5.0 out of 5 stars.  GREAT chain lube, even for a lazy maintainer, October 29, 2009
By David Filmer (Portland, Oregon USA)
Sorry, but I don't trust anything but a wet lube to protect my chain in the wet Portland weather. And this lube does the job! I commute twenty miles each day over (mostly) paved streets (with three blocks of pure dirt). I'm terrible at maintenance - I lube my chain maybe every 60 or 90 days, and I have never really cleaned it. But this lube sees me through, despite my bad habits.

Apply it heavily, let it soak in, and wipe off the excess. You are now good to go in a rainy urban environment for months!

If you normally ride in wet dirt then you probably know this is not the product for you. But, if you ride on rainy streets, you cannot do better!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good stuff, March 5, 2010
By Marcus (Boise, ID)
I was using Tri flow super lubricant with teflon and I was having problems in the cold and wet conditions. basically it wasn't working at all. Id apply in the morning and on my way home my chain would be locking up. in comes finish line.

works much better in cold or wet conditions and lasts awhile. I think I might like it better than using teflon for all conditions. I have to do a direct comparison to be for sure but as of now I like the finish line wet lube.

as far as which lubricates better, id have to go with finish-line wet lube.

UPDATE: I love this stuff. I do, however, think that it does draw a little more dirt and grime than tri flow, but not by much. Seeing this I decided to try Finish Line DRY Teflon Bicycle Chain Lube. That stuff is DRY, let me tell you. Definitely does not work as well in the rain or cold and doesn't last half as long but the chain stays MUCH cleaner. You'd need to apply more often but clean much less which is VERY convenient. I use the wet lube in rain, snow and cold weather. I use the Dry lube for dry, dusty conditions. Boise is very dry so right now I use the Dry stuff more. But, as far as which lubes better in a controlled environment, I'd say the wet lube does a slightly better job.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best chain lube I have used, April 15, 2010

This is a great product, it goes on easily and keeps my chain silent and lubed for hundreds of miles.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  make sure you get the right size, April 29, 2010
By A. Popuri (NY)
This is a good product but I didn't actually get the cross country lube. I got the Finish Line Wet Lube. I'm pretty sure that that the Wet Lube the replacement to the cross country lube. Also, I didn't realize I ordered a 2oz lube bottle. It is TINY. Make sure you at least get a 4oz bottle if you want it to last. This lube is good, it just wasnt the lube that was shown in the picture.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great lube, October 18, 2010
By bishonen_no_miko
This lube goes on and cleans up easily, and since applying it my bike ride has been much smoother and quieter (the chain doesn't make a sound when switching gears). I haven't used it in wet weather, so I can't comment about that, but I think this makes a good general chain lube.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Slick and sticky, August 11, 2010
By Kevin McMurtrie (Silicon Valley, CA USA)
I've tried this on a couple of rides and found it to be a very effective chain lubricant. It's viscous, sticky, and keeps the chain moving smoothly. The downside is that it is messy and difficult to clean up. It will transfer to your clothes and it will deposit chunks of goo on your sprockets.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Works great in even with all the rain we have here, August 8, 2010
By G. Dombiak
I commute to work by bike doing a total of 18 miles a day. Where I live most of the days are rainy days so that puts a lot of stress/maintenance effort on the bike. Since I started using this chain lube I have a problem less to take care of. It last a lot, the chain sounds good so I'm happy with this lube. Will keep using it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good stuff, just watch the usage, June 9, 2011
By JP
This is good stuff. I commute in the NW so I ride in the rain a lot. It does just as advertised and lasts a long time however make sure especially with a wet lube that you're not applying too much to the chain (maybe one drop where each link connects) and wipe the chain thoroughly after application because this stuff will attract a lot of dirt and gunk to your chain if you use it too liberally. Leaving dirt on your chain is a good way to wear your chain out quickly and if you're not careful, you'll wear out your cassette cogs also.

