It's not a cotton pad!, September 13, 2010

The New Point Home Deluxe 250-Thread-Count Cotton Damask Stripe Full Mattress Pad
This is nowhere near a cotton mattress pad. The only cotton is the top cover. The rest is plain old synthetic stuff.
The 1st time I washed/dried it it started to come apart and this was on lo heat to no heat.
So it is not as advertised. Definitely not a cotton pad. I never write reviews unless there is a huge disparity between what it's supposed to be and what I got.
I lost on this one.
ps: dentalBookshop wants to put this review in the kitchen. It's a bedding product.

Package extremely dusted and dirty. Ordered Twin-XL and received Twin (in Twin-XL package)., October 2, 2010
By Dani (Houston, USA)

I ordered a NewPoint Queenn and Twin-XL mattress pad for the new beds we bought for some relatives' visit this Friday. The order arrived quickly. When I took both mattress pad packages out of the shipping box, my hands got very very dirty by the dark dust on the packages. I had to wash my hand and use paper towel and water to clean the plastic packages at least twice. The paper towels used to clean got so dark every time I wipe the package. It never happened to anything I order at dentalBookshop before. I'm wondering what happened in their inventory storage. The bad experience isn't over yet. Today when I took the Twin-XL mattress pad out and tried to put it on the new Twin-XL bed, it turned out 5-inches short and couldn't fit. After measuring both and compared the product description, I realized that they sent a 75-inch long Twin mattress pad (in a Twin-XL package) to me. No wonder it doesn't fit. The Twin-XL mattress pad should be 80 inches long. I contacted dentalBookshop customer service who's going to send a replacement order for me, but of course he couldn't be sure that next time the stuff inside would match the package either. The mattress pad looks of very good quality. Let me keep my finger crossed and hope it was just an individual mistake in the inventory.

2 years and still in excellent condition, September 27, 2010
By Jim

I bought one of these 2 years ago (in July, 2008) to replace a deteriorated pad for one of the 2 full size mattresses in my house. (Both mattresses are the 9"" thick Sealy Posturepedic Silent Waters model.) Since then it's been slept on regularly, regularly washed and dried in a drier on low setting, and it hasn't shrunk or deteriorated in any way, and it is plush and palpably thick and comfortable. I've been using an older mattress pad on one of the beds. I don't know the brand, but it's not nearly as plush - it covers the mattress but barely adds any comfort - and after the last washing and drying about a week ago (I washed and dried both mattress pads together), it (the older pad, not the one under review) has apparently shrunk and keeps popping off the mattress. When I tugged on it to get it back on the mattress, the thin material on the side began to tear. So I will replace it with another one of these Newpoints. I am pleased to see that the price dentalBookshop is asking now (late Sept., 2010) is the same as what I paid 2 years ago.
Comfort = Excellent Durability = Excellent Quality = Excellent Fit = Fits 9"" Thick Mattresses Perfectly Cons = None

Very Comfortable, September 15, 2010

This product was such a great deal and it's very comfortable. I'd recommend it to anyone who's getting a queen size bed. dentalBookshop delivered it straight to my door and I didn't even have to leave the house to get it.

I am so very glad I bought this super mattress pad (poetry), October 5, 2010

I was suspect at first because it was packed so compactly, but this is really a wonderful pad! I bought it to start using up an dentalBookshop gift card but it was priced very competitively if not even better than ones I'd seen in the store. I am happy to recommend! one more tip...buy something else for over one penny and you can get free shipping! I bought some ""shipping eligible"" batteries for $1.07 and it put me over $25 threshhold so I saved all the shipping cost!

Top is great; stretchy bottom won't stay in place!, October 20, 2010
By Judy Smith (Middleburg, FL)

I love shopping at dentalBookshop but this mattress pad didn't live up to any of my expections. The top (pad) is great although I had hoped it would fit the whole 84"" of the length of the mattress. Some are listed as 39"" x 84"" and others are listed with a length of 80."" I wanted to use this on my husband's hospital bed and I have inserted an extra piece of rolled up foam at the end of the bed to give it the extra 4"" to better accomodate his height but even when I put the pad on just the mattress itself, it still won't stay under the mattress and pops off by morning and I have to remake from start each morning. I've finally taken it off and am back to using my extra queensize Beautyrest pad tucked in as best I can. XL twin bedding is difficult to find so shopping on line seemed to take care of everything at once. By the way, my mattress depth is 12"" and this pad is supposed to fit mattresses up to 22"" but definitely doesn't. Nor does it give the other measurements in the description. Most definitely did not live up to my expectations!! Judy Smith
