5.0 out of 5 stars.  spoke wrenches, March 25, 2009
By Ronald E. York
Never realized how easy it was to trim your bike wheels, should have bought these years ago. Just remember to think backwards: turn spokes counter-clockwise to tighten.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Much higher quality than expected for price!, December 2, 2010
By Mondoman (Seattle, WA)
I'm used to quality Park Tools, so I was a bit hesitant before buying this spoke wrench set. The other positive reviews convinced me to try out the set, and I'm glad I did! I've uploaded some photos to show that the wrench set I got was higher-quality than that pictured in the original listing photo.
Two features most impressed me:
1) the slot on each wrench is precise and is chamfered to make it easier to guide the spoke nipple into place.
2) inch and mm sizing info is printed on the handle of each wrench, and letter-sizing (A, B, C) is molded into the metal wrench base.
These are high quality wrenches for a great price!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fine!, January 29, 2010
By Paul Murphy (San Jose CA)
These work fine for a fraction of the price of Park spoke wrenches. Usually I think it is worth it to pay more for Park tools, but not in this case. I don't do a huge amount of truing, though, so take my advice with a grain of salt, please.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great for the do-it-yourselfer, September 17, 2010
By Alan Muia (Mount Vernon, WA United States)
These wrenches are great. They've saved me the trouble of going to the bike shop for fine adjustments to my wheels. Of course, you have to be careful not to overdo--a little turn goes a long way. The tools are fine though and well worth the low price!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  The right size, September 4, 2011
By Elmer
I didn't spend $1000 on a bicycle. I am not a bike snob. I got an early seventies Huffy at auction for $9.00. It's American made. When I decided to take the plunge and re-lace my wheels I needed a spoke wrench. Members of my favorite on-line bike group (RatRodBikes.com) were very helpful with suggestions, but spoke wrenches range from $0.99 to $40, and no one knew what size I needed. This set was ideal. The three are nearly as inexpensive as one "big brand" wrench, and the green is just what I needed. Decent quality, decent price. I don't hesitate to endorse these. Ideal tools for bike fans who would rather build it than buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice spoke wrenches, August 5, 2011
By James A. Donndelinger (Chicago area)
Well packaged and promptly shipped. Easy to use shape. No fumbling for the correct size because each wrench is color coded and has the size plainly marked on the handle in both English and Metric.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Product, August 1, 2011
By Mike
After buying a new rear rim from my local bike shop, I noticed my rear spokes becoming loose every few rides, having to make the choice of riding to the bike shop every other day and paying someone else to fix the problem or fixing it myself was a no brainer. After looking at several different products, I settled on this Avenir Pro Spoke Wrench Set (for the price you cant beat getting the three separately sized wrenches). They were delivered right on schedule and after having used the wrenches a few times now in my short time owning them they are perfect. The handles make them both easy and comfortable to use. They are small and easy to transport however because of the handles, they aren't so small that they are easily lost in a bag/backpack. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a good set of spoke wrenches.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Not precise, July 26, 2011
By An ordinary consumer (Rochester, MN United States)
I brought a nipple to the local bicycle shop and checked whether these wrenches would be good for what I was working on. They were not precise enough. Also, it seemed that two out of three wrenches had the same size of the opening, so I've chosen a Park's 3-in-1 alternative (solid metal, long grooves, and Made in USA): Park Tool SW-7 Triple Spoke Wrench for Nipple Sizes of 0.127 , 0.130, and 0.136- Inch.

By the way, there is also some convenience in using the Park's triple spoke wrench--while working on a cheap (department store) bicycles, one can discover that the nipples used are not of the same size, hence all three openings of the Park's triple spoke wrench will be utilized while working on the same wheel.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Work great.. better than the mart kind for sure.., July 4, 2011
By Jay Baker (Florida, USA)
I have used these several times so far and they work great!! I had one of those other kind of spoke wrenches that is round and has several different sizes on it. They are ok ... if your not on the side of the road when its 90 degrees out and sweat rolling into your eyes. I rounded off several nipples on my wheel because of that. Choosing the wrong size and rounding off the nipple... Now I just carry the right size wrench on the bike so there is no guess work.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice and low priced!, July 1, 2011
By Teil (Berkeley, CA USA)
This wrench set looks like one of the Park tools, but the price is much lower. The grab feels very comfortable. The size works for most human bikes. Now, truing the bike wheel is a fun thing to do. Just FYI, you may check online for videos on how to true a wheel by using the brake pad, not for radial though.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  loose fit, good for cheap wheels only, July 1, 2011
By dougie fresh (georgia)
i bought this set for green and red, which are typically appropriate for cheaper wheels. rounding off nipples with a poor fitting tool is a good way to shorten the lifespan of a wheel. I expected these to be low quality based on the price, and they are as good as I expected, no better and no worse.

