A "go anywhere, do anything" short, the Pearl Izumi Women's Elite Versa Cycling Short looks equally stylish on or off the bike. Equipped with multiple pockets, a hidden adjustable waist, and technical fabrics, the ELITE Versa short features a detachable liner with a 3-D Versa chamois for superior comfort on the bike. The 3-D Versa chamois contains active carbon yarn technology for enhanced thermal regulation and three layers of multi-density padding to dampen road and trail vibration. The short's stretch shell fabric is a single laminated for warmth, wind, and water protection. A brushed interior is included for next-to-skin comfort. Machine washable, this short's other features include a one-zip security pocket, a snap front closure with a zip fly, and internal hook and loop waist adjustments. About Pearl Izumi
More than 50 years ago in Tokyo, a father produced Japan's first bicycle racing apparel for his son, a promising racer. He named his soon-to-be-established company Pearl Izumi, derived from the gem "pearl" and an area of Japan known for its clear water ("Izumi"). Literally translated, the name means "fountain of pearls." Distributed in the U.S. since 1981, Pearl Izumi USA sponsored the U.S. national team in 1984 and several major trade teams during the mid-'80s, helping the company earn an almost cult-like following among cyclists. I bought these six months ago, they're perfect and fit well. Great for cycling. I wear them to the gym as well, good for spinning. Unsnap the lining and you have a cool pair of shorts. Kudos to IZUMI. They make nice shirts also.

 Cute bike shorts, run small, February 3, 2012

Just received these in Coffee, but despite being a baggy-style short, they seem to run small so I'm sending them back. Normally if a pair of pants or shorts comes in XS-S-M-L sizes, I can reliably order the S, but not these. Unfortunately there are no more size M in stock. Too bad, I love the embroidered logo and the coffee color was a refreshing change from boring black! They seem to be good quality and lightweight. The liner is easy to remove.

These shorts served their purpose very nicely as they are dressy enough to wear to casual restaurants, shopping etc. The padding in these shorts are not as good as in another pair of bike shorts I have but sufficient.