This is the first and only bike lube I've ever owned, but from what I can tell it works great, definitely stops my chain from squeaking and lasts a while.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great goo....., August 11, 2010
By shutterbug (California)
I've used this for years. I get around 10K mi. on my chains, (10 sp. Campy) riding 175 mi. between chain cleaning and relube. It does turn black fairly quickly, but that is of little consequence. (Makes a cool chain-ring tattoo... ;)

4.0 out of 5 stars.  good stuff if you like to keep a tidy drive-train, August 5, 2010
By P. Mizulski
This stuff is good, but boy does it attract the grime. Call me obsessive compulsive, but I find myself cleaning and lubing every 60 or so miles. I love a wet lubricant 'cause I never know when a storm is going to move through my area. I love a shiny chain too, and this stuff in it's natural magnetism for dirt forces me to keep me chain clean and sparkly and slick as a Formula One piston ring. I don't mind getting my hands dirty to keep a clean drive-train, but I'm warning those maintenance free folk out there that this stuff requires a relatively high amount of elbow grease if you like to keep the goods grime free. In terms of slickness and smoothness - in my opinion - there's nothing else better out there. All I can hear while pedaling after a good cleansing and lubing is that beautiful mechanical whir. It's so smooth, just so-o-o-o-o smooth. Never have I found that same feeling of smoothness in a dry lube, which is why I'm willing to trade a bit of sweat for superior mechanical efficiency.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  This lube sticks!, April 14, 2010
By E. Chin (Boston, MA)
I used it to lube up an old chain that I degreased and it sticks nicely to the chain. It does pick up some dirt while riding around in the dry, but I can't say whether or not it is any more than you would get with a dry lube.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Works well, October 27, 2011
By Toolgirl Taylor (Northern Virginia)
I bought the "8-ounce" version shown here. The picture shows a plastic bottle, but when it showed up, it was actually a 7-ounce aerosol spray. I was initially quite disappointed, and nearly returned it unused. However, my bike chains were in terrible shape so I gave it a go. The aerosol sprays on and turns to green foam on the chain. The instructions say to let it sit for a while and to remove the excess with a towel. I let it sit for about 5 minutes and wiped off the excess. There was significant improvement immediately, but it took a while for the lubrication to penetrate deep into the chain. By the next day, the chains were riding like new.
The climate here is very wet, and we use our bikes to ride _through_ the local streams, and this lubrication has really held up nicely!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Works Great, May 27, 2011
By William Wendell Smith
I had a bit of a rusty chain that was starting to make a bit of noise, and I put this on - a month later, and there's still no sound. I even put a bit in my rusting Kryptolock that was getting harder and harder to open, and now it opens smoother than I ever remember it opening. Both lock and bike are outside in New England weather 24/7, so that was important.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Works well but messy, October 4, 2010
By jscalia (NJ, USA)
Appears to work well, however, it stays wet and is a bit messy if you are using your bike to commute as you will get black stains from the lube on your pants. In addition, you will need to reapply after heavy rain. I am considering going back to using a drier lube like Boshield.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Bicycle chain lube, May 21, 2012
By Rooster71156
Excellent product. I would recommend everyone use this product. I've used this product on 12 bicycles at the VA Center in Tomah, WI. All bicycle chains and derailers work great after using this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Works great, looks terrible, April 29, 2012
By Pen Name
This chain lube is great, especially for the price. At most bike shops a bottle this size would run you twice as much. It makes the chain runs super smooth and you don't have to reapply it too often. There is a catch though, this stuff gets dirty. Within a day of riding with this your chain will be completely black with dirt and grease and stain your leg or pants.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Gunked up my chain like crazy, April 20, 2012
By Trust me I Know (Delaware)
This lube gunks up like crazy on my MTB. Doesn't seem to matter whether I'm riding in wet or dry conditions it attracts ALOT of dirt. Maybe I'm using too much but even after a tune-up at the bike shop, where they applied this same lube, the gunk collected in a few rides.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Purchased because of reviews - Definately a 5 Star Product, March 26, 2012
By Jackal (Charlotte, NC)
I purchased this to lube my bike, but it turns out this is some of the best lube I've owned. I use it for door hinges, garage chain, bike chain, LCD wall mount/arm, and an anything else that would need lubricating. Just buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Finish Line Wet Lube, January 7, 2011
By James Killgo
This is the only bike lube I've used, so I can't compare it to the dry stuff. I can however say this does the job fairly well, lasts a long time and keeps everything moving great. It is a little messy, gets on your jeans, and can gum up the works if you don't clean ever so often. This isn't really a problem to me since I do frequent maintenance, but I could imagine some people would be put off by the grime. I like it though and will buy again. It smells great too!
