Good Average Gloves, July 11, 2008
By M. Peter Wesly (Hawaii)
|
|
Got these gloves to qualify for Amazon's free shipping to replace a pair of very well used Performance Classic Gloves. Pros: Gloves seem well made - cotton back, stitching, velcro wrist closure, and palm padding all seem good quality and up to the task. Cons: synthetic leather palm material is showing too much wear after only a few short rides, and overall the gloves fit somewhat too tightly compared to others - especially around the wrist and fingers, the latter aspect making them annoyingly difficult to take off when sweaty...

Great gloves for the price, September 16, 2008
By T. Chumbley (Woodstock, GA.)

Got these gloves out of necessity and have been pleasantly surprised. They seem to run a size smaller so order 1 size bigger. Other than that they wear good, provide good protection and seem to be holding up good. Just 1 or 2 wear spots in 2 months isn't bad for the price. Thats why I gave in 4 stars and not 5.

stiff and scratchy, May 22, 2009

Bought these gloves for my granddaughter. She found them uncomfortable, stiff and scratchy. I ended up having her use a pair of my old ones. These will go into a Goodwill bag.

Good Enough, August 31, 2011

I was wanting an inexpensive, quality crochet riding glove...and that's exactly what I got with these Avenir Classic Comfort's. Some of the stitching is not perfect, but looks like it will last a long time. I have been using the gloves for about four weeks in a variety of weather conditions. Wet or dry my hands stay comfortable and I have a good grip on the bars. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase of these gloves.

well worth the low price, December 11, 2010
By P.C. Thomas (Fort Myers, FL United States)

I use these gloves for target shooting. I'm a lefty so I just wear one on my left hand and it provides some recoil relief from my S&W 642 or my Model 60 when I shoot .357's through it. These gloves are well worth it for the price. Why buy an expensive pair of shooting gloves that probably don't provide any more recoil protection?

No More "Summertime Blues" for My Hands, February 16, 2011
By Old Hippie (St. Louis, MO.)

Having never been really big into cycling until the last three years - I figured it was about time to break down & buy some gloves for summer riding on the mountain bike. Today (Feb. 16, 2011) was a taste of summer in the mid-west topping out at 70 degrees. Why didn't I buy these sooner? The compression foam padding is just right thickness - at least for me. It's not so thick you lose all feel of the handlebar grips, but still just thick enough to protect. At first look, you'd swear there is no padding. It's there - just not a lot of it. In this case, maybe less is more.
Granted this isn't an in-depth review over a long period of time. But my first impression is two thumbs up - way up.

Meh... for the price, July 27, 2011
By Adam Russell
|
|
I think I paid like 9 bucks for these (free ship w/prime) so I can't complain a whole lot. The stitching is poor (part of a seam undone out of box) they look like sexy lady gloves... lol... and I dunno, just very poor quality.
I will wear them for a bit, order or buy some real gloves at brick and mortar and then toss these...

Gloves for Wheelchair Users, July 1, 2011
By Charlie Bean (Eureka, CA)
|
|
Strong and sturdy to protect the nabds while pushing your wheelchair. Much better than cheap bicycle goves and they do not cost an arm or leg lasting a long time. Though they are for bicycles, they work great for active users of a manual wheelchair.

not as good as my last pair..., October 22, 2010
By Bikerchic
|
|
I had a pair of Avenir gloves before and they had a great fit, almost precurved to fit the grip, leather palms with padding... They were great.
I paid more for this pair of "synthetic" and the padding is lacking, the fit is sloppy and they have been a disappointment. Guess these would go in a goodwill bag too except I don't want to pass on this disappointment to anyone else so they are trash bound. :o(

leather palmed bike gloves, September 21, 2010
By woodstock
|
|
The palms are real leather so they don't stink like synthetic gloves. That alone made them a winner for me. The crochet allows air flow and sweat to wick off. True to size. Very reasonable price. I bought these to replace a pair I bought more than several years ago. If they last half as long I will be very happy.

great gloves!, November 2, 2009
By :) (New York)

I bought these for a friend who due to an accident is in a wheelchair. He needed something with the fingers exposed, and something that was not so heavy as to make them uncomfortable to wear for long periods. He's been using them for almost a year now, and he still loves them, they are heavier duty than others he has gotten, and have not worn out yet. Great buy, great price.

I used these gloves for bicycling and working out. These gloves did not last 3 months. The material shreds and they split in the middle of the palm. I will buy leather gloves next time

really thin padding, August 19, 2011

Padding is almost non-existent. Inexpensive pair of gloves that I anticipate wearing only in rainy/wet weather. would not have bought had I known how thin the padding is.

good glove reasonable price, February 29, 2012

5 stars for this item. Well made and reasonably priced. Need to order one size bigger than fitting info and it fits me well. Fishnet back is made to order for warm climates. Cycling padding is adequate. I have a Bell Pro and this is just as good.

READ WHY 5 STARS, February 8, 2012
By Alex_Nguyen (Florida, USA)

Other than pedal cages, this is also one of my best buys. This glove has the look and feel of an expensive glove. The mesh back with leather palm and gel inserts are my favorite; so I was surprised when it came in the mail. First of all, I use very high quality wraps, gel with thick $$$ prices. Unless you fall and really test this glove; there is no need to have too much gel. Mesh gloves last a long time, washing, drying, etc... and this glove has a nose and brow wipe! I usually pay $15-$22 for a mesh glove but why when you can order a high quality one that will last and buy a few different colors! The feel is not as great when you get it; but you have to break it in. The large size I got was a tad smaller than normal and it fit perfect; not too loose or tight; but breaking it in will be perfect. So for the price of one, you can buy 2 or more.

Just what I wanted!, December 30, 2011
By northerngem

So, as we are classics ourselves, this kind of classic bicycle gloves with string webbing is what we've always used. They are becoming hard to find around where we live as expensive day-glo lycra gloves have taken over. Wha a joy it was to find these on Amazon! They are perfect: well made, good looking, the sizes were as expected.
