Best shades ever, March 11, 2011
By Michael Dean (Omaha, NE USA)
|
|
I'm an avid cyclist, so having good shades is an absolute must. I decided to go with the black & smoke design, and I certainly wasn't disappointed. These glasses meet my needs in a number of ways. First of all, I have a relatively large face, so these shades were perfect because of their generous size. They wrap around my field of vision well to keep out as much unwanted sunlight as possible. If you have a relatively small face, you may want to reconsider buying these glasses. Secondly, they are very reflective, making it impossible for people to see your eyes. Thirdly, they have the perfect amount of tint. Enough to keep out harmful UV rays, yet not too much. They are light enough that when I bike under a dimly lit overpass, I can still see the trail in front of me. Fourthly, they are very lightweight and comfortable to wear for hours at a time. Finally, they look super cool, which is a huge plus, and are suitable for not only recreational use, but everyday wear as well. To sum it up, these are some fantastic shades for a bargain price of 20 bucks.

great glasses, May 24, 2008
By SOLD
|
|
I am a female who bought these glasses for doing work in the outdoors or just to go on walks with the dog. Today was the first day I wore them outside and they were very comfortable. I was afraid when I purchased them that they would look too big on my face, but I was wrong. The fit very nicely and don't look oversized at all. I would highly recommend these glasses to anyone who spends a lot of time in the outdoors.

Okay, A Couple Major Flaws, May 21, 2009
By Got any change? (Warner Robins, GA)
|
|
These are okay sunglasses with one major flaw: The lenses tend to reflect your eyeballs back at you in certain lighting conditions.
For looks they're okay, wide enough to block light coming from the sides. The lenses are slightly too large from top to bottom (cheek to brow) toward the center by the nosepiece though, making them look a little too large for my face.
The frames are light and sturdy, and they don't strike me as a pair of sunglasses that I should expect to break easily, which is their strongest point.
The price seems about right, coming right in line with what you'd expect to pay for glasses of equal quality off the rack at any major retail outlet. Don't be misled by the crossed out higher price on this page though - they wouldn't sell for that much if you could hold them and see them in person before buying.
They're far from the worst sunglasses I ever put on, but they're far from the best. The good news is that this vendor seems to be responsive enough to customer concerns, so I wouldn't discourage you from giving the glasses a try if you like what you see here. Hope you find the review helpful in helping you decide.

Great Glasses, low price!, May 15, 2009
By mauurenaa (Costa Rica)

Glasses are great, light, comfortable, and fit just perfect in my face. I used them for Road biking, and even with all that sweat the glasses always stay clean. If you compare an expensive pair of biking glasses and these, I have to say that the only difference I see is the price.

Really Bad Customer Care, April 4, 2012
By Caesar
|
|
"Delivery was not in time, product doesn't meet description, badly manufactured, loose frame, loosely fit, too big." Exact words I submitted for Seller Feedback, and yes I do mean that. Delivery was 3 days late, loose joints and non-symmetrical build.
I returned the product and got an email from a staff from Customer Care, JiMarti LLC named Misty B, saying my feedback was completely off base and uninformed and they would appreciate it if I remove it and they also offered something else for replacement at their cost.
I replied explaining that that I'd expect more from a 4.5 stars product on Amazon and pointed out my dissatisfaction of the item and I got a reply of arrogant response saying "Thank God 99% of our Customers disagree with you!" (exact words copied and pasted).
Rather than feeling "cared" I feel provoked and I replied asking them to check the item since I just shipped it back and it should arrive in a few days, told them if they find the quality differ from their similar product then they lack quality control, or else I'm just a really picky customer. Wishing them all the best with their business, I am very upset with the last reply.
"YEP...WE AGREE!
THX MAN!!
M" (exact words copied and pasted from the email I received).
I am really upset and annoyed with the tone used in these emails, presented arrogance and self-obsession with the all-capped emails, repeating punctuation, and the choice of words they used.

comfortable and light, October 22, 2011
By Rommel (Los Angeles, CA USA)
|
|
its so light that you hardly know its there when you wear them. the frame is made of flexible plastic with rubber pads at the temple tip and nose bridge. the size is perfect for large heads. no painful pinch at the temple. i got the amber colored lens for driving. they add contrast while reducing haze and eye fatigue.
my only gripe is the lens came with a few scratches on the left side. they were small enough and well below the horizon that i did not bother asking for a replacement.
UPDATE: i ordered one of every color except the orange revo and blue. they all have the same build quality and comfort. my favorite are the red, green and grey lens. the red lens is good for driving in overcast days. its not quite as dark or color saturated as the amber lens but still reduces haze. the green lens is just soothing to the eyes, perfect for indoor and low light situations. the grey lens is perfect for working in front of a computer monitor for prolonged periods. it reduces eye strain but does not affect or shift color.

