weight lifter. I am mountainmom's husband, am reasonably strong and still strugggle to get the bikes with fat tires on and off. Once they are on there, it holds them well. Also the rubber coating was easily cut by the spokes.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Sturdy, December 2, 2008

Easy to install and stronger than it looks. Rubber coating on hook is fraying after less than a year of use, though. I hope it doesn't damage my rims.

This bike rack is simple and elegant. I use it every day, and it's relatively easy to hang the bike from and take it back down.

While a bit pricey for what it is (I could get all of the pieces from Harbor Freight for less than $5 if so inclined), I do like this rack. Easy to set up, and does what it's supposed to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great product, January 9, 2007
By S. G. Fernandez (Chihuahua , Mexico)
I was looking for a way to put away my bikes for winter but couldn't find an affordable device, this is a very sturdy and simple unit that can be quickly installed under ten minutes, just be sure to measure how high you can elevate your bike so you don't install the hook out of your reach.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Does the job well, July 25, 2008

Not bad. The anchors were completely useless, though, I found. I ended up buying better, heavy-duty ones. All in all, though, it does the job.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Good idea, but poor product, August 21, 2011
By Simon
This is my first review for any product I've purchased on Amazon. I feel obligated to leave a review because there are a lot of conflicting reviews for this product.

First, this product does NOT accommodate any wheel size. I have a XC/trail mountain bike, and my tires barely fits. My tires are 2.25", which are relatively small compared to all mountain / downhill bike tires. My front tire does not sit nicely into the holder as it should. It's also very difficult to hang and remove the bike given the size of the tires. This product probably works really well for most road bikes, but not worth the hassle for mountain bikes.

Second, the screws that come with this product are literally garbage. One of the screw heads was misaligned, which contributed to stripping of the screw when trying to install. In fact, both screws were stripped as I tried to screw into a stud. The screws never did make it all the way into the stud and so I had to remove the screws. I ended up scratching the heck out of my wall and the product, as I had to use a hammer to try to remove the screws. Fortunately, I had some spare screws I ended up using, which worked a lot better. I also had some paint to touch up my wall, but it was an ordeal I shouldn't have had. Do not attempt to use this product without installing into a stud if you have a mountain bike.

I still have the product and am using it, simply because I don't want to go through the ordeal of returning this item for $15. It'll be useless when I upgrade to a better mountain bike. If only I road bike...

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Piece of Work, August 20, 2011
By Jimi Oke (Pennington, NJ)
This hook (or rack) and accompanying tray are fantastic, instantly transforming my space after installing and hanging up my road bike. A few pointers:

1) You do not necessarily need a stud to install the rack. You can hang it on drywall with the right hardware. I used the Toggler brand "Snaptoggle" toggle bolts, able to support about 300lbs in 1/2 in. drywall. These toggle bolts required a half-inch hole to install. This made it tricky to determine the exact distance between the two screws. I ended up drilling three holes before I got it right.

2) The mounting instructions on the packaging say (2b) "mark the spot where the front tire touches the wall," and (2c) "measure 12" above that spot to mark the top screw hole of rack." I found the 12" to be off. 6" is more like it. Having to drill an extra hole below the second turned out to be a blessing, because the top hole was way too high, following the 12" direction.

3) Note that the tip of the hook is roughly 4" above the top screw. I have a 700x23c wheel, and the top of the wheel is 5" above the hook when the bike is hung. Thus, my bike ends up about 9" above the top screw.

4) It's extremely helpful to hold the bike up against the wall, as the manufacturer suggests, and take appropriate measurements before drilling any holes. I did this all by myself, but if you can get an extra hand, that may save you a lot of time and effort.

5) Something I consider to be a design flaw on this otherwise beautiful and functional rack: the screws are not flush with the rack. In my setup, the lower screw juts into the wheel right close to where it rests on the rack. Not sure if my tire will lose pressure faster because of this (probably not), but I wish the screws were flush with the entire rack surface.

I would post a picture if I had a camera, but I have to say for 15 bucks, this is an excellent apartment solution for my road bike (one-bedroom in my case), and it holds it in a spot that seems to have been made just for this.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Looks great & easy to install, January 29, 2012
By Jessie (CA)
I purchased two of these bike racks after looking for over a year at places like Lowes. My husband and I are incredibly happy with the racks and absolutely love them. I definitely recommend this bike rack. My husband and I both have mountain bikes, and we had no issues fitting the bikes on the racks.

The only problem I encountered was when I stripped the screw during installation. However, this was my fault. I didn't pre-drill the hole large enough, and because I installed the rack quite high off the ground, I didn't use enough strength with the power drill to fully drill the screw in the wall. However, if you pre-drill with the correct size drill bit, you shouldn't run into this problem. And, you can even use a hand screwdriver for installation after you've pre-drilled the hole (which is what I did after I was afraid of stripping the screw again).

