4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good basic mountain bike fenders, excellent value, November 25, 2009
By Seth T. Hoffman
You really can't beat these for the price. They're not perfect, but considering the price and the fact that they're not full fenders, I really can't knock them.

I bought these for my college commuter bike, which is a mid-quality suspension-fork mountain bike with 2.125x26" tires. They fit pretty well, albeit with a few snags as one should expect for universal fenders of any kind. Some of the brackets took a bit of tweaking, but everything went together with the included hardware.

The front fender does a great job of catching water thrown off the wheel and it conforms well to my 26" tire. It does bounce a bit on bumps and smacks the tire, but the bottom is tapered away from the tire so it doesn't get caught, it just slaps the tire once.

The rear fender isn't quite as nice as the front one as it arches up over the rear tire, leaving about a 3" gap at the top of the tire. It has a steel stiffener which helps keep it aligned over the tire, but it is still somewhat flexible side-to-side due to the lack of truly solid mounting brackets. It does the job, but it looks a little funny. It also doesn't protect the seatpost and bottom bracket from water, so your feet will catch a bit of water from here. This really isn't the fault of the fenders though, as they aren't intended to be full fenders.

Overall, I'd recommend these, especially considering how difficult it can be to find even decent fenders for mountain bikes. Their utilitarian performance combined with the low price makes them an excellent value.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Keeps your pants and bag cleaner, April 13, 2009
By Frank
I ride my bike about 3 miles daily around my campus. These mudguards keep my pants and backpack dry and clean and. I used zip-ties to attach the rear fender because my frame wasn't the type the fender was designed for, but it still works fine.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Decent for the price..., July 28, 2008
By Mr. Rose
This does a decent job. I wish the fenders were longer. On a 26" wheel, I still get rocks hitting my feet on the pedals. The rear fender is also too short, but also mainly due to the fact that the bike I'm attaching it to (mountain trailz electric) seems more elongaged, and so the rear piece has to go farther up to properly attach to the post.

This product is flexible to attach, but more flexibility would be nice...

All in all for the price, this is a decent buy. I'll probably look to get longer ones in the future...

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Not for all Bikes - Check your bike stem first, August 28, 2009
By K. Pereira (Chicago, IL)
I have a 2009 Trek 7300 Hybird that I ride daily to and from work, even in the rain. The front fender fits beautifully on it and has prevented my bike from picking up a lot of sticky road gunk. The rear fender however does not fit at all...but that's more a design of my rear bike stem than a problem with this fender. Therefore the rear fender is NOT universal...I bought the SKS X-Tra Dry Rear Bicycle Fender as a replacement, which does fit and is universal (goes around any bicycle seat rod). Make sure you know how your bike forks are designed.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Not for suspension bikes, November 30, 2008
By D. White
I would not have bought this set, even as cheap as it is, if I had known it wouldn't fit suspension bikes. The front fender fits, but you can't make the back one fit. There was nothing in the posting for it that let you know that. If you have suspension in the back, buy the fender with the nylon binding system. Niagra Falls Bikes are good people, though.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Not Bad for $, April 5, 2009
By dakotaZX3 (Grand Forks, ND)
Like I said in my title- these little fenders do the job I ask of them. I have them installed on my girlfriend's Trek 7150 Hybrid bicycle. The rear fender is EXTREMELY close to rubbing though, and this is my only complaint. They were cheap, and keep the rain and mud off of us.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  sks adventure fenders WILL DO THE JOB, March 30, 2009
By skhoolbiker (saint paul, mn)
I guess you get what you pay for. At $15, these fenders are pretty good for its price since it does come with the hardware needed to install the fenders. They are wide enough to fit 26-28 inch wheels with road or hybrid tires but I'll warn mountain bikers with wide tires, they might not work as well as with these kinds of tires. I give it 3 stars because the height of the front fenders cannot be adjusted like rear fenders. I will have to make adjustments to get the front ones to fit properly without rubbing the tires. Overall, they will protect you from puddles of water and mud for the most part, and they should hold up under any circumstances.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  These fenders suck a donkey's butt, November 4, 2011
By Johnny F! (Sacramento, CA)
Do not purchase these fenders. The bolts and nuts used to attach them did not fit correctly. Nothing aligned correctly over the tires. Stay away.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Gets the job done, not 100% universal, September 26, 2011
By JonS
This would have fit perfectly on my mountain bike, but it went on my girlfriends bike. The tubes on her bike required me to bend the fenders quite a bit to avoid tires rubbing the fenders. So I'd recommend this on a guys style mountain bike and not a girls style bike. It works on a girls bike, it just requires some modification/bending.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Not what I expected, July 24, 2011
By Rising 2L (Chicago NY)
I purchased this item to use a fender for when I bike to the train in the morning, however the front fender came with two different and equally inadequate length screws for my bike's front wheel attachment and thus the front one fell off while I was riding. The back one despite actually fitting and being secured according to instructions continues to slide over and thus not offer protection.