PERFECT BUDGET SUNGLASSES, September 12, 2009
By Bruce R. Baral (LONG BEACH, CA USA)

I've paid 10 times this much for sunglasses to run in only to see them fall apart after only a few weeks. This pair is built like an "armored tank" and is perfect for my daily 5 mile runs.

Great sunglasses for a great price, June 15, 2009
By C. Garvie (New York, NY)
|
|
Wore these sunglasses on a five-hour bike ride and they performed perfectly. They're comfortable, lightweight and stylish. The "Smoke" lens color is the perfect shade and contrast for all-day riding -- dark enough for full sunshine yet suited for shady conditions as well. I didn't experience any fogging of the lenses, and the upper rim is high enough to allow ample visibility even when riding aero.
In summary, great sunglasses for a great price. I'm ordering another pair just to have around in case I lose these.

Great Sport Sunglasses, December 14, 2010
By R. M. Groff (Tolland, CT United States)
|
|
I was looking for inexpensive sunglasses for my car. I ordered two different pairs. The XS Sport Wrap TR90 and P4 Polarized Super Light sun glasses.
The glasses gave me great protection and the vision was crystal clear! I really like the fit, comfort and weight of the glasses. In my view, they offer outstanding value.
Since I got two pair, I will use one of the sunglasses a lot more next year when I am able to go back to my roadbike. Great value and great service. All commitments by JiMarti Sunglasses were made as promised.

Awesome sunglasses, June 17, 2011
By mtbiker

These sunglasses are awesome. They do exactly what I want them to do as a cyclist. They work well Mountain Biking and on the Road. They fit lose on my large head and do not cut off circulation. The lenses allow for plenty of airflow to my eyes but not enough to dry them out.

A Pleasure to Use, June 16, 2011
By Tabitha (So.Cal, USA)
|
|
I am a recreational runner (about 15 miles a week) and I live in an area that gets 360 sunny days a year so excellent eye protection is an absolute must.
I bought these because my regular shades tend to fog up before I hit the one mile mark. I didn't realize how heavy my regular shades were until I got these.
They are very light and only fog up when I wear them too close to my face. A minor adjustment allows the air to flow and the fog clears right up. I have worn them for 2 weeks and approximately 25 road running miles. I got the silver/orange style and they make me look like a 70s Comic Book heroine (that's a good thing). My small children think I'm a super hero. They call me Rainbow Girl. I'm not sure what her powers are, but I'll take it.
They seem durable. The price was about right. The shipping fees and timing were reasonable. I didn't experience my eyeball reflecting back at me that the other reviewer did and I like that others can't see my eyes with this model. Dunno why exactly but I like that bit of privacy.
The reasons I didn't give them 5 stars are because the arms interfere with my headset and that is very annoying. I have to adjust every half mile if I want to keep my music in my ears and their "footprint" is rather large. They take up a lot of real estate in my purse.
Otherwise a fine product and I would recommend them if you need something and don't want to spend a lot of money.

Great Glasses, May 4, 2011
By Zidane (Madison, WI USA)
|
|
I tried another brand of sunglasses from Amazon and they broke about 8 months later. I wasn't too happy with them anyway, because the frames seemed weak and the lenses scratched easily.
These XS Sunglasses (I got the Gunmetal, but the sides looked more dark blue to me) seem pretty solid. The lenses are ENORMOUS - they completely cover my eyes (unlike some looser-fitting glasses where the sun can get at you) and are nice and dark. I'll submit a follow up if necessary, but they seem (at first glance) to be pretty good sport glasses.

Perfect Cycling Glasses!, November 7, 2010
By T. Donaldson (Phoenix, AZ)
|
|
This was my first time buying cycling glasses on Amazon and I couldn't be happier! These glasses are great. I've used them for both road biking and mountain biking. They're super comfortable, they don't fog up and so far they've held up well. I purchased a second set of the same style with the night green lenses for night time riding, and they too deliver with great eye pertection and are super comfy. I choose these instead of others because they are not polorized, which can cause issues when viewing LCD bike computer screens. I wouldn't necessarly say these compare to Oakleys or Nikes, but for the price they can't be beat. Highly recommended!

Fantastic sports sunglass!, April 22, 2010
By C. Won (San Francisco, CA)
|
|
I've been wearing the "black and smoke" sunglasses for nearly a month, driving or bicycling with, and there hasn't been a problem for me...yet. I was surprised that this pair actually had a little more space left around my head (specifically my temples) since I have a somewhat round face and medium-to-large size head. But these sunglasses are definitely for people with larger heads. The tint of lens of the "black and smoke" version is a bit darker as compared to the picture above, though it's still see-through.
[The JiMarti JM01 Sunglasses for Golf, Fishing, Cycling-Unbreakable-TR90 Frame (Black & Blue) had a tighter fit on my face than the XS Sport Wrap.]

