4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good lock for the money, September 28, 2010
By S. Revis
Well designed lock and holder, whoever was complaining about their lock falling out probably assembled the holder incorrectly; the quick release is very solid if its bolt is properly tightened. My only complaint is that the rubber rings near the end of the U-piece whose purpose appears to be keeping water and dirt out of the lock when it is closed are already cracking and disintegrating after a week. While this probably won't affect anything in the short run, it does show that this lock probably won't last forever. 4 stars for coming up a little short on materials quality.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Pretty junk, July 5, 2009
By Rider
This lock has a lousy holder (bounces out on Pave). Rough mechanism. Poor finish. It works, but I don't expect it to last 15 years like my last lock.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  NOT RECOMMENDED! Hard Plastic Base????, January 25, 2011
By J.Smith (USA)
Just purchased this on Amazon & have to send it back. I live in a not-so-great-neighborhood & I could easily see the lock betraying me w/no problems. The base piece seems to be made of Hard Plastic. That's what the outside of it consists of & I don't see how it can keep a bicycle thief from helping himself. I looked into the insides of this lock & I truly believe that if you hit the base hard enough, it would come loose & slide right off. In my neighborhood, if you don't at least use a U-Lock, you can kiss your bike goodbye because a cable will get cut in NO TIME FLAT. Lost a bike at the library that way.. Don't you hate it when your stuff gets taken? I can't trust this lock & You shouldn't either

4.0 out of 5 stars.  good u lock!, September 12, 2011
By Matthew Rota (New Orleans)
I got this for my Giant Boulder. I have changed out the shock to a rigid fork. For an urban setting this lock works very well, because of the extra length. The lock is a little finicky, and sometimes makes me a little nervous that I might break off the key. If it was a little wider so it could go around some thicker poles and still lock my tire and frame, and if the lock worked a bit more smoothly, it would have gotten five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  11 - 1/4 inch U-Lock, August 27, 2010
By louis deluca
The lock was large enough to lock the frame and a quick release front tire to a bike rack.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Lock, but rubber peels off., May 21, 2010
By DP (Santa Barbara, CA)
In general I am very pleased with my purchase of this lock. The extended length makes it easy to secure bike to a wider range of items, although this does make the lock heavier to carry if you don't plan to attach it to your frame. The locking mechanism feels much more secure than less expensive u-locks I have used in the past.

My major complaint with the lock is the rubber covering used to protect the U part of the lock is not very tough. It is rather thick and provides protection against minor abrasion and the elements, but I've dropped the lock a few times while riding causing the rubber to begin to tear and eventually peel off in areas. This doesn't affect the performance of the lock, but it doesn't look great and it starting to show some rust on the exposed metal.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great lock, October 2, 2011
By bikkkker
This lock has been wonderful for me. It's length makes it very easy to get through my tire and frame as well as the bike rack. The lock did get stuck on me once because my key didn't catch one of the cylinders in the lock, but once I figured it out there have been no problems. It's a sturdy, reliable lock that I would recommend to anyone

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great lock, but the mount is so-so., January 4, 2012
By Josh
I have been using this lock for about 4 months or so and it still works great. As for the bike mount... well the mount is very versatile, but if you are planning on going off any curbs the lock is bound to bouce out of it's harness. Also, I think the nut that holds the two pieces together on the mount was lost along the way somewhere(there is a bike mount part and another part the lock fits into). I am pretty certain I tightened it as much as I could without having the fear of breaking it but the road vibrations must have wiggled it loose.
