Reasonable price but not for every bike, June 1, 2009
By Kathleen San Martino (New Jersey)
|
|
This bike bag is reasonably priced and provides adequate storage for wallet, keys, and a few other items. The reason I am disappointed is because it does not fit my bike (my bike is a Trek Lime). There is a back strap that is supposed to go behind the handlebars but the strap is so loose and cannot be tightened much so it just sags and provides no support. Also, the straps did not securely fit the curvature of my bike handles that when I cinched it to the handlebars it drooped down almost to the front tire.
Therefore, I tried to use this bag by cinching it to the rail above the pedals. The fit was awkward and once I filled the pack with a cell phone and keys, it expanded and hit my legs when riding. I decided to give this to my boyfriend--he loves it because it fits his bike fine.
Although this is a decent pack for a good price, the manufacturer needs to improve on the back strap so that it can be adjustable by more than a few inches. Also, buyers need to be aware that they may not be able to cinch this pack to their handlebars because of where the velcro straps are in relationship to the curvature of the handlebar.

Better than expected, May 10, 2009

I was worried at first about getting a bag that I couldn't size or evaluate in person for several reasons. One is I have limited bar space for attachments due to the fenix flashlight and its attachment, the schwinn cyclocomputer, and the planet bike blinkie 5. I was also worried that the bag might ride up too high and obstruct my flashlights, or it would hang too low and cover the reflector. Lastly, I didn't want it too big or too small, which is everyone's concern with buying a handlebar bag. I can happily say this bag met all my expectations. It has 2 adjustable velcro straps on top that could be adjusted so the bag sits even or slightly higher than the bar, or slightly lower. It has a rear velcro strap to keep it from flapping around which can be attached around the stem or cables. It has quality 3M scotchlite reflector stripping on front even if it covers your reflector. The size is perfect for me, big enough to carry keys some snacks, cell phone, mp3 player plus speaker attachment, and more. it has a see through top that you can place a map or something in too. I'd say it measures 7 inches wide by 3 inches deep, just estimating. Shoulder strap is a nice touch. the bag can be quickly removed because the lower rear velcro strap has a quick D-link release clip. In all, this is a nice bag and I have attached photos so you can evaluate it. I feel this bag should get more attention, and I'm glad to have gotten it over the saddle/handlebar bag combos.

Great bag!, May 9, 2009
By Lisa A. Dinunzio (New Jersey)

Fits perfectly on handle bars.
I didn't want something bulky
and moving all around. This is
the perfect size for keys, cell
phone, lip balm, sun glasses,
gum, head band and tissues (all
of which I have in the bag I
purchased!) Plus there is room
for more stuff! GREAT bag, nice
looking too!

Not too big, not too small, just right!, July 1, 2009
By Danielle (United States)

I was sick of holding my gear in a backpack while biking and was looking for a small bag that holds everything I need to walk dogs. This bag holds a large keyring (10 or so keys) a roll of doggie bags, pen and business cards nicely. At first view I thought it would be too small but it is actually quite deep inside. It also is easy to remove and does not interfere with my cyclometer which is in the middle of my handlebars. With the velcro straps and elastic strap that goes around the head tube I really like the clear pouch and use it to put my cell phone in for easy viewing. The bag itself does not look bulky on my Women sized bike and is visually appealing. When I use the strap it just looks like a little messenger bag which is a bonus. Just what I needed and at a good price too.

nice little bag, September 8, 2009
By D. Ziegler (Boston, MA)

|
This is a great bag for the price. It is small, but big enough to hold my keys, chapstick, wallet, and few other odds and ends....enough to keep me from needing a backpack on daytrips. It fits snugly and doesn't seem to move around at all while biking. It also sits low enough that it does not interfere with or block my headlight.

nice bag but smaller than I expected, August 17, 2010
By MLM (Bay Area, CA)

It's a nice bag. I bought it for my son's bike. Because of its small size, it fits very well. It's like a 5"X7" photo size from the front and good for carrying wallet, cellphone and keys, etc. I was hoping it would fit a bottle of water but not quite; maybe one of those tiny 12oz bottle.

everything right just too small, October 20, 2009

I thought it can hold a bottle of water. totally wrong. It is just good to hold a lock (mini), a map and maybe your wallet. But too small to hold a normal size bottle of water.