Nice sunglasses for the price, June 26, 2009
By L. Shulthise
|
|
Of all the choices for these sunglasses this tint is the lightest and mose useful. Its an amber tint. The other tint choices are VERY dark and are too dark for me except on the brightest days. The amber tint is very nice for any light level that requires sunglasses.
They are called unbreakable but they seem like they would be easy to snap to me. The nose piece occasionally comes off of one pair that I have but I think if I epoxy it on it will be fine.
These sunglasses are VERY comfortable and look good too. I recommend them to anyone wanting a low cost pair of glasses.

Great sport glasses, March 27, 2009
By thundernlightning (Newark, DE USA)

I bought these because I run and my regular sunglasses would steam up and I'd have to remove them, if I wanted to see. I have a very narrow face and it's difficult for me to find glasses that fit my face. These work wonderfully. They are very light and even though the really cold weather has passed they see to be what I need.

good looking, January 22, 2009
By Don Goz

I bought these for cycling, but I put them on and looked in the mirror and it was so coooooool. I sure will be using it for more things than cycling. I love them. I'm yet to cycle with them, but I know they will be good because it has a snug fit, it is wrap around enough to protect my eyes from wind, dust, and flying insects. I had been using my regular casual Ray Ban's shades for cycling and it didn't do a great job, apart from the fact that I was always careful and uneasy to avoid my expensive Ray Ban's from accidental breakage. Now I can cycle as fast as I want on my MTB down rough trails etc. I even got a free pair of shades with my sport wrap sunglasses.

Great sunglass for the price, August 25, 2011
By Yasushi Saito
|
|
Pros: it's extremely lightweight, and the vision is crisp. I've been using it during regular running sessions. It fits securely on my face and doesn't move at all, yet the the fit feels loose -- I feel no squeeze in any part of my face.
Cons: I can't think of any.
Overall, it's a great pair of glasses, especially for the price < $20. Believe me, it's in a completely different class from these $10-$15 glasses you find in Walmart.
I've used for just a few weeks so I can't comment on its durability. But its build looks sturdy, so I don't have much concern about it.

Small Head? No Worries!, April 28, 2012
By www.sylvaniamania.com (Pennsylvania)
|
|
I bought the TR90 sunglasses for walking my dogs. Generally, I hate sunglasses, but these are the best pair I've ever owned. The tint is so light, you don't even have to take them off right away when you go inside, but at the same time you can walk directly into the sun without squinting. I looked at these specifically because they advertised anti-glare, and they hold up to the hype. I noticed a lot of people said they weren't for people with smaller faces, but I can tell you that's not necessarily true. I'm 4'10', with an appropriately small head, and they fit me great--I can hang my head upside-down and they don't move. They look a LITTLE big for my face, but not overwhelmingly so. I've already bought a pair for my husband, since they work so well for him, too!

For sports use, these are too small, December 9, 2008
By Jenn (Chicago, IL)
|

I bought these to use for running. I would never wear these for fashion purposes, though. They are too small for my face. The small size also lets a fair amount of sunlight in, so I wear them with a visor. It was a good price for an item I tend to lose often, but I would not buy these particular ones again.

Won't go back to expensive glasses, May 22, 2012
By R. Hardy
|
|
I ride about 200 miles a week and have gone through several pairs of glasses in the last few years. At times if they get uncomfortable, or if the sun goes behind a cloud, I'll slip them onto the collar of my jersey to give the eyes some breathing room for a few minutes. A bump or two later and they're chattering away into multiple lanes of traffic (I'm pretty sure glasses are designed to bounce in the direction of the most possible traffic in any given situation).
Anyway, tired of looking for deals and trying to keep things affordable, I gave these a shot. I was certainly hesitant to purchase online for obvious fit reasons. That being said, I have a larger head (I wear a 7 3/4-5/8 ball cap), and these fit perfectly. They feel loose... but don't budge once they're on. They don't slide down my nose, and while they're dark enough to sheild from the sun, they're certainly light enough that I have had no issues riding in thunderstorms when the sky is darkened. I wouldn't wear them at night... but they're not magic, so I don't expect that. They are also extremely comfortable, so between that and the nice level of shade, I don't think I'll be taking them off nearly as frequently.
For $20, I'll certainly be buying another pair when I break these (by my own fault) in about 6 months.

I didn't expect much from it for $20, but it works great with running/biking. Fits perfectly. No glare. Although my head is on the bigger side, so others might find the frame and glasses covering a little more than necessary.
