Don't be fooled by the picture, this messenger bag is MUCH smaller than you would think. I've found some good use for it, but I would never use it as serious carrying equipment.

Works For what I Bought It For, April 27, 2010
By Work Junkie (Idaho)
|
|
I needed a Bag to carry around my change of Outfits (work & after work)so that I wouldn't have to lug my clothes around in a plastic bag. I can fit a pair of Jeans, Shirt, make-up bag, lotion, and perfume in this bag, With extra room to throw in a pair of Sandles. The strap is adjustable, I adjusted it all the way to the lowest it could go so there was no extra strap flying around (which is the only negative, which another reviewer has said just to safety pin it down, and that does work), and it reaches below my hip.
This bag isnt boxy, it's like tough canvas and it's able to be folded up since there are no things within the bag to shape it besides the items you place inside.
I like the leather buckles/straps though; Make the bag look cool. Worked Perfect For me :)

A beautiful Product!!!, September 9, 2007
By Boomeraki (Germany)

I have purchase this bag since some weeks ago and I am very pleased! The only objection I may have is that's a single compartment bag that it may creates some troubles especially when you have to carry keys and mobile or a ipod. But I guess that's a "compromise" in order to maintain the original character of the bag!
It is a truly lovely product with an absolutely wonderful feeling!

Good for a netbook., January 27, 2010
By Maverick9614 (Pullman,WA)

Got this because I have a couple classes where all i need is my Netbook. Good thing that is the intended use, as not much else will fit in there.
I can get my Toshiba NB205 with the 11 inch screen plus a couple of spiral bound notebooks and that's it.
Will say good construction. Though it's small, it doesn't give off the "man-purse" vibe, but only because it has a mil-surp vibe.
The closures are not snap, so I hardly use them.

First-Aid Bag, August 26, 2010
By Stacks
|
|
I purchased this bag to use as my first-aid/survival kit for camping and other activities. It is quite roomy, and very well-made. The straps on the front are a hassle if you need to get inside of it quickly, so it may prove to be useless as my first-aid/survival bag, but it is very secure. I don't have to worry about small contents bouncing out of the top of the bag. I am glad that I purchased this bag from this seller.

This is a cool little messenger bag that you won't really find anywhere. It's pretty small for a messenger bag, but can fit folders and notebooks but don't even try stuffing heavy textbooks in there. Other than that this bag is great makes me feel like a medic!

Cool bag, May 30, 2011
By Sara (Los Angeles, CA, USA)
|

I really like German military-style bags, and this is one is pretty cool. The fact that it has only a single compartment is a trade-off since its a good-looking bag (I wish it was a bit bigger though). Be careful however, when washing it. I've since learned that the canvas gets ruined if you put in the washer and especially the dryer, so its best to wash it by hand and air dry it, but also because the straps shrink a bit and get curly, now my bag looks a mess even though I've had it for less than a year, I'll be buying another in the future.

Reliable School Bag, March 18, 2012
By Annie
|
|
I was very hesitant to buy this bag, largely because the majority of reviews are far less than satisfactory. However, I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived in the mail. I was expecting the bag to be very small, as the reviews warned of this, but it isn't small at all. I needed the bag for school, to carry a large binder, a couple of textbooks, my large wallet, and other small things for a day of college classes. It is the perfect size for that. It probably isn't as big as it looks in the picture, but it's still a decent size. If you are looking for a bag to carry your laptop, this probably isn't the bag for you, unless you have a netbook or 10' notebook. People have also been complaining about the "fake" look of the leather straps, but it's not bad at all. I don't usually belt the straps because it is kind of inconvenient. But overall, great bag. It seems very sturdy, and hopefully it will last me a while.

The picture of the bag makes it look much larger than it actually is, dont be fooled. Also it is folded in plastic so you have to open it to see how big it is and then cannot return it.

Way to small, August 1, 2011
By J. George

While the bag does look great, its size is extremely underwhelming. I cannot imagine any school books of any use fitting in it, nor a laptop other than 13" Macbooks or netbooks fitting into it, as most 13" PCs have extra case room, it might not fit easily either.
Essentially, I have to gift this to a friend and search for a new bag. Again.