whenever you true a wheel you're unfamiliar with, start with black, if it doesn't fit try green and then red. if you don't go in this order, you may be using the wrong size, increasing the chances of damaging the wheel and the tool.

dt and wheelsmith spoke nipples require black wrenches (the smallest common size). I recommend getting park or pedro's if you have a wheel you expect to retrue many times. Get the pedro's with a corner and side entry option if you have high tension wheels.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Average spoke wrenches, June 25, 2011
By J. Ingram
I've had these spoke wrenches for a couple years and used them irregularly. At first they worked fine when I used them here and there, but in the last few months I started using them more and found they slip and strip nipples. Two nipples on a wheel are now untruable, this is unforgivable. I could probably use some strong pliers to remove and replace the nipple, but a good spoke wrench wouldn't have stripped it in the first place. I just went through Parks catalog and they have a 4 wall spoke wrench that is a couple dollars more which has one more wall than these avenir. They also have an all-metal one which looked super-strong. Avenir made some decent spoke wrench here, I guess, but they aren't suited for heavy use and serious truing. If you want some spoke wrenches for serious work just spend the extra bucks and buy from Park tools.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Tools!, June 24, 2011
By Preston Buehrer
The spoke nipples on a set of Neuvation wheels I owned were starting to get a bit chewed up from tightening them with a cheap multi-tool spoke wrench. These however, have a very thick, 3 sided grip which work surprisingly well, even on the semi-stripped spokes. Definitely recommend these!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  These are awesome, April 14, 2011
By Russell J. Deible (Michigan)
I never imagined that replacing my multi sized spoke disk with a single wrench could make such a difference but it does. These wrenches fit much tighter and slip a lot less. The wrenches came right through faster than I expected and seem to be good quality. Most likely I will never need spoke wrenches again. The three sizes sent fit all my bikes in fact the red one fits all three

4.0 out of 5 stars.  good value, January 8, 2011
By JW (SE US)
I'm not a fan of the all in one spoke wrench. The individual sizes are much easier to use and these were the best value I found.

We have several bikes in my home and with these three I'm all set to work on every one of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great set!, August 29, 2010
By Erik Gregg
I used these (well, one of them) to tighten up my spokes on my Trek hybrid. It worked great! I needed the red one, but it's handy to carry all three in case you need to help someone else stranded with a broken spoke or bent rim!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Works great on my roadie and mtb, June 16, 2009
By Jimmy Tu
These spoke wrenches fit perfectly on my Trek roadie and my Daimondback mtb and they're a lot cheaper than anything else I've found. Great quailty that will probably last me for the rest of my biking days.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  avenir pro spoke wrench, June 12, 2009
By jimwest (Nashville, TN United States)
This tool is easy to use it and less cost than the brand name. But you have to understand how to do it. First the round and side.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  These are 3 sided, 2 corner grips, February 25, 2010
By Tom (Honolulu)
These looked like the type which grip on 3 corners. Don't be fooled, they only grip 3 sides and 2 corners. They still worke fine, just not like I expected.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  broken on arrival, November 7, 2011
By Whalex
The set was actually well packed, inside two boxes and with packing material in between. However, one of the wrenches was broken/defective: the wrench part was separated from the loop handle. They probably work well, and I purchased these after reading the many positive reviews, however the fact that one of the wrenches was broken on arrival made me doubt their durability, and so I returned them. I don't have an immediate need for one at the moment so I'm still shopping. I suppose it would be best to look for something in one piece (no pun intended) and not made of two parts joined at a stress point.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nothing wrong with them, easy to carry and use. Three sizes fits all, September 7, 2011
By goldensunliu
There really aren't much to say. For about Ten bucks give or take you get three spoke wrenches that fit three common spoke sizes. Universal kit for ten bucks no compliant. Used it many times.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Good for the price., March 17, 2012
By MchEngNrd
It was a good bargain to get 3 for this price; however, these aren't the best out there. It's pretty easy to round off a nipple, the 4-wall models are better for those with sensitive nipples.

Also the the white label with the size information rubbed off completely by the time I was done with my second wheel. At least I now know what size I need to buy a higher quality spoke wrench in.
