I haven't bought these socks, but have heard a lot of good things. Sizing info is as follows: Small = Womens 4-6.5; Medium = Mens 6-8.5, Womens 7-9.5, Large = Mens 9-11.5, Womens 10-12.5; X-Large = 12-15. Hope this helps - happy running!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good, December 20, 2009
By alefone (Omaha Ne)
I like these but there are other better ones out there. By better I mean more compression. I like the Zoots but they do cost more. I use them for recovery not during the run. Also these are great for long car rides--especially after a race.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  moderate support, comfort...eh...., February 24, 2011
By S. Hill
I had originally planned on using these as support for chronic injuries associated with distance jogging, minor shinsplints and calf strains. the idea being to use either during the run or immediately after to improve veinous return or provide support to the structure of the lower leg.

I will admit that I am rough with my sportswear. That being said, these are pretty durable fabric, more so than I would have expected from the feel. They are definately smooth, somewhere between trouser socks and nylons. but they do not offer the same consistent compression over time. out of the box they have good support from arch through the tibia, but over time in a single wear, they seem to peter out. The fabric seems to soften and stretch, not unlike a pair of nylons. by the 3rd wear, they would have no more support than a small set of sox, and no more specific.

I still use them here and there when I am going to be standing on my feet, but I had purchased them for support during or at least immediately after a run. though even for this they are limited, in that the upper band will roll and feel tight and pinch just under the knee. My theory on this is because they have lost a lot of elasticity in short time and now are longer than they were and will roll and scrunch at areas of flexion. to be fair, however, I have been washing them by hand with only delicate soap and laying flat to dry, as suggested.

Good product for a single use item, though this price tag would suggest that they would be mulitple use. I am going to try tossing mine in the dryer and see if it puts them back into shape.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  great for people with lower leg problems during sports, December 4, 2010
By KBC
I've just started my marathon training and my achilles tendon gets very tight. After looking around, runner's world had recommended compression socks for recovery. I placed an order for a pair and as suggested, wore them for recovery. My lower leg feels great, the pain has subsided, but hey these are running socks right? so why just wear them for recovery when it can do more than just that? So I wore them today for my 8 mile run. They felt a little weird at first, but once you get going, you don't even notice them. What I did notice was I didn't have any ankle or foot pain. I've also had shin splints in the past, but I didn't have any today either (hope I don't jinx myself), I've also been doing more stretching around the lower leg area so that might have been a contributing factor. It's an overall good compression sock. I've never tried any of the other ones out there since these are my first pair. They work for me so far and I'll stay with them, even tho they do look a little weird.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great for this runner!, January 27, 2012
By J-Kat
I have sprained my right ankle a handful of times, and sometimes it gives me grief after or during running. In turn, my right hip begins to give me grief. I had never tried compression socks before I bought these. After reading an article on them in Runners magazine, I decided to try some. What a difference! With the support they provide I can run a longer distance without my ankle acting up. Love these.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Decent product, January 17, 2011
By Layla79
I bought these because I have begun walking/jogging again but have been getting shin splints and some problems with fatigue in my lower legs. Doctor recommended trying compression socks to help aleviate the problems and I have to say it does help a lot. Wore these during a 5 mile walk/jog and had no problems with my shins or feet at all. Wore them for a few hours after the exercise and it helped even more. Good product and I would recommend these for anyone who has problems with their lower legs during exercise. Also, the fit was good. I wear a size 9 womens and the medium fit perfectly as the website recommends (go to the cw-x.com website for sizing guides).

5.0 out of 5 stars.  great socks, great price, November 3, 2010
By Moshmomma (Baldwinsville, NY United States)
I purchased these socks due to legs being tired and problems with ankles when running sometimes. They are not the most stylish socks in the world, but if you are wearing any type of these socks, they are not going to be.

The keep leg warm, but not sweaty and compressed. I have not warn them for a 1/2 marathon yet, but like them for the short runs as well.

Don't spend the extra $,these are worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Terrific Single Layer Ski sock, February 10, 2010
By Mature recreation (MALIBU, CA, US)
Prior to trying the CW-X compression sock, I was using a regular, thick ski sock with a silk under sock. My Ski Boots are quite snug and a thicker sock can sometimes be a problem with circulation, due to a thick sock bunching up. I tried the CW-X as a single level alternative and found them to be warm enough, offer good support and my feet were comfortable.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  CW-X Compression, December 19, 2010
By Mary L. (Sarasota, FL)
These must run a little tight, because I have small legs and they were snug. Think women's and men's choices might have been better, but still like them.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Its OK, November 26, 2011
By Ed C (NJ United States)
I feel like these socks work. Not sure if they do or just keep my calves warm.
They collect a lot of hair and lint balls.