Good bag all-around., July 25, 2011
By Linda Nick (Troy, MI United States)
|
|
When I saw the bag on Amazon and read the reviews saying it was too small, I was still expecting a good-sized field bag. When I got it, it was actually a little bigger than I had imagined. It's about half the size of my standard messenger bag, and that was the size I wanted.
People also complained a lot about the straps being a very plastic-y leather, and my hopes weren't high when I got my bag. But even with all the bad reviews on it, the straps on mine were very soft and easy to work with, so I don't see why people were complaining, unless the bag has been updated since the time of their purchase.
All in all, I'm happy with my bag.

medic bag, October 2, 2010
By disapointed
|
|
the bag is ok in size. the problem is that shoulder strap is generic. I have seen better strapson 10 dollar back packs at walmart. the closing straps are to flimsi and small, not enough stitching to make them look dorable. it should have snap on connectors or a simple peg and loop. need more padding and stitching at the bottom. eventualy it is going to rip from the bottom unless you just carry bubble wrap or facial tissues. this thing would not last a week in the battle field, you would thin that this was a good army surplus item, but it is not

A bit small and simple, but unique., July 28, 2010
By L. Nix (Seattle, WA)
|
|
I read the reviews so I was expecting it to be small and as some people mentioned a bit cheap looking, but I was quite happy with the product I received. It IS smaller than it looks on the picture, though not small enough to look like a purse for any guys that are considering.
The canvas material is nice and it seems sturdy enough; its absolutely perfect for my iPad, Moleskine, and wallet, with plenty of room leftover. However there are no inside pockets. :[
The medical symbol is unique and I really like the vintage look of the bag, the red paint doesnt look cheap or shiny. The straps are a bit plastic-y but I personally ripped mine off and sewed some nice distressed straps on instead.
All in all, I love this bag. Its a conversation piece and its a good size when I just want a few things with me.

As advertised, March 7, 2010

Item arrived as advertised, proper color scheme as shown in picture. Only complaint lies in the leather straps, that have a sort of plasticky looking front, which is of an odd light tan color, that distracts from the period look of the bag.

Smaller than it looks., March 1, 2010
By Cailin
|
|
The bag is a lot smaller than it looks in the picture. I was hoping to get my laptop into it, but sadly, I'm unable too.
No inner pockets, and leather straps are hard to buckle/unbuckle (I don't bother with them). Bag is more khaki than green (as it appears in the picture).
Other than that I'm pleased. The canvas is high quality, the bottom of the bag is even re-enforced with an extra layer. Very long, adjustable strap. Shipping was very fast also.
It is a nice bag, but I probably would not buy again, based on the size issue.

It's a great value for the price. The bag is a nice thick canvas material, yet still very soft. The only thing I was disappointed in was the "leather" straps. Very cheap, stiff, fake leather which does not belong on an otherwise fantastic bag.

Fashionably small, August 9, 2010
By Moe
|
|
When it first came in the mail, I thought it was really small. I got a little sad to find out my bag was this small so I decided to just stick with it. After all, I'm only taking two classes. After I opened it from the package and all I was shocked to realize it was actually alot bigger than I expected. I don't know how to put it in size but I can say it's a little smaller than a messenger bag but still has enough space for lots of things. It looks just how it looks in the picture, except that it's flat cause there's nothing in it yet. :P The only problem I had with it was the leather straps. They're plastic leather and they're also kind of hard to use, so I decided not to bother with them. The flap is long enough to cover the bag without the use of the straps. Other than that, this bag is very fashionable and fits my size perfectly. I can't wait to use it! Ever since I got it, I've been getting soo many compliments on it. It's really an amazing piece of fashion, especially for me since I'm into old-fashioned things. I would recommend it to people who need to carry about few things for school or work or whatever, like casual users. If you're taking loads of classes and need something that carries alot, I don't recommend this.

The dimensions for this bag are listed in the product description. If you order this product and then get hot and bothered because the bag was a different size than you assumed, it is not the fault of the bag that you were too incompetent to read reviews or check the product dimensions.

