Customers' Reviews:
It's different than the Oral-B
4 out of 5 stars.
My wife and I have used the Oral-B device for about 15-20 years. Our dentist and his staff of oral-hygentists have recommended us to use the Phillips Sonicare many time when we ask for their opinions. I finally found a great deal on Amazon and took the plunge. It's been over a month now and the first thing I noticed was how more smooth my teeth felt after a "brushing."

It takes a bit of getting used to though. The Oral-B was wider like a typical brush, while the Sonicare is only half the width. The difference means that you hit your teeth with the edges of the Sonicare brush and it doesn't feel good. That vibration is close to painful because it resonates all through your jaw. It's been over a month and I still can't get the knack of it. With the narrower head, I can't get the right angles needed in the back of the teeth, so I've had to adjust, but the design isn't allowing for what I have been used to in my brushing routine. So - it's different. Better - not really, but perhaps my next dentist appointment will tell me more.

These were great before Phillips turned them into junk
1 out of 5 stars.
I owned an old Sonicare for many years. It was great. After five years, I purchased a new one. This was after Phillips bought the company. It failed in a year. They replaced it. The replacement has now failed a few months later. They refuse to replace it again. What's interesting is that I had inadvertently called the professional customer service line (for dentists) a few minutes before getting this run-around. There I was told the replacement model had a known history of failures and they would replace it with an improved version. When he found out I was a retail customer he said he couldn't do it and gave me a different number. A that line (retail customer service_ they told me that there was no problem with the unit and they would not replace it. This despite the fact that it was only nine months old and had a documented history of failures. When I told them what I had been told by the other guy, the response was that he was wrong.

Phillips seems to have no commitment to the product other than to overcharge and gouge customers. Only a fool would buy something from them.

My Teeth have never been cleaner!
5 out of 5 stars.
This two handle pack is less expensive than buying two separate ones. It really cleans my teeth! It is noticeably better than my old OralB unit. The auto shutoff and 30 second warnings are something you have have to get used to. Eventually you can develop some sort of rhythm with the brush so you are not halfway done when it decides to shutoff. Very good buy.

it's even better than previous model

I have been using sonicare since it came out for the first time. The condition of my teeth has never been better.Fewer cavity's,less cleaning by the dentist.

Where's the ear plugs????
3 out of 5 stars.
I'm not sure what the problem is, but there are three of us in our family, so I purchased this two-handle pack as well as a single pack separately. They are all flex care systems. The single brush has a different colored handle (more like a mint-green and white) while the two pack is the light blue and white. The single brush I purchased (the green flex care brush 6910) is just fine. Quiet works great & my son loves it!! The two-pack has something seriously wrong with it. The brushes are both SO LOUD that you dread brushing your teeth. I get up very early and feel like I'm waking the entire house when I brush my teeth. My sons brush (the single) makes no where near the kind of sounds mine does. Funny thing is, the second brush in this two-pack does the same thing!! Defect? Not sure... I've written a note to Philips Sonicare asking about any issues.... I'll post again when I get the scoop. Does a great job, but the noise is incredible!

**UPDATE** I was finally able to reach customer service for the SoniCare and they first suggested that I replace the brush head (which is brand new... 1 month). That didn't help, so they suggested I return it --- but, silly me, I don't have the box anymore, so I'm stuck with one NOISY toothbrush. Well, at least my teeth are clean!