Adaptable and convenient, May 8, 2009
By T. Capobianco

I really like this bag because it is on the small side and doesn't affect your steering ability, even when it is fully loaded. It has some nice features such a a clear plastic cover on the top so you can put a map, phone, etc inside it for easy viewing. It also has a zipper pocket inside the bag for the items you don't want to lose. It also has 2 velcro straps at the top which allow a lot of flexibility when trying to mount it around other devices on your handlebars, and one more strap at the bottom of the bag which allows you to secure it around the stem of your bars or around your bike frame. Good purchase for the money!

Casual Biker, November 2, 2008
By MRA (Minnesota)

This is a simple and easy to use bag. When I first opened it I thought that it would be to small to be useful. However, it holds more than an initial impression would indicate. It attaches and disattaches easily to and fom the handlebar. The zipper and flap close securely thus keeping valuables dry and well secure! I've not used the detachable shoulder strap, but it appears to be long enough to be functional. I use this in conjuntion with a small under the seat carrier and between the two I have adequate capacity without bulk.

Solves the problem of having a cell phone GPS in front of you, July 23, 2011
By Bearwife (Seattle, WA USA)
|
|
I like this bag for lots of reasons: it is just about exactly the size of a small purse, so will hold essentials like keys, small wallet, ID, and so forth. It goes on the handlebars and comes off them without any trouble -- velcro straps are quite secure. And best of all, the plastic see through cover, which seals securely with Velcro, is perfect sized to securely hold my Droid X2 (or any other cell phone) so you can see the GPS display, and allow operation of the smartphone through the plastic. A very nice item!

dinky, May 24, 2011
By NYer family (New York, NY United States)

I searched this site for some dimensions before I bought it and all it specifies is 91 cu. inches...which is a bit hard to visualize. What do people manage to put in this? It's about the size of a paperback book, so I guess you could do that, but forget about a wallet and a cellphone in addition. There's a tiny pocket on the side that seems like it might hold a leatherman tool or hex-key set, but nothing else. I had hopes for a wallet, keys, cellphone and an e-reader. Back to the backpack, I guess. This thing is very barebones.

Love it, April 18, 2011

I just wasn't comfortable using a seat bag but need something I can put my wallet, keys, garage door opener. After purchasing this handlebar bag, I can carry everything I need, PLUS sunglasses, tools , energy bar, cellphone, tools etc.
It has a main compartment for the basic stuff that's covered with a velcro flap but the things you want to have a bit more security, there's a separate pocket that can be zipped closed and that flap helps it from the rain. Also a small pocket on the side for whatever can fit. I put my phone in it so I can text while riding.
Just kidding.
The other cool feature is the small map case which I put passes inside at events. The extra strap to secure it around the frame prevents the bag from flapping around while on the move. Also comes with a shoulder strap which I don't use but if I'm in France and want to be trendy and look like I carry a man purse, this would do the trick!

very nice for the handlebar to keep the important items in. Is a little small, especially on the end since most cell phones are getting larger. plenty of ways to secure to bike and nice shoulder strap to use after removing. Overall I recommend for all cycling ventures....

Just right sized and good fit, September 1, 2009
By Paul Cassel (Southwest USA)
|

If you keep in mind that this is an occasional bag rather than a pannier / saddlebag, you'll be happy with its fit and capacity. I have no problems fitting my cable / lock, a cell phone and a flat kit including a tire removal device (from Crank Bros). I could fit more if I wished to. What this bag can't do is carry a true payload such as your groceries or a change of clothes for commuters.
The fitment is standard hook and loop with enough scope to accommodate pretty much any bicycle or probably motorcycle out there. What you need to do is to show some flexibility in mounting. My first thought was this bag would be in front of the stem / bars but there it interfered with my cables. This at first discouraged me but a bit of thought and I reversed the mounting to it is behind the bars and stem. There it's quite secure and very easy for me to access at traffic lights should I wish to get something from inside there. If it were leading the bars, I couldn't get at it nearly as easily. Also now that it opens to the rear, it's pretty much waterproof or at least less vulnerable to the rain.
OK. It does look a bit dorky but gee, not nearly as dorky as those underseat bags which have a fraction of the capacity and also aren't available while you're sitting on your bike.