A solid bag for small needs., April 25, 2012
By Josh
|
|
As a substitute teacher I needed a small bag that suits my needs. As has been said in other reviews it's a cross between a purse (without looking like one) and a small messenger bag. I would say the size inside is roughly about a folder/binder across and high and about a book's length wide, it does contort well though.
Be careful with what you want to put in there, binders will be fine, but my folder gets a little worn given it's the only serious flat thing I have inside. Overall the bag is nice, the straps get a little annnoying to open, but also secure the stuff closed. I have found when I'm lazy if I reach in pull an item up and flip it around (Do a barrell roll with the item) I can get it out without having to undo the straps which is nice, but would only work for things like a small book.
Overall it's a nice enough bag to carry stuff for an extended trip places (Car rides, house sitting, Renaissance Festivals, girlfriend's house, etc) It's not going to be a replacement backpack, but it's good if you need to travel light, the bag doesn't weigh too much, and I'm comfortable walking home (a half an hour excursion) every day with it. It actually is nice in that regard it doesn't flop around.
And since I"m sure someone will lack the confidence because they're afraid of it looking like a man-purse according to my research (again being a substitute teacher and using said bag), if you carry it across your body (opposite shoulder so strap covers torso) it's fine according to high schoolers. As for middle schoolers I very rarely have any joke around (and they're the kind that normally would get written up anyways and just craves the negative attention), and elementary school students don't care. I have even had 5 year olds recognize the little plus sign on the bag meaning first aide (which is kind of cool, and I usually keep a small first aide kit in my bag just in case)
It's served my purposes well, and for the price it's done it's job quite well for a whole school year without fault, the worst I've noticed is it's gets dirty on the bottom quite noticeably (gets grey/dark), but apart from a little bit of noise it's fine in the washing machine.

Well made and smart, March 16, 2012
By The Proton
|
|
At less than $20, this canvas bag is awesome! I wanted a bag that did not have too many "pouches-pockets-straps", had clean lines and was also something small so it would remind me to reduce what I carry. Large bags (to me) = large amount of things invariably get carried, which over the years has become a bit of a shoulder pain. This bag offers the added carrot of looking smart. It now holds a 1" file folder horizontally, a water bottle, a thermos, calculator, and a large pouch for my little doo-dads including a kindle and camera. Alternatively, it holds the file folder, the laptop+ wire, large pouch, calculator. I hold my purse and phone in my jacket for easy reach when taking a bus.
Some other reviewer said the straps were poor in quality. While it is true that you wouldn't want to carelessly yank the strap open and close several times a day, the straps seem sturdy for the cause. They are leather-like and a very complimentary color for the lovely beige of the bag. The medic screen print is a wonderful, matte, rust with good workmanship.
Three weeks down, it holds up well + several compliments to boot!

Good in a way you don't expect., February 4, 2012
By MaltBall

I read some of the reviews on here and second-thought about buying the product, but still went for it.
They were right about the image being a little bit deceitful in that it looked fairly big, but don't worry about it. It's big enough that it doesn't matter. I'm a college student and I carry around notebooks and binders and I have no problem fitting them. Better yet, I've had two fairly thick notebooks, a kindle, a smaller notebook, a calculator, AND my laptop.
(My laptop is a Dell 1458, it's a 14" laptop that isn't even thin, it fits though, which is really nice.)
The "fake" leathery straps already mentioned as not nearly as horrible as they said it was, but it is a hassle sometimes so I don't deal with them as much.
It's a good bag overall, may not have met my every expectation, yet surprisingly good. It really does give you the "Medic" feel to it and I've gotten complimented several times already.
Happy buying!
P.S.: I specified how big my laptop was because the previous reviews were somewhat useless in that they say their laptop can fit but you didn't really know if yours would, too, knowing that the sizes of laptops are different.

Simple, tough, and ready for a zombie apocalypse, December 8, 2011
By book addict (Plano, TX, USA)
|
|
I came across this bag on the "This Is Why I'm Broke" blog and put it on my birthday wishlist. My older brother was sweet enough to pick up both this and a Victorinox Swiss Army knife for me.
First, it is a little on the small side, but that's a plus for me. I tend to load down bags until the weight disrupts my normal spinal curvature. This bag is large enough to hold several file folders, a netbook, my Kindle, my wallet, and my SAK. I have to prioritize, and that's a good thing.
Second, it works with just about any casual jeans outfit and has a retro/post-Apocalyptic vibe I really like. The strap is long enough to wear across my chest, but not so long that I can't just put it on one shoulder. It's also adjustable. The canvas is well sewn, and the pattern is simple. There are no interior pockets. Doesn't bother me, but it might bug some people.
My only complaint is that the buckle/strap closure is not easy to open and close quickly, so I mostly leave them unbuckled. The flap does stay in place on its own, and there's no really good spot to pop my carabiner keychain onto the bag, which is where I prefer to keep my keys. A handy person could easily solve the problem by adding a fabric loop or metal ring.
For the cost, it's a fun, sturdy, unusual little bag, and I like it a lot.

