Not just for bovines . . . . ., June 7, 2009

I have been using Bag Balm for the past 4 or 5 years and you can't beat this product for keeping YOUR skin soft. I had very dry hands and feet and a friend told me about this product. It is absolutely amazing! Before you go to bed, put a small amount of Bag Balm on the palm of your hands and rub into your feet until all the balm is gone. Pay special attention to very rough and dry areas. Then put on a pair of socks. Do the same to your hands and put on an old pair of socks to keep the balm on your hands. Do this for a couple of weeks and you will not believe the difference in your hands and feet. When you get up in the morning, rub a little on your elbows and any rough area of your skin. Bag Balm does not stain your clothes, does not have an odor. Use this product especially if you have dry cracked heels of your feet. Be sure to use a foot file to keep down the callous and use Bag Balm to keep your feet looking good in sandals. Whenever I have been working in the yard for a few hour and my hands get dirty and rough from pulling weeds, etc., I put this on after I was my hands and soon my hands are nice and soft again. I tell everyone about this product because it is so good!!

Excellent for psoriasis, May 6, 2009
By MTmomma (Houston, TX)

My husband suffers greatly from psoriasis on his feet, cracking, itching, bleeding. This is the only product we have found that allows him some relief and allows him to continue working at a job that demands he be on his feet most of the time. Great product.

This is not a 2-pack!, April 5, 2011

The stuff is great, but this should not be marketed as a 2-pack. Its only one 10 oz tub and it can be bought elsewhere for much cheaper

Bag Balm, February 10, 2009
By Lia Smurf (Austin, TX)

I recently purchased this. I will have to write an update as far as the extensive qualities others have written about. I don't care for the smell, quite medicinal. Pretty can.
Update!! I read another reviewer's comments dated March 2009 about this containing 8-Hydroxyquinoline and it being considered a pesticide. Check out the reviews for the other size. Draw your own conclusions, I am not using mine until I find out more info.

The touring bicyclist's emergency room, September 1, 2011

Bag Balm just works it fixes all those rubs and irritations that can happen in bike shorts and keeps you riding comfortably Use a little every day as a preventative or just use when a problem occurs.
Bag Balm is greasy and will darken your leather seat but it is so worth it. I never tour without it. I gave small extra cans to other riders on this year's ride from San Diego to St. Augustine, FL it saved the ride for several of them. I just restocked at the next town with a Tru-Value Hardware store.
My wife, a non ride uses it for rubs also and loves it. It was a hard sell to get her to try it because it has a strong smell and is greasy, but once she did she is also hooked.

Bag-Balm, Vermonts Original Moisturizing & Softening Ointment - 10 Oz/ Pack, 2
This product has been around for years. It's been used for pretty much everything from cow udders to lubricating squeaky bedsprings. It's medicated, lubricated, and it lasts forever. Scratches, scrapes, dry cuticles, rough heels, diaper rash be-gone with Bag Balm. I've used it to lubricate the slide on my aviary door, to soften my dog's heel pads, as an under eye and lip balm, and I wouldn't be without it. Grandma did indeed know best when she said, 'Bag Balm. It's the way to go.'

Bye Bye diaper rash...., June 3, 2010
By sombke (Belvidere, IL United States)

We've been through four kids with the first one using cloth diapers. None of them ever had issues with diaper rash. It was the white "made for babies" ointment that was hard on their skin. Don't be afraid of it because it's "not for humans". It really works for diaper rash, cuts and general dry cracked skin. Really, there's nothing better.

Good for my dog's dry nose, January 17, 2011
By Adam

My dog's nose sometimes dries out, and her breeder recommended applying Bag Balm to help. It seems to help pretty good.
edit: The problem is though, the bitch often licks it all off before it can do any good.

AMAZING!!!!, January 10, 2010

I love this product. It is the only thing that has worked on my extremely dry skin. It has a slightly distracting odor, but I put it on before bed and I don't even notice. My face is a uniform color and so smooth when I wake up. I can't praise Bag Balm enough.

New use - opposite of bag but still balm!, January 14, 2012
By PK - A Fan! (Santa Paula, California United States)

Bag-balm is not just for utters anymore: long in use for the hands (thanks to those farmers who applied the product to milking heifers and then noticed their own skin was considerably softened) Bag-Balm has been heading north and south ever since. From hands to softening feet and elbows, Bag-Balm has headed further north and is now a secret beauty treatment for the chest, neck and face. The texture of the product is dramatically opposite of what I was used to and the slightly medicated scent - although not annoying - dissipates rapidly, but it does take a little getting used to.
You'll be glad you did - try it, the price... is reasonable, the servings generous an the results utterly (or should we say udderly?) amazing.

I am an eighty year old woman. I use bag balm on my feet once a week. My feet have always been so rough that I was embarrassed as a child and went through many nylons in my adulthood. Now my grandaughter was polishing my toenails and said "your feet are so soft" wish I knew about Bag Balm earlier. It does stain so put socks on after appling.

THIS STUFF IS FANTASTIC, November 7, 2011
By Ben (Brooklyn, NY)

I use this on dogs all the time for anything from a rash to cuts to preventing salt burns in the winter. It is a moisturizer and an antiseptic. I also use this on myself as a moisturizer. It works better than any cream I've ever bought and has helped my dogs so many times I can't even count. This is a fantastic product with multiple uses. I can't believe that more people don't know about it. Would highly recommend! Can't do without it in my house.

This product was recommended to me by my Doctor for soreness around the rectum area due to inflamation or hemmaroidal swelling. It works like a charm! It is also great for babies to use instead of vaseline on their posteriors.

Good for feet and hands, softens rough skin., January 22, 2012
By Wanda K

I initially bought this product because I was itching everywhere and thought I had dry winter skin. I eventually took some antihistamines such as benadryl, pepcid for that. I have been using this product on my feet and hands and notice how soft and smooth they seem. I file my feet first and then wear socks before bed. Its staining and greasy. It has a mild smell that goes away after some time, not unpleasant but medicinal. Reminds me of camphor or eucalyptus. I have been using it on some dry patches of skin, and after a week or two of use, I notice how much softer my skin is. I had some scratches where I had overdone my sugar body scrub. I wear old pajamas after applying this all over my body. I wonder if the secret is in the lanolin. I was thinking maybe I could buy refined lanolin such as breastfeeding mothers use. Lansinoh, I believe, but it is more expensive than this Bag Balm. Oh, by the way, I used an udder ointment called Dr Hess and that did not work as well. I give this product top marks. I found mine in my local Walgreens for about the same price.
