Simple and effective, November 6, 2010

It mounts and dismounts from the bike in seconds. It's wide enough to keep the mud from being flung into my face, but sends it on my feet and shins instead. That's what you can expect from any of the down-tube mounted fenders. I use it on my Pugsley with 3.7" wide tires and it does what I expect it to do.

Nice looking front fender, September 18, 2009

I looks to nice in my MTB. No tools are needed to installed. It will take a while to figure out how to installed...But you wont have a mud-line mark at your front of your jersey while running MTB in a wet trail. Remember...wet trail. No mud trail.

almost perfect, December 14, 2010

So my mountain bike has Fox Talas 36 forks, which seem to preclude the use of the mudguards which plug in at the bottom of the fork. Having been thoroughly sprayed in the face by cold rain coming off the front wheel I decided to try these downtube fenders. This particular model is pretty wide and relatively long, and is successful in catching most of the spray unless I go too fast -- the only limitation is that the steering tube (Intense 6.6) is too wide for the gap (lower right hand side in the product image) to allow the fender to move higher up the downtube. All in all, it works very well (and has a pleasant price), and my face is the happier for it!

This fender worked better than I expected. It keeps me decently dry on wet roads. It also mounts well on my bicycle.

Hope it rains or snows soon so I can fully test this out!, October 17, 2011

Pros:
-Easy install! If you can hold a pencil, you can set this up.
-Will fit any size frame tubing I've ever seen.
-Includes shims for cables strung on the bottom of your downtube, or just to protect the paint.
-Pretty lightweight, only 99 grams, if you are concerned by such things.
-molded of 2 different plastics, so lower/tail end is more forgiving of rocks and bumps, top is stronger/thicker
Cons:
-appears short (on my bike it does anyhow)
Breakdown:
I can't wait for the winter weather to roll into the Denver area so I can test this out! It seems kinda short on my bike, but I also ride a pretty big bike. This should be great on any average sized bike. It installs very easily via 2 stretchable rubber straps. These feel very secure for now, but I'm not sure they'll hold up well to the chemicals used on public roads here. I'm expecting I'll need to replace these straps with something more durable, but should easily last this winter. It hasn't really rained here recently, so I'm not sure how much good this will really do yet. The combination I have of this plus front and rear motocross style fenders has me optimistic though.

No Wet Crotch!, January 31, 2012
By Iguanian (Indianapolis, IN)

I've had a mountain bike for years and never really thought about it as more than just basic transportation. Well, once I started riding into work, I discovered that it also saves me over $100 a month in parking fees alone.
Excited by this, I am riding in every day if I can, which means even when the weather is less than a downpour. With bad weather, puddles, salt on the roads, snow and slush are all new challenges I've previously never had to deal with on a bike. The biggest of which, with the salt added for winter, is the spray on my clothes that not only makes me look like I wet myself, but also turns white and crusty.
Not the best look for an office.
So, without having to deal with a professional installation due to time and money, I bought this fender and even though there are no actual instructions with the piece, there are only a couple of ways the thing can fit on the bike, so it took me about 5 minutes to install.
The only downsides to the product is the relative impermanence of installation. I was expecting a ziptie sort of mechanism, but the rubber straps, while very nice for not marking up the bike and being secure, are a couple quick yanks from being removed from the bike. I may go back and add in a couple ties, even though that isn't prevention, if it is more difficult, that will dissuade the casual thieves.
The other issue is the rubber spacers. I understand the purpose of them is to keep the fender off the cable controls to the brakes and shifter, but they either are more effective on different models of bike frame, or I somehow installed them in the four holes provided incorrectly; and since there are four spacers and four holes, I suspect the former.
Now the cables don't actually "rub" on the fender, but there is some play in it so that there is occasional contact. I assume this is what the "bi-material" formulation described in the product sheet is for - harder material that resists abrasion on the area where the cables run, flexible material to protect against the mud and rock chips.
Overall, this does exactly what it is supposed to do, and at a very affordable price point that gets the job done without feeling cheap, even if the method of securing it to the bike is cheap. If you are going to cut corners, I'd prefer it there, since if it didn't stop mud and rocks, there would be no point. Attachment can be improved upon as needed.

Fits well on my old Mountain bike. Looks good and attaches easily. Should mount to almost any bike. Good design. Friend of mine has one too and his one has definitely got a lot more mileage on it. Recommendable.
