Great product, August 25, 2009
By Outdoorpartner (Layton, UT United States)

I installed aero bars on my bicycle more to hold this bottle than to actually ride in the aerodynamic position. It is great to be able to conveniently sip hydration instead of bending down to unhook your bottle and return the bottle to a cage system.
I attached a Camelback bite valve to the end of the straw. This keeps the liquid level up in the straw. I also view it as a safety modification. That plastic straw is placed to pierce my throat in a wreck. That added rubber stopper at the end gives me more confidence I won't end up with a bleeding neck or a punctured wind pipe.
Highly recommended.

Everything is great about it except the flexible tubing..., August 26, 2010
By Jack of all Trades (Virginia Beach, VA)

I actually have 2 of these now. I do triathlons and getting out of the aero position to drink really slows me down since I have to reach down take a swig and put the water bottle back in the cage (either below or behind me). Now, all I have to do is tip the straw in my mouth and drink up. When the reservoir goes empty, I pull a water bottle out of one of the cages and use the quick fill top (the cut up neoprene cap). I find that by shoving the bottle's nozzle in their and squeezing the bottle about 4 times empties it completely into the reservoir. Great system.
The only real problem with the kit is that the soft clear flexible tubing really smells bad. It also makes whatever you are drinking taste like the tubing. Absolutely horrible. They need to change whatever material they use to make it into something completely different. I usually throw away the clear tubing and cut a piece of clear tubing from my old CamelBak system that had too much tubing. That clear tubing is smell and taste free (even when new). I found a link to the "extender" which should work as well. Camelbak Tube Extender
Also, just to make things clear, you have to buy the Profile Design Aero Drink Bracket to make this system work with whatever aerobar system you use since the width between the bars may vary.
Another issue is that the drink bottle takes up a large portion of space up front. If you have your cyclocomputer (speedo, GPS, etc) mounted in between the aerobars you will need to relocate it elsewhere.
Somehow, this item listed as a "toy" so ignore my star rating with regards to that.

Who needs a stinking manual, April 2, 2010
By Anonymous (Los Angeles, California)

Bottle is ideal when one does not have time to reach down and grab a bottle say in the middle of a race. Profile's design is sleek and mounts to your aero bars in a very sturdy manner. Only complaint is why does Profile bother with manuals, the one's that come with this are utterly useless and to be quite frank don't really explain clearly how and what this yellow mesh sponge is for why there's a second clear straw? Figured it out eventually but just a minor thing that should be made aware.

It works well, June 23, 2009

This bracket works well for holding the aerodrink in place. I use it in combination with the large rubber bands that come with the bottle to really keep the movement of the bottle to a minimum. I was finding that the bottle would flop around a bit as I drank through the liquid which is annoying (and probably not the best from an aerodynamic standpoint I'd guess too).
If you are into long-distance tri's, or a road biker that's not afraid of being called a Fred, get the bracket and bottle.

It works, September 29, 2008

It holds the AeroDrink bottle just fine, but why don't they offer these 2 things together in 1 package since the bottle is worthless without the bracket?

Decent Water Bottle, November 18, 2010
By Miss

This is the 2nd profile design aero drink bottle I have bought- I have not been able to find a better one than this (did a lot of research). My first one fell off the bike and cracked. Definitely be careful that the bottle is securely fastened between your aerobars. Other than that, it is a very convenient way to drink and maintain your aero position. My only other complaints are that the lid seal decreases over time and there is some splashing that occurs. But then again I haven't used the yellow spongy splash guard, as it decreases the amount of water I can carry.

Finally has a LID!, May 30, 2010

I use the profile aero bottles because my bike only has one bottle cage. My previous Profile bottle did not have a lid so I ordered this one to prevent spillage while going over bumps, leaning my bike too far, etc.
it works exactly the same as the previous models...and it holds your precious liquids INside the bottle instead of splashed all over you and your bike.
i gave it 4 stars because you still have to use the mesh insert...or else the liquid will still bounce right our the small slits in the lid!

Some design flaws, but overall a must-have if you ride in aero, January 14, 2012
By My average review score is 3.74.. (San Francisco, CA)
|
|
I rate items based on three criteria - Does it work as advertised? Does the value justify the cost? Does it improve my life? I put my recommendation at the top, then answer those three questions below.
RECOMMENDATION
You MUST have an aerodrink if you ride with aerobars, and this one is a pretty good one. It's deceptively large, and very easy to use. I love being able to stay compact and fast on the bike without worrying about reaching down to grab water bottles. For racing, I'd say this piece of gear is downright necessary.
FUNCTIONALITY
Despite all that, it has some annoying design flaws. The brackets slip pretty easily, so I find myself adjusting it before every ride. They've worn some of the paint of my aerobars, not that I really care much about that. They can pop out of place sometimes, such that the bottle will settle in at an angle to the right or left, making you work a little harder to get at the straw. Finally, it's mildly annoying to get the thing in and out of the bracket. These are all minor annoyances and I'm still really glad I own this thing.
VALUE
It's so cheap - if you're already invested in the aerobars, there is no way to justify not owning this thing.
DOES IT IMPROVE MY LIFE?
Aside from the practical advantages the aerodrink offers for racers, it also just looks really cool, while providing an extra place to store water.

Triathelete, May 16, 2011

The instructions on this are horrible. It is obviously translated from several languages, and the pictures are just as bad. I did find a video on Youtube that was of some help. One it is on, it works well.

It mounts your water bottle, October 29, 2010
By B. Leisle
|
|
Nothing special about this bracket other than to say it successfully holds your Profile Design Aerodrink. It holds both the original Aerodrink and the slimmer Aqualite. The instructions are basically worthless, be prepared to do some headscratching, particularly with the big rubber bands. (I actually didn't even use them) Installation will vary depending upon your brand/style of aerobars. On my pre-2010 Easton Attack bars, I had to mount it underneath the aerobars and it fits well.
That said, it does it's job - it holds the bottle well.

Works okay, September 2, 2010

This works well. Just becareful not to fill it up too much. You will hit a bump and have water or sports drink all over the front of the bike and mybe even you. That is will the yellow mesh in place. Other than that it works well. Easy to fill on the go. Just open the new bottle and dump it in.

A good aero water bottle, May 2, 2010
By DAVID OKEEFE (Sao Paulo, Brazil)
|
|
The Aerodrink looks cool and delivers on its promise to let you drink without sitting up from the aero position. It is much better mounted with the bracket and velcro strap than with rubber-bands and adhesive velcro pads. The missing instructions are:
It would be a 5-star product if the lid and straw were designed so as not to spill when the bike is not upright, and the velcro strap on the bracket were long enough to release the bottle without being unthreaded from the bracket eyelet.
Good luck in your triathlons!

It works well, used my aerobars for a year with the aerodrink bottle and it rattled like crazy. This holds it secure just like it is supposed to.

I am constantly looking for the best price. With online options, one has to take shipping into consideration. This purchase was a great find with reasonable shipping and the best value overall.

Just what the doctor ordered, April 26, 2012
By S. Love (Frisco, TX)
|
|
Installation was super easy - although I did watch an installation video on youtube (just search the product and you can find it). It fit my new bike as well as my 10 year old areo cup so I'm very happy. The only issue I not have is where to put all the other stuff I'm trying to get on the bike...

awsome item, September 9, 2011
By emile

I am clumsy!, with the water bottle right in front of me, I am able to drink while maintaining aero position and I can take smaller sips since it doesn't require any effort to drink very useful for any rides more then 10 miles
to set it up, it a requires a bit of ingenuity but it's not to bad (universal product i guess)
