By bevann2 (Snellville, Ga.)

Easily used adjustment on women's bicycles to be carried on the Hollywood bicycle hitch rack. We carry 1 man's bike and 3 women's bikes on our car rack and these boomer bars are well made and easy to put on and take off.

Great for Cannondale SuperV Full Suspension, November 15, 2009
By A. L. Olson
|
|
Just recently purchased a Thule hitch mount bike rack and our Full Suspension bikes would not fit with what I felt was secure.
Purchased two of the Boomer Bars and they worked great so far. Lowered the level of our bikes to give a clear view out the back window and held both bikes straight and level.
We have two Cannondale Super-V Full Suspension bikes with oversized tubes and this made hanging these bikes from both the hitch mount bike rack as well as our inside bike rack a breeze!

why didn't I invent this?, September 22, 2010

If you need to transport a dual suspension bike, womens bike or a kids bike, then you need to have this bar (depending on your bike rack). I have a hitch-mount Thule bike rack and own three of these frame bars. I just recently bought one for my 6 yo son's bike, but I've been using these ever since I had a dual suspension mtn bike, (about 10 years ago). Lightweight and easy to use. My only gripe with this product is that I wish I had thought of it sooner!

Perfect for the two girl bikes we had, September 2, 2010
By Steven D. Rostedt (Endwell, NY United States)

We bought the Trule Roadway 4 bike hitch carrier
Thule Roadway 4 Bike Hitch Carrier
and after spending a half hour trying to get our four bikes to fit (2 boy bikes and 2 girl bikes) A decided to buy two of these boomer bars.
They worked out great. They were trivial to use and quick to attach and detach from the bikes. After attaching them to the two girl bikes all 4 bikes fit on the carrier easily. It took 5 minutes or less to get the 4 bikes on (much longer to attach the straps and bungee cords to the bikes but that has nothing to do with this product). I did use bungee cords as extra security to hold the bikes to the boomer bars, but that was more me being paranoid than out of actual necessity.
Note, the bikes used were 24" and 26" wheels, so they were both adult size bikes. They fit with the minimum setting so I can see that this may not work well with kid bikes.
We used this for a trip from upstate NY to Ocean City, MD and back (800 miles of driving). We had no issues and it made using the bikes with the carrier a breeze.

This is my second one to replace the one that was stolen. It is a little loose but when connected, it does it job well. It also has a good price compared to Yakima or Thule. I would recommend this adapter.

My little disappointment, January 6, 2011
By A Customer
|
|
I received my shipment on time but was a little disappointed when one of the bars felts very loose. When compared to the second one, which was much more stable and fit, this one was loose and the bars pulled away to easily. I don't think it will interfere with my towing, but I can picture it not being as stable as I would like. Overall, both bars look good!

It does what I need it to do. Fits a little loose around the seat post, but still works fine. No danger of the bike falling off or anything.

A necessity for women's bikes, October 11, 2010
By Ohio Girl (Cleveland, OH)
|

I just ordered a second one of these so that I can carry my women friends' bikes on my carrier. It's sturdy and keeps the bike level. Easy to install, although it's taken me about three outings to figure out why you need to have the small end on the seat post. Duh! The small end fits into the cup of the bike holder and enables you to position the bike snugly so that the anti-sway fits up against the seat post. Now that I know what I'm doing (I think!!), the whole thing should be a breeze. I also have the Hollywood Racks two-bike carrier and think it's great. I have to put a beer cozy on the pedal so that it doesn't scratch up the car bumper (learned the hard way), but it all seems secure and I haven't dropped the bike yet. A good product!!

Casual Cyclist, October 10, 2010

I have a Trek WSD 7000 (Ladies Bike). The bar was easy to put on and take off the bike. In addition, the metal loops at both ends of the bar are wrapped in rubber, which is great b/c it will not scratch your bike frame.

A must for a womans bike used with a bike rack., July 25, 2010
By Nidrew (Missouri)

Before we bought this we would have to mount the bike at a very steap angle to get it to fit on the back of a car mounted bike rack...and would be imposible with her new bike. there are cheeper and there are more expensive ones(like the one the bike shop wanted to sell us.) Although a simpler design this bar does the same thig very well...giving a womans bike the nesasary mounting points to easily put it on the rack.

Useful, November 18, 2010
By ThomasN (Houston, TX)

I mainly got this bike frame adapter because it will specifically fit my oversized Cannondale Super V bike frame and of course the smaller frame of the Trek Fuel EX 8. Bar feels solid and looks nice too. Btw, it's kinda misleading to prominently describe this as a "WOMEN bike rack frame adapter" when in fact it will work with most men & women's bikes and especially well on mountain bikes with large frames.

great bike rack, May 14, 2011
By OrangeYellowDog (Los Angeles, CA)

It arrived the next day! When it arrived my UPS driver said, "I have that same bike rack, it's great!"
It's a great bike rack although if you have a womens bike are a euro style bike that slopes in a curve such as a beach bike you are going to want to buy a crossbar just to make your life easier. Because my bike is so darn heavy and I am not super woman, a crossbar allows me to get my 50lb euro bike on that rack with less of a struggle. Of course if I were taller or a man I wouldn't need the crossbar as it is make to fit all sorts of bikes. It really fits 2 bikes comfortably. Now I need a bike rack rack so I can hang it when it's not in use.