Honestly, I read reviews before I buy a product, at least off of amazon, But I'm glad to say I'm very happy with my bag. A lot of people complained about the strap, but they have fixed it to match the bag, It doesn't feel like plastic. The size is great. It holds my first aid kit and another small bag for me to put important things like my wallet, keys, phone and other "need to have" items. I have to say it's great. People also don't call it a purse. Excellent for men.

A bit small, a bit short., October 14, 2011
By J. Bosser (Ocala, Florida USA)
|
|
Just wide and deep enough to hold about 3 regular school books side-by-side. Not amazingly functional if you're planning on carrying a good amount of stuff. It's a single-pocket bag with no dividers or inner or outer pockets. However, the material is nice and it has a very attractive look to it. If you're a taller person, however, be advised that even at the longest adjustment, the shoulder strap is a bit too short. It works if you're of normal height. Being 6'3", it was just about 4 inches too short for me. All-in-all, I still like it and will probably end up using it for specific occasions. It's just a bit too small for everyday use.

Medic Bag Review, June 24, 2011
By RadicalEdward

I purchased this bag because I needed something to carry my stuff but am not into girly girl purses. I really like the way it looks and it is just the right size for me. I also like how it has a long cross body strap. When I ordered the bag it arrived within just two days which was a nice surprise. The only issue that I have with it is that the one end of the strap is not secured down and it often flops down and I have to readjust it again and again. It is just a minor annoyance and I plan on sewing a snap onto it so that it stays in place.

I bought this for my son for Christmas. He loves messenger bags and his daddy, my husband, is a medic, so he thought that was cool. He is 7, so it serves it's purpose well for him, but it is definitely poorly made. I don't expect it to last him the year. But as the previous reviewer observed: "you get what you pay for". And for the price, it's decent.

I really really really like this bag :3 I use it for school and it can fit a couple binders and other stuff I need. :D Some think it can be annoying for the extra shoulder strap stuff to be flapping around, but you just need to safety pin it and it's no big deal. It's somewhat durable, but I wouldn't put TOO much weight in it ^-^

What's not to love?, February 23, 2010
By Also, bees. They will sting you.
|
|
I personally really like this bag; it's smallish for bigger books and laptops but then again, it has absolutely no padding or anything else that would protect a laptop, so I don't use it for that. It's very functional, as in there are no fancy pockets and zippers to get your fingers stuck in and make them bleed a lot. It's actually surprising how much stuff one can fit in it.
On the other hand, I find it difficult to look awesome without this bag. It just gives off a really hip vibe that seems to attract yuppies and high school students who are in the middle of their identity crises.
It's overall a very useful and cute bag. If I didn't have one already, I'd buy it again.

The bag was really simply, but it does work well. It doesn't give off a feel that it is a purse. It doesnt have a bunch of goofy slots inside or zippers. I said in my title that it was spartan and I mean that as a very sincere compliment. It is made pretty well and will serve as my textbook carrier for quite some time.