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Just what I expected, January 22, 2012
By windlakeartist (Ohio)
Read quite a few negative reviews on this, but I use these in my garage to hang a couple of hybrid mountain bikes and they work just fine. It is not reasonable to mount them direct to drywall with drywall anchors, you eaither need to find a stud or use some boards to span studs if you are mounting between studs like I do. In a garage I juste used 2x4's but if you were doing this inside a finished room you could use nicer wood and I bet it would look pretty nice. I'm very happy with these, really helps declutter the garage.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome!, January 21, 2012
By Kevin Jones
Just cleared up a ton of space in my dining room! I followed what others did using a board to mount the hooks to (with extra space for accessories/helmets). Have one hybrid bike and a mountain bike, both have fairly thick tires, agree with other reviews that the design accommodates them easily.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  These are Great., January 12, 2012
By bobtec (United States)
I bought 2 of these. When anyone looks in my room, they see a Trek 7000 Woman's bike (my best friend's), and my Trek 7000 hanging together. I tried using the anchors (which were totally worthless - maybe a graphite bike will work), but found that if you want it to work properly, you really need to find a couple of studs behind the wall. It will then properly support any aluminum frame bikes (and maybe even some balanced steel touring bikes).

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Easy installation and great space saver, January 3, 2012
By Gil Borges (New York)
This bike rack delivers what it promises: space saving. Well built pieces very easy and simple to install. Apartments in NYC are small so every space you can use makes a better living. Now in winter season the rack is perfect as i will keep the bike inside for long time, just make it pratical. Shared some pictures so people can have a better idea.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  I'm sure it should work fine..., January 2, 2012
By nycnic
But I tried to install this on a wall and with 3 holes ripped out of the wall later, the bike rack is sitting on my desk. The bike isn't even that heavy (comparatively speaking). For anyone who decides to buy this, think about acquiring a stud finder as well. I am not blaming the product by any means and will try to install it on another wall. I will update when I do!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  As Shown, December 15, 2011
By Crystal Lalime
The product was as expected and shown in the photo. My bike is an expensive triathlon bike and I was nervous it would damage the wheels, but all seems to be okay. It was very easy to hang and it is easy for me to retrieve my bike. For a small apartment or space, I think this rack is the way to go.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Works great!, December 2, 2011
By terell
Fits my mt. bike just fine... all the weight is on that top anchor (and then some because of leverage) so hit a stud or use a wooden backer like I did. I see no way that the supplied anchors will reliably hold in drywall and wasn't going to test it.

Overall, good design and clean look.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great product, lasts long time!, November 5, 2011
By mnkyman
I have been using these hooks for 3 years now and they work great! Screw them into studs and they can hold up 40lbs by the package. Heaviest bike I have put on it is my mountain bike at 30lbs. The rubber on the hooks is also great for protecting the tires. I saw someone say this hook didn't fit their wheel/tire. I'm curious as to what bike they have. My MTB has 26" tires and has no problem with the hooks while my road bikes have 700C tires (equivalent to a 29ner mtb) and also have no problems.

The one downside to this type of hanging system for bikes is that you have to be strong enough to lift the bike up and adjust the wheel around the hook. The higher you hang the bikes on the wall, the harder it is to lift them. I personally don't have any problems with getting the bikes on the wall, but have had friends who had trouble with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  simple, straightforward to install and use., October 25, 2011
By jerome grisham
Very minimal, so unlike many racks it does a good job of vanishing when there isn't a bike on it. The hook is big enough for my deep road rims.

Easy to install, but you should mount on a stud or some other solid material - a bike is a lot of weight to leave hanging on drywall.

You can spend a lot more money than this on a bike rack, but I'm not sure why you'd want to unless you need something more than single a semi-permanent mount.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Functional, October 13, 2011
By scotmcd333
Bought two, works fine but the back tire tray is a waste of time. I stuck the tray(s)- (dbl sided tape) to my finished garage wall and both fell off with in one week. I suppose if you are very careful and NEVER touch the side of the tray with the back tire it might stay put, I think this nearly impossible. So save a few bucks and skip the rear tire tray. just the rack is available.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  It doesn't support 40lbs, October 11, 2011
By Duley (Seattle)
This product comes with 2 anchor screws and claims to support 40lbs. My bike is 22 lbs. It ripped the unit right off the wall. This product really needs to be attached to a stud with strong screws.
I advise not to purchase this product unless you can find a solid wood support to attach it to.

For about $15, one can't ask for more regarding a vertical bicycle storage solution. A couple nice things about this: 1) The clear plastic rear wheel tray 2) I hardly notice the rack itself. The bicycle almost looks like a piece of art when it's hanging.

It looks great & works great... a little hard for me to lift up the bike to hang it up! I guess I need a lighter bike, or should have thought about that before buying the rack.