The product is well made and well, inexpensive. That makes for a great value, which this is. I've purchased two more after the first one (for my wife and daughter). Zippers are sturdy, stitching seems durable. Can't go wrong with this one.

handy handler, February 6, 2009
By Don Goz

Was worried the bag may be a disappointment, but was happy when I saw it, and fitted it to my bike. Bag is large enough to contain the basic things I want to carry on a short ride. Attaches easily, and has a shoulder strap so you can take the bag with you when you park your bike. The bag however was competing for space with my front reflector and beam light, both mounted at a central point on the handle bar. I just forced the bag under them for now. That should have been considered in the design, and a drop made to allow other items hang or install comfortably over the bag.

Nice!, August 28, 2011
By A. Marchant-Shapiro (Connecticut)
|
|
This is a nice little handlebar bag--perfect for a cable lock and a couple of energy bars, maybe a cell phone. My only disappointment is that the pocket on the right-hand side is really too small for my cell phone, but that could be my phone (LG Quantum) and not the pocket. Other than that, it doesn exactly what it should. Small, cheap, effective.

Excellent Handlebar Storage - Plenty of Room, August 25, 2011
By AZ Overdrive (Arizona)
|
|
The "large" strap that comes with this bag is an arm strap for use as a man bag. Didn't use it since the bag comes with a small strap to go around the handlebar neck. There is TONS of room in this little bag. I have a leatherman, spare tube, first aid pouch (small) and room left over. Nice fit on the inside of my mountain bike handlebars... about 2 inches between my knees and the bag at full turn. Very nice.

As advertised, this bag is a mini. Easy to mount. Secure and stable. Does not interfere. I carry a coil lock, spare tube and a cell phone in it. If your looking for something to carry personal items and snacks for a long ride a larger size bag would be better.

Great little bag for bicycle commuting, July 11, 2011
By Michael R. Grayson
|
|
This little bag was purchased to hold pocket items- keys, wallet, cell phone- while commuting on my Raleigh Cadent FT0. It seems to be made of quality materials, is just the right size, and does everything I was expecting it to do (attach easily to the bike and hold my stuff without taking up any extra room) with an unexpected added bonus- when mounted facing the rider, the clear outer map pocket allows me to see my cell phone while I ride, allowing me to make full use of my GPS sports tracking program to see my current speed, elevation, etc. I had planned to purchase a separate cell phone mount, but now I don't need to! Great little product.

Perfect Small Size - Versatile Positioning, July 4, 2011
By Bobbilee (GA, USA)
|
|
I am very pleased with this small bag. It is the perfect size to fit on the inside of the handlebars facing the rider for easy access. {See my pictures.} Some reviewers have complained about the bottom strap being too large to snugly attach the bag to the frame. To me, this allows versatility of positioning as shown by other user contributed pictures. To solve the "fit" problem for my bike, I just wrapped the strap twice around the frame. The strap is still somewhat loose but keeps the bag secure to the bike and it does not move. I also love the fact that it removes quickly so that I can take the bag with me when leaving the bike in an unsecure area (the bike is locked down). I also remove my headlight and other easily removed items and place them in the bag for safekeeping. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and the price is right too!

Versatile placement, June 13, 2011
By Consumer in Kentucky
|
|
Arrived as expected via Amazon Prime. This bag is a great size: handled a tire patch kit, bike tool, cell phone, keys, small wallet. I have a light and a water bottle holder attached to my handle bars, so adding the bag there isn't really an option. It did, however, attach to the frame of my seat via the adjustable velcro straps -- and thank you for the velcro rather than buckles or other cumbersome fasteners, velcro is so easy to use. I was able to secure it even more by wrapping the adjustable back strap around the back rack I installed. Nothing moved and all was secure. Very useful bag - and the included shoulder strap makes this bag convert to a purse when you get to your destination, so you don't have to leave your gear unsecured with the bike.

I needed a small bag for my hybrid commute bike that would hold a pair of gloves, a pair of sunglasses, a skull cap, a fruit and a multi-tool. And that would attach to the handlebars facing me while I am riding so that I can easily access stuff inside it. This is the perfect bag for my bike and application. It also looks good.