Caution with the Picture!, May 18, 2012
By Ricky.H

|
I had loved the way the bag looked online. I wanted this is be my first messenger type bag. Once I received the package, which did come on its delivery day, I felt dumb for have ordering it. The second I saw how small if was, I went "DAMNNNNN!" As if I was ripped off, I considered returning it, but the hassle of the Amazon return policy didn't seem to favor my order worth of 16 dollars. The material it was made out of seemed okay, but the cross sign didn't look like the bright red at all, but a dark, dark red, with a seeming look of a tint of purple. I had drawn a box according to the dimension, which was about 12.5 by 11 if I recall. I had believed that I was able to fit in my spiral notebook and one of those accordion looking folder keeper, the kind you slide papers in. I believe that I'd be able to have it for school use, the notebook and a few durable folders, and a few misc things such a calculator, planner and glasses. I don't plan to use it any time soon, so I'm waiting to see if I see anyone worthy of the bag as a favorable gift, perhaps I'll settle whether or not I'll have it by then.
I really feel like I'm gonna be a minimalist by taking this to school though. I did want a change from the standard book-bag after all :/
I wouldn't recommend it for a friend, unless they plan to dress up as a battlefield medic, or just love looking like a medic. Yet, the design I think was worth it. IF ONLY IT WAS BIGGER! I WOULD TOTALLY BUY ONE with this DESIGN, BUT BIGGER! ;_;
UPDATE: It's been my first week using it to carry my stuff for school. The things I have is a 2 inch binder, a small planner, a book, my glasses case, a folder and little misc. items. I've magically been able to get around. It does bring the minimalist in you, only carrying what is truly needed. I just carry the single textbook i may be carrying in my hands. One problem I do see is how the strap, when adjusted, just falls back, so most times, it dangles down at full length, which is about 2 feet on both sides (so about 4 feet in total.) Once you start wearing it, YOU HAVE TO BE CAUTIOUS WITH IT! The material seems stable, but just enough to hold itself together, which is why i don't cram it any heavy books, afraid that it may wear out the bottom of the bag. I'm glad to have bought it, seems like a good change from the average joe's bookbag, only if you carry minimum things that is, like a a few notebooks and folders. Also, I do leave the little leather (which feels and looks fine) straps alone sometimes, since it takes about 8-10 full seconds to strap in and go to the next class...to undo and repeat the process again. The leather straps are sturdy and the bag itself seems fine in its stitches and how its been made. I've grown to like it, so I raised it to a 4 star, since its one of those things that take time to fully appreciate it.
PS. It can reach about more than the 11' width...to a 13' width, which looks kinda weird at first, but looks fine.

Perfect!, May 11, 2012
By April (CATONSVILLE, MD, US)

The bag is perfect! It is exactly how described and the size is exactly what I was expecting/needed. This bag is perfect for carrying a netbook and some books with some space to spare. Also the strap is very soft and comfortable. The only thing that I might think as a problem is the buckle straps making accessing whats in the bag slow and a little cumbersome. However that is the authentic look of the bag and it looks really cool and really nice. Glad I bought it!

Delivered quickly, came as described. Got this as a gift for a friend who's a Med-Tech in the Air Force. She loved it, so good job! Only thing I would change is the straps, seem a bit flimsy considering the quality of the rest of the bag. Not a biggie, just saying.

I purchased this for my wife because she loves dual purpose items. She has used it for her purse for about 4 or 5 months now and it is still going strong. Great for hikes or to sneak candy into a movie theater. The material is strong and the straps are sturdy. Great price too.

For my uses, its great, May 6, 2012
By pilot (California, USA)

I initially wanted a quality canvas messenger bag to lug with me on my various errands on my bicycle. I have purchased from Rothco before and felt pretty confident with their quality and products and figured why not. The messenger bag I received is as pictured and accurate. But the problem is that the bag is actually smaller than you would expect. It is made in Pakistan and the material is actually pretty thin. These things do not bother me at all becuase I can still carry my 13" macbook and 1 other textbook around no problem while riding my bike. But the leather straps are awful quality!!! If more money could have been spent making nicer or at least better catching buckles for this messenger bag, I would give it a 4 star rating. This seems like a more "showy" messenger bag than a practical one, but then again, its lightness helps and I have been able to make the most use out of it and all my tasks that I do. So a pretty good product for the price is all I can come up with at the moment. If you want something more secure and protective for your laptop, I'd recommend something else. I have gotten compliments on the bag due to its design. I only wish It could be of better quality and thickness. *It picks up moisture pretty easily and it takes seconds before the water seeps through the thin material and ruins its contents. So do not think its ruggid appearance means its suitable for ruggid conditions.

I Expected Better, April 26, 2012
By BD1050

I love the appearance of this bag, and it's size was know before I ordered.
My complaint is with the structure of the bag. The stitching is poor and the material is thin in the places that count. The high stress areas and joints will need to be stitched before use, and the place where the flap joins the bag is beginning to tear right out of the box.
I do not recommend buying this bag unless you intend if for a gag gift.

It looks like a purse, March 30, 2012
By Wiggle Worm
|
|
I love the bag! It conveniently fits all of the books i need for school in it perfectly, and it fits comfortably on my shoulder. However I have received some complaints from my piers that it looks like a purse, which is understandable. I am a 6'1", 260 lb man and this bag does look rather tiny upon my massive body. Given the option to go back in time, I would have purchased a much larger bag.