Fenders were easy to install on my old Trek, no shock mountain bike. Seem durable and they do the job. I recommend them.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  great fender.....crappy mounting hardware, May 5, 2011
By michael luostari
I bought these fenders for my commuter bike that has a frame (08 globe centrum sport) that doesn't accept most other fenders. They attach really nicely to my frame. They work really well. The one thing that kept me from giving them five stars is the horrible hardware for mounting the front fender. I went to the local hardware store and got the same style hardware but of much better quality for about a buck. I would definitely recommend them to people....just buy better hardware for the front.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good fenders for usual bike, May 3, 2011
By Miriel
Well, I had to adjust them for my wife's bike like for 1 hour (the angle of the front fender does not seem right) + rear fender does not 100% protect your back from the dirt. Anyways, it's a great deal for that money.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Seemed like a great product, but missing mounting hardware, April 6, 2011
By Kekailoa (Honolulu, HI United States)
Amazon seemed to have shipped this product to me without the necessary mounting hardware. I went down to a local bike shop and the clerk showed me what is supposed to come with the product. I double checked the packaging and was not able to locate the mounting parts and promptly returned this to Amazon. Since I now have a rear rack, I will evaluate if I will reorder this set, or find one made for racks, or just get the front fender.

The fenders are made from a decent grade of plastic, but I couldn't help but wonder if it will get brittle over time. I have seen others with this fender and it seems to keep them clean in the rain, as no one has complained yet. Be sure to check if it will fit your bike as well. I have a Giant Yukon hardtail and the bike shop said this would fit.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Did't fit my mountain bike, April 1, 2011
By Arturo
Only the front fit perfect and looks great. Not the rear one. There is no other option to instal it on my bike. There is no arch on top the rear weel. But the product is nice. Good stuff. I would recomend it to thoese who have a regular bike and only especific models of mountain bikes. Check well your bike before you purchase yours.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice fenders!!!, November 3, 2010
By Artemisa (Caracas, Venezuela)
The main structure is solid and it fit well in my bike. However, I would encourage designers to improve the bottom joint of the rear fender. I would recommend this product!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good value, September 19, 2010
By cthompson012 (Connecticut)
Are they perfect? No. Do they do the job? Yes.

I have a 15 y/o non-suspension Mongoose Mountain bike. The fenders went on pretty easily and do the job. They are adjustable and I had no trouble mounting them. For less than $15.00 I can't complain.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Not for all bikes, February 24, 2010

I have an older Trek 7000 Mountain bike (front suspension). and the front fender fits, but the rear fender does not. The design of my bike doesn't allow the rear brackets to attach.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  nice fender set, February 28, 2009
By Y. Cheng
The fender which came with the bike I bought was broken while I was trying to attach it to the bike. I had to buy another set for my bike. The quality of this set is good -- much better than the one came with the bike.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great so far, December 5, 2011
By the commuter (Colombia)
Easy to install, front and back. I have a 26inch, Mongoose Mountainbike. Maybe front screw was little short but it worked. I use the bike to commute and like to jump every time I can; after a big jump, the fenders are still there. Great buy

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Doesn't fit 50% of the bikes I own, September 23, 2011
By Josh
The rear fender fits one of my bikes, the front fender only fits the other bike. I had to do some modifications for the rear fender on my Raleigh MTB with some zipties. The front fender will definitely not fit with modifications. On the other bike, the front fender fits, but its a poor fit. and I can't modify the rear fender to fit and older Schwinn MTB. This model was before Schwinn sold out and their bikes became crap. Email me if you have any questions about fitting the product. I would spend a few more dollars and get a better product.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Transaction, September 10, 2011

Product as described and delivered within the specified time frame. I would always recommend purchasing products that AMAZON fulfills. Product was initially received without the hardware, but once I contacted Amazon, they reordered it for me and was received within a reasonable time frame. I would buy from this seller again.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Complete Garbage, September 12, 2011
By Jason Hudson (Arkansas, USA)
This item is garbage. Literally. After an hour dealing with parts that don't work and that don't fit, I gave up and just threw it away. Just cheap, cheap plastic that doesn't fit together and breaks if you barely try. There were no written instructions and the pictures didn't at all match the connections on my bike (2011 Trek 4 Series). SKIP!