Nice bag!, December 3, 2010
By Wayne (MD USA)
|
|
This bag is small enough to fit on the rear side of your handlebars yet large enough to carry a lunch. There is also a map pocket on the flap. Some reviewers mentioned the bag did not fit their bikes but we suspect they mounted it on the front side of the handlebars where it would interfere with the brake and derailer cables on some bikes. If you put it on the rear side you'll be happy with this bag. I'd give it 5 stars if the Velcro straps had buckles but the Velcro does give you the option to pull this off your bike in like 5 seconds which is useful. I'd just have preferred a choice.

Great handlebar bag, September 20, 2010
By Jeanine L. Gritten (California)

I had bought my husband and I these bags a year ago and absolutely love them. They are the perfect size and hold quite a bit. They are very sturdy and don't flop around when you are riding even on rough road. Our friends who are avid bicycle riders were really impressed with them so I ordered them one for each of their bikes. They are really neat for shorter rides instead of taking a back pack. Also the clear plastic flap for maps is wonderful.

My serious bike friends made fun of me originally with the little purse but..... it is the best!
No need to stop for the lipbalm, the phone, the energy bar. Easy on and off so you can carry it with you if you stop along the ride. Nice to get the weight of my back - literally, the bike shirt is way more comfortable without at the stuff in the pockets!

Just the right size, September 27, 2011
By J. Mueller (St. Louis, MO)

This bag is the perfect size for my women's hybrid bike. I use it on the inside of the handlebars so it faces me for quick access to my stuff. I carry a BlackBerry, keys, wallet, and a tire repair kit with a bit of room to spare. The bag has stayed in place through several bike rides so far and it's compact enough to never be in my way. The shoulder strap is a nice touch, too!

Great little handlebar bag, September 18, 2011
By Emily WK
|
|
I agree with some of the other reviews that I've read that the strap on this doesn't make a ton of sense. The velcro straps that go around the handlebars fit perfectly on my bike, and I tucked the shoulder strap into the bag itself, but on the back at the bottom there's an elastic strap that looks like it should go around your headset to keep the bag from bouncing maybe? But the strap is very loose even when tightened as tight as it could go. I have a touring bike and I can't imagine what style of bicycle would find this strap useful. Or maybe it's for looping through your belt loops if you don't want to carry the shoulder strap?
I don't know.
I like this bag. It's big enough to hold my wallet, phone, keys, a spare tube and some tools, and maybe a light or two if I needed it. And it's simple enough that I can wear it around when I'm off my bike without feeling like I look like an idiot. For the price it can NOT be beat.

Works for me., May 7, 2012
By Robert Hasegawa (Duvall, WA)

This is a pretty nice bag. It attaches easily, and I like the assortment of pockets. I also like the special clip for my keys. You can detach it from your bike and attach the strap and carry it around with you. My only complaint is that pocket on the side, which I assume is meant to hold a phone, seems to only fit the older style flip phones. My BlackBerry, or an iPhone, would not be a good fit. However, you can just put that in the zippered compartment inside.

Excellent value, just what I expected and a little more..., May 4, 2012
By Tally (Stuart, FL)

After reading other reviews, I thought that this would be a nice compliment to my road bike for work commuting. I remember thinking, "I wish this thing could hold my Kindle Fire." Well, it does! It works as a purse, can hold a Kindle, keys, cell phone, gum, and more. I think it's quite roomy, considering. I agree with other reviewers that the cell phone pocket doesn't hold larger phones (I have an HTC Evo). However, the see-thru pocket on the front is great for holding your phone / using navigation at the same time (another tip from reviews I read). Nice looking, a good value for the $$. Not spending my $$ on up-charged stuff at the bike shop allowed me to get a better bike! Get this - you won't be disappointed.

Needed a bag that would hold my iPhone w/speakers, keys, and other essentials. It does all of that with room to spare. You are not going to go grocery shopping with this but that's not the intent. I have it mounted facing towards me and it fits securely. I did wrap the bottom strap around the head tube twice as recommended by another reviewer. This bag is well designed and constructed. I recommend it for people who want a small, slim bag that they can carry the things they would usually put in their pockets while they ride.