Turned out to look more like a purse than an over the shoulder messenger's bag! I'm a paramedic and was super excited to bring this to work and look like a huge dork, but it looks so small on my shoulder I'd be too embarrassed to bring it in. Too bad.

Pretty awesome, March 13, 2012
By Ffiirrobbiic

This is a pretty awesome bag. It works as a perfect replacement for my other actual backpack that ripped. The only thing I've found wrong with it is that there are a few strings that hang loose on the inside so I'm a little afraid of what that means (unless it's just extra string after manufacturing)but all the while I've noticed the excess string nothing has gone wrong with it (knock on wood). I would suggest it for those who want a cheap and awesome-looking alternative for one you wear on your back.

Smaller than expected, March 7, 2012
By James Fisher
|
|
I was a bit disappointed at first when I received the bag. It's much smaller than what you would expect by looking at the picture. After using it for a while I found that the size really isn't that much of a drawback. Just don't expect to fit much more than a few notebooks in it. The bag seems to be well made. Not sure how it will stand up to the washing machine. All in all I would recommend it. I absolutely love the look of it and for the price you really can't go wrong.

This is so cool. Other reviews said it was smaller than they thoughtbut it is a nice size. I plan to use it camping to carry our kindles in it as well as other smaller items. Very pleased with it so far looks so much like the real thing. I do like world war items and books so it fits right in with all of that. Love it.

So Far So Great!, March 6, 2012
By deathofkai
|
|
Bought this bag as a surprise gift for my girlfriend, cause I'm just awesome like that :P, a couple months back and she loved it. Thought it was a cute bag which matched her personality (the medic cross).
The bag is nice and small which makes it a perfect one-night bag but not a everyday bag as there is no main zip (=4 stars), this makes it easier for low-life's to steal your dr#gs (joking). Zipper would have been awesome. Still a sic bag to have with a high quality canvas feel.
It's just so damn cute:)
If you're looking for a bag to take on mini-hikes (like down the raod mini), staying over at a friend or Hugh Hefner's then this is an awesome bag. To be honest, just get the bag and take it to a tailor to put a damn zip in making in an awesome all-day-every-day bag.
Sorry, I can't say much else as I don't have the bag in front of me. BUY IT if you like it!!

This item is seriously smaller than you think, it'd be great for maybe a 11" laptop, but I found it very useful to carry documents on my sport bike, It won't break or fall apart and its just the right size for documents or folders. well made very well advertised, so well...you can't tell its seriously small.

I read in other reviews that the bag was smaller than it looked in the picture, but I think it's a pretty good size, it's big enough for my laptop and a few other things. It shipped very quickly, I received it within a few days after I bought it and I've been using it as an everyday bag ever since :3 I like the belt-like straps it's good to know that it's not going to open unless I want it to, unlike velcro. There really isn't anything that I dislike about it :)

decent, used as a manly diaper bag, January 8, 2012
By JT
|
|
I got this as a substitute to my wifes frilly diaper bag. works fine as that. The buckles are not fast. I had wifey sew buttons to replace the buckles. No internal or external pockets. Just the main compartment. Might bother a few people. Not me or my awesome diapers and wipes.
The canvas is very thin. Do not get this bag looking for a heavy duty commuter. It will not hold up. Works fine as a light duty man satchel with an eight month old.

Okay, but its not the item in the picture, December 20, 2011
By houseboater (Cleveland, Ohio USA)

Bag arrived quickly, but its not the same as the picture or item description. Picture shows and item description says "khaki", which is a yellowish tan, (like the pic). Bag is actually dark green. Item description says brown star--star on the bag is bright red. Item pic shows a medic hang tag; the item description says "hang tag". Bag arrived without medic hang tag, just a cardboard UPC tag that says "made in India".

The reviews are misleading., December 2, 2011
By Kimberly

I thought this bag was going to be significantly smaller than it was because of all the reviews saying that it's small, and you can only fit so much in it. Happily, I was able to fit a rather large collection of books and my belongings I transferred over from my regular purse. The strap adjusts easily and I love the vintage feel of the material. Overall, I really enjoy this bag and it's a great addition to my collection. Definitely not as small as the other reviews say! I was able to fit my netbook inside as well, with quite a few other things.

