2.0 out of 5 stars.  look nice, but almost no padding, June 23, 2009
By California Bike Rider (Newport Beach, CA USA)
These gloves look nice in the picture, but they are extremely thin, offering very little padding for a bike rider. Stylish, but not too practical.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  A Little Small?, June 2, 2009
By N. Rengler (Kitsap Peninsula, WA)
Seem good quality - excellent service/shipping; BUT
I have worn size large for years and though these are so marked, they seem a bit snug for me. I'll wear these; but if I ever order replacements, I will order a size larger than usual.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  OK glove, August 1, 2009
By Allen N. Jarvis
I just do not get how any glove could be worth more than a few dollars. These were inexpensive, true to size, and OK looking. Each week these gloves get put into the washer and dryer without undue shrinkage. The padding is ineffective just like gloves costing 3x more. The backing is not the most absorbent for wiping your brow. My first pair lasted me over a year, and I would expect much the same with this pair.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Like KEWL man - KEWL, June 25, 2011
By Old Hippie (St. Louis, MO.)
These are similar but not exact to some Avenir Classic Comfort Cycling Gloves I had previously purchased. These gloves help "wick" away moisture & perspiration better from the top of your hands. The medium size did seem a little snug at first - but stretched out enough after the first couple of rides. If in doubt - you may want to order one size up.

A few people have complained about the thin padding. Maybe I'm a liitle different. I don't like a lot of padding - just enough to take the edge off is good for me. Do I use these extensively? YES! 20, 25 & 30 mile rides are not out of the question, possibly up to 3 times per week. I'm retired...if I feel like going for a long ride whenever - I go & go & go...

Gloves with really thick padding (to me) take away all the "feel" of riding. Before ya know it, your hands are numb & you can't figure out why. Using these gloves & changing hand positions from time to time on my road bike work out well.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Right price.. helps hands, July 19, 2009
By J Gehring (Boston, MA)
I do a lot of biking and found this to be a great product. Cuts down on blisters and they are light! First pair of gloves, I am satisfied with the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A lightly padded cycling glove - for hiking poles!, October 27, 2009
By DaveO (Silverdale, WA USA)
My wife likes these a lot. They're a good looking, sturdy pair of light gloves which I got for her based on reviews that said they were lightly padded. For a bike, perhaps, but for hiking poles -- she thinks they're just right. I hike too, but being a tough guy, I don't use gloves for my poles. I do use gloves for my bicycles, and I've never needed lots of padding; just a good grip. I've ordered a pair of these for my next bicycling gloves, but they'll have to wait 'til spring for a ride.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Avenir Cool Cycling Gloves, May 19, 2010
By love to read (Sparta, TN United States)
The gloves are a little tight - just need some more breaking in. Otherwise they fit well and are quite comfortable. A good choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great gloves, August 17, 2009
By Michael Smigielski (Ypsilanti, MI)
I was looking for a pair of reasonably priced gloves for my light biking routine. I found these and am quite happy with them. The quality far exceeds the price I paid.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Palm pain, August 1, 2009
By Ray
These gloves are cool and fit well. Palm padding is way too soft as is the padding of most gloves on the market. My old Cannondale gloves came with a very stiff palm insert which for years was disconcerting, because I expected the palm to break in and soften. I didn't know how good they were until I needed to replace them. These gloves will do the job of protecting your hands in a fall, but a glove with a thick leather palm is what I am always looking for. Gel or any other solution I've tried doesn't seem to cut it either.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Just okay., September 12, 2009
By Willy Bee (Birmingham, AL)
Nice gloves, but a bit inconvenient putting them on and off as the fabric is very stiff. The gloves turn inside out every time I try removing them from my hands.
My other gloves are softer and more comfortable.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Love em but really want the tan in a Men's Large, July 5, 2011
By broadsword
I have worn these gloves on many rides for several months. I have the tan version, and find that for summer/hot weather riding, the light tan color reflects the heat, instead of absorbing it. My hands feel cool and comfortable after hilly rides of 30 or more miles in hot and humid weather. The thin weave crochet fabric does not feel scratchy like some of the thicker yarns I have seen on gloves. It feels smooth against the skin and just makes my hands feel comfy. I do not find the padding to be too thin, in fact, feels just right for me. I bought the pair I have now at a local bike shop almost two years ago as a spare pair. After wearing out my other gloves, I pulled them out and started wearing them a few months back and thought, wow, these feel great, I should have started wearing them sooner. They are doing fine, but I am concerned since the palms are not leather, they will wear quickly. So I went back to the shop I bought them from to get another spare pair (or maybe even two), and found they no longer carry them. I then checked Avenir's web site, and it looks as if they are no longer making the tan. Drats. So, I am ordering a black pair now from Amazon, and I will wear them just because I like the feel, but not having tan in my size and discovering that they do not appear to be making them in that color anymore is disappointing. I hope somebody from Avenir happens to read this: the tan color looks cool, and also helps your hands stay cool! Bring them back! Giving a five star review on comfort alone, and hoping that the company begins to re-stock the light tan color.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great gloves for a kid, June 16, 2011
By R. DAILEY (GA)
My nephew wanted to learn how to ride his bike. So of course, after learning how to ride he decided he needed the same accessories as me to ride and these Avenir gloves are one of the few pair that I could find small enough to fit a 7 year old's hands. I got the Women's Small size gloves for him and they work great. He on took a couple good falls while I was watching, but I'm positive that the gloves kept him from taking the skin off of his palms when he fell. I would highly recommend anyone teaching a child to ride get some type of gloves for them.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Boooooo for these gloves!, October 26, 2010
By Liliana Dirks-Goodman (Los Angeles, CA United States)
I'm a bike commuter, 12 miles per day, 4-5 days a week. I've only had these gloves for 4 months and I've worn a hole in the palm of the glove. Definitely not a good glove if you are biking in them almost every day.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Value for price, September 22, 2010
By Yuko
My hands are a bit smaller than women's standard. I bought W Small and it just fits. Air-mesh back, sweat wipe on thumb, amara palm with compression form...perfect function! I also like its cool color-combination. One negative thing is, cloth fabric and stiching seem a little cheap. Anyway you can get worth the price!

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Sizing Issue, August 24, 2010
By OldCabMan (Mission Viejo, CA United States)
These gloves look great, but they are sized for women. That may be inferred from the sizing chart that comes up only for women's sizes. IT SHOULD BE STATED CLEARLY IN CAPS!!!

I have large hands for a man, these gloves didn't come close to fitting me even though they were XL.

My wife has a new pair of biking gloves, which she doesn't really need, and I'm screwed until I can afford to buy another pair.

Bad deal. Get clear on your sizing!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Very Comfortable, Great for Driving Job, too!, August 20, 2011
By Steady Shopper (Sunny So Cal)
Unfortunately, I purchased these gloves at another place and paid more. My bad! I love these gloves! Comfortable, good movement, durable. I drive for a living and these work perfectly for me. They prevent calluses and rough areas on my hands; hands stay "pretty". I highly recommend these gloves!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great bicycling gloves, January 20, 2012
By cjn
These are very nice, high quality, attractive gloves. By using the Amazon sizing chart we were able to order a perfect fit. They arrived in only two days, also. Thanks again Amazon, for a great shopping experience. Out of dozens of purchases I have had only one less than excellent experience.
