Good product, June 6, 2009

Vendor: Outstanding. Rec'd the shipment several days ahead of the stated standard shipment arrival date. The product was in original packaging and very neatly wrapped.
Product: Solid design and very light. I have a carbon fiber racing bike, which has been equipped with the lightest components. I did not want to compromise that. Also, I was looking for an aerobar with elbow rests spaced more widely. This is spaced nicely. The price was almost half of what the local stores were charging. Just a warning: If you have any components on your handle bar, they will have to be moved elsewhere (speedometer, light, etc.). All around I was very pleased with the product and the whole experience.

When you say clip you mean clamp?, April 2, 2010
By Anonymous (Los Angeles, California)

If you are not sure about investing in a full TT bike then this is a good piece to try out and see if a TT setup is for you. The finish and look of the bars is sexy, personally carbon always looks good. The assembly is straight forward. A word of caution check your horizontal bar diameter. Some handlebars have a larger diameter at where the stem and handlebar meet, from here it'll taper to a smaller diameter. If you intend to mount the bars close to the stem it will not hold because of this taper. Shims are provided but don't really help much. Other issues to be aware of is that it's a bolted clamp assembly which if you apply enough load to the bar it'll move. These are overall a good alternative to a TT bike.

Couldn't be more pleased with Carbon Strykes, April 24, 2009
By Fred Randal (Midwest)

After debating getting a set of Aerobars, I decided to get a set or Carbon Strykes off of Amazon.com. It was a very wise purchase, they were very easy to install. Most importantly very easy to adjust and are very comfortable to use! If one is a heavy commuter, I may recommend the ZB Flip up brackets to go along as well...

Aerobars aren't for everyone.., October 4, 2009
By John Q Public (Long Island, NY)

The Carbon Stryke aerobars are awesome. Lightweight, secure when properly mounted, comfortable to rest your elbows and hands on.
The catch is that it's not for everyone. I put the aerobars on my bike and found that I can't use it very much, because of the urban terrain I ride in-- You don't want to be in the aero position when riding down a stretch of urban street full of cracks and potholes-- You will lose your balance and wipe out. Don't ask me how I know.
I have since removed this set of aerobars from my road bike and put it on my time-trial bike instead. A very nice kit, but definitely not for casual / everyday urban-riding use!

Light and Inexpensive - Stylish Too, September 25, 2009

I highly recommend these aero bars. I didn't order the FLIP UP BRACKETS but did the next day after I received them. With the addition of the flip up brackets the aero bars are out of your way of your hands on your handle bars. Get the flip up brackets at the same time. These aero bars really compliment my carbon bike.

Profile Design "Carbon Strykes." Components too heavy., August 26, 2010
By Brad M. Purdy
|
|
Dear Profile Design: Please accept this Amazon review as a respectful suggestion. Your "Carbon Stryke" aero bars have awesome potential, but are more than twice as heavy as they need to be. The clamps attaching the aero bar to the handlebar, and the armrests which are made of solid, heavyweight aluminum, weigh more than the bars. One of your reps seemed to disregard the issue as insignificant. If Profile were to either hollow out the clamps and drill holes in the armrests, or utilize carbon fiber for both, the Stryke would be the best clip-on aero bar on the market, bar none (pun intended)! Sure hope you think seriously about it. I'd love to use my Strykes again.

Sweet Aerobar, August 1, 2009
By Ride the Octane (Wolcottville, IN USA)

This is my first pair of aerobars. I love them. They are light, stylish and most of all very customizable. I have spent many rides tweeking them and find that I can constantly get them better. I have made it to that point. Shifters are a great addition also, highly recommend shifters on the end. If your looking for a great aerobar this one is it.

StrykeTri Clip on Bars do the trick (not sure why it's labeled a "toy."), October 1, 2010
By Lee Fuller

|
I ordered this product in July 2010 and have been waiting to write my review until I've had a few miles under my belt. I did my first triathlon withOUT aero bars in July, and the next three with the StrykeTri bars. I have a Trek 2.3 road bike and the bars are a perfect fit for my bike.
I would absolutely recommend these bars (and bars in general) to anyone who is going to be doing triathlons. I gained 1 1/2 mph in speed simply from the improved equipment.
The bars are solid and light and the pads are very comfortable. I rest my entire upper body weight on the pads without a problem. My longest rides are around 40 miles.
My body is a bit different than most cyclist (wider shoulders and more mass) so I don't "fit" like a typical cyclist. These bars allowed for any adjustment that I needed to be comfortable. You can slide the bars forward or back on the horizontal plane (so your arms are further or less far over your front tire); You can tilt them up or down; The tubes rotate so the hand grips are more vertical, or more horizontal; And the pads can be moved further out toward the drops, or closer in toward the steering post. If you lift the padding off the elbow rests, the actual location on the cross piece of the steering wheel can be adjusted. (I left mine in the factory setting and can't speak to that specific adjustment other than to say it's doable.)
Although the adjustments are NOT "quick" release and must be done with an Allen wrench, I was able to tweak adjustment on the road quite quickly. (A quick note: I am not aware of any clip on bars that ARE quick release adjustable.)
The only thing to be careful about is to tighten the bars enough so they don't loosen as you ride while making sure not to over tighten as to damage the horizontal pipes. I under-tightened once and simply had to deal with it until I chose to stop and fix it.
I would strongly recommend this prouct.

I like these bars!, October 6, 2011
By JR

I bought these bars and they do a pretty good job. They are light weight with good padding. The ergonomics of the hand and elbow placement is pretty good although if you are not flexible, then you'll have to buy a separate riser to elevate your position on the bars. I have two concerns with carbon stryke bars.
One, they don't mount on tapered handle bars very well and because of that, it's difficult to get proper placement and set up. The other concern that i have is it doesn't come with a bike computer mount. That too costs extra. Over all, they are one of the best on the market, but with a few limitations.

Perfect., July 1, 2011

I had just been using a road bike to compete in triathlons with and wanted to get some bars to take me the next level without having to buy an expensive tri bike. These bars are amazing. Easy to install, and very sturdy. They are also pretty light, minus the hardware to install, but for the price I can't complain.

Carbon Stryke..excellent value, June 18, 2011
By KPMiles

Profile design did a good job with these bars. I prefer the shape in which the bar it angled up at the end, provides for a more natural grip. If your just starting tri/tt's and don't have or want to spend money on the tri/tt specific bike these are great.

Love these bars. Easy to install and doesn't add drag. Also very comfortable overall. Only note of concern is it took forever for them to arrive, so if you are interested in getting the bars on your bike quickly, this is not the way to purchase them.

Profile Carbon Stryke Tri Clip on Bars, August 20, 2009
By Keith J. Bolechowski (Rancho Cucamonga, CA)
|
|
I had researched many clip on aero bars and knew what I wanted for my all carbon bike. These bars work well, easy to install and easy to adjust to fit your riding position. I like that you can adjust to different positions and have noticed that I have decreased my ride times and feel very comfortable on long rides. No negative feed back on these bars yet.
