The main ingredient seems to be (this is my educated impression) the old fashioned calcium carbonate "precipitate," a form of the mineral obtained by bubbling carbon dioxide through a solution of calcium hydroxide. The precipitate is free of sharp abrasive crystals.
The terpenes that impart the lemon flavor can be a digestive aid when the toothpaste is used before bedtime after a heavy meal!