Cute, but not as expected, November 18, 2011
By Mama M (Missouri, United States)
|

I purchased this bag to use to create a pretend vet set for my daughter. I plan to fill it with some "medical supplies" she can use to care for her stuffed animals. The bag I received does not have the medic cross on the front, which really was a big reason I purchased this particular bag. It is a very cute bag, but now I need to take the time to decorate it so that it is more than just a generic bag. A bit of a disappointment!

Modified and does even better..., September 16, 2011
By A. Liffick (Elizabethtown, PA USA)
|
|
I received this bag as a gift from a family friend. The strap was too short for me to wear cross-shoulder style, so I modified it slightly. I cut the strap off from each side about an inch or so above where it's attached to the bag, then used the inch remaining to sew on some D rings. Using a replica Indiana Jones bag strap attached to the D rings, the bag is now better than ever. I use it to lug around anything and everything and it holds up well.

Got this bag for my son's Red Cross first aid supplies. All he had in it were band-aids, gauze, etc. nothing heavy. He hadn't even taken it outside the house...had it 3-4 days and the rivets that hold the leather straps on the front came off on one side. Returned it. Too bad, cuz it's a really neat looking bag! :o(

Great compact school bag...even if your in AP classes., August 24, 2011
By Pabacii
|
|
I bought this bag thinking it was just a tad larger than what it really is. I was going to use it as a backpack, but by the size of it I completely second guessed it and used an older backpack I once had. That one completely tore up and lack of money at the time forced me to use this. Thank God I did. My bag, considering I take AP was a mess since I never took the time to organize and I just got so used to the chaos within my backpack. Now, even though it is small and compact, all my AP binders, notebooks, etc. fit in here, and it's loads organized. :)

I bought this bag for school. It was perfect to fit a binder, 2 notebooks and a pencil bag. I used it all throughout my semester receiving great compliments about it until I had an accident. My friend spilled Powereade onto the bag and the next day it was discolored in the spots that were wet. The next day the spots turned into holes and now my bag is falling apart. Not sure as to why this happened but I suppose as long as you keep it safe, you'll love this bag. Completely worth the price even though mine is slowly falling apart.. I might buy another one.

GREAT!!!, February 20, 2011
By iSea
|

I waited a few weeks before writing my review. I was a little skeptical about its durability and size due to other reviews. I took the risk and bought it, though, because I just LOVED how it looked. It seems to be HIGHLY durable to me. I stuff this bag with my textbooks, notebooks, and folders everyday. I can usually fit one large textbook, a bunch of folders, a pencil case, a makeup case, 2 notebooks, a water bottle, a couple bags of candy, and 3 small reading books (Like MacBeth, for example). The strap has never even loosened itself, there are no loose stitches - let alone any rips. It is a little smaller than some bags are. I've stuck my 13" laptop in it, and it won't quite close all the way. I don't mind though (nothing falls out or anything, and it looks fine unclasped). I still carry my laptop around in there often. I love it! It's a very cute bag! (Also, I don't mind the brown leather straps on the front, as someone else commented on. And after a week or so, they don't look weird at all.)

Love the bag, it is made well and looks just like the picture so I wasnt disapointed when I got it at all. The only thing that I was not happy with is the fact that it took to long for it to arrive, I purchased it on Dec 11th and it didnt arrive till the 24rth, it took 2 weeks for the bag to come when I had made another purchase and it arrived in 8 days from China. I understand that it was the holidays but 2 weeks for that itwm was way to long. But over all I am happy with the bag.

Exactly what I wanted!, December 29, 2010
By collector (Tallahassee, FL USA)
|
|
It looks to me like the biggest complaint anyone has is over the size of the bag. Given that I have access to a tape measure and could calculate the dimensions of the bag, I decided that yep, this was what I wanted. I ordered the bag and upon receiving it could confirm that it was exactly what I wanted. True, there are no inner pockets, but that's what make-up bags and pencil cases are for, right? It's also surprisingly sturdy, since I carry a lot of stuff with me and it all fits neatly into my bag without any wear and tear so far at all!

The bag is fantastic. It's very sturdy, and has that great vintage look. It's best if you don't wash it for a while, and get it a little dirty. I use it from everything such as sneaking candy into the movies and taking books on long road trips. The only downside I can think of it also occasionally, a boon. The bottom isn't sturdy, but rather hangs out to be rounded whenever the heavy things are in it. Great for lightweight, daily use.