Other reviewers say it rips easily. I've easily have warn it 15-20 times and never had an issue until today. I am careful with it b/c of the reviewers and it does take a bit to pull the socks over your heels. I guess I just wasn't careful enough.

Was good while it lasted but for the money it should have lasted longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Just squeeze me, October 4, 2011
By late-to-jazz musician (Madison, AL, US)
With my chronic high blood pressure and working in a manufacturing facility with concrete floors, I've been a long time advocate and user of support hose. (Check out my review of Truform 15-20, mmHg of Compression Dress-Style Support Socks, Mens Large, Black (Pack of 2).) When I took up running and started having trouble with runner's knee, I was thinking that support hose would help me out there, too, but I couldn't exactly wear knee-high black dress socks with jogging shorts to take my morning runs. (I prefer to stay off YouTube.) These socks filled a niche, therefore, so I decided to give them a try. Right out of the box, I could tell these were going to be tight. The fibers seem to be woven to flex and pull in different directions, and with the overall tightness,it was even a bit of a chore to get them on. The length was just right the first time I put them on, but the second time, they started to creep over the knee, messing with my knee brace and causing a little discomfort at the back of the knee. I don't really have an issue with this, though, as they tightened up a little when washed and settled into a good, correct, not-over-the-knee length. They provide excellent support during runs, both with and without running tights, and when I wore them to work, I did not have my usual swollen calves at the end of the day. These are a little pricey compared to regular dress support hose, though, so during cold weather, I might just buy cheaper, plain compression socks to get the same results at about half the price. But since I don't want to look too dorky, I'll keep these handy for fair weather run support. All in all, this is a very good compression sock for sports or otherwise, and any product that performs as expected, including this one, rates 5 stars in my book.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Works great but at a high price, June 16, 2011
By Loves cool stuff (Grayslake, IL, USA)
I don't wear these during my runs as I run barefoot or in VFF's, but I use them post-run for recovery. They do seem to speed up recovery from long runs with is exactly what I wanted - What stops me giving 5 stars is the price. I'd like to have a few pairs to wash/rotate usage, but at these prices I really couldn't justify that kind of outlay on socks.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Happy customer, June 2, 2011
By Keith D. Warburton
The product does what it claims to do, it adds compression. I wore these after a half marathon and it made a big difference relieving post race discomfort in my calves and heels. I am not sure if the speed up recovery, because I don't have another recovery period without the socks to compare to. The socks were a good deal compared to other brands so I would recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good socks., April 21, 2011

Socks worked fine. They were comfortable, but they were the least appealing color of the bunch. I only wear them under long pants.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Just right!, March 21, 2011
By johnajda
I purchased these socks for myself last week for cross country and track running recovery purposes. However, my significant other (girlfriend) saw me wearing them after a run and was piqued to try them on, as she has had chronic off-and-on pain from varicose veins for several years; she had tried another type of compression stocks several years ago, but she told me they did not alleviate the discomfort.
Well, these socks appear to be the answer(because of just the right amount of pressure?); they do not cause her any discomfort problems (and do not trigger vein valve failure in her legs) at all and - in fact - seem to be doing a lot of good, as her legs feel great when she wears them; she wore them for a full 24 hours and asked me to order another pair for her! So... I have to order another two pair of these wonderful socks! One is for me (the one who discovered the "gold").

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfortable but not enough compression, March 2, 2011
By dpnation (Atlanta, GA)
These socks are comfortable and relatively cheap for compression socks, however I find that they are not compression-y enough -- just got a pair of 2XU compression socks and they are much more snug.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Compression Socks, February 24, 2011

Good product. I am an extremely petite woman so they could have been a little tighter. Overall, I am happy with the product. I used them to run a marathon the past weekend and my legs felt pretty good.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  This Works!, October 10, 2011
By R. Thomas
I usually have Achilles pain in both legs with more severe pain in right than left. I wore these on a 13 mile training run on Saturday 8 Oct 11, and had zero pain. I will definitely wear them on my next marathon.
