Great for Water, December 26, 2008
By Get out and Ride
This is my third CamelBak and great for water, tire repair and a snack. (The MULE is a better one for carrying more gear.) I like the ipod pocket, small tool kit pouch and harness system. It will keep most dirt and water out. The harness and bladder are small enough to incorporate into a larger backpack and can be quickly removed and worn for exploring. As with most bladder systems keep them full or keep them empty and most definitely-clean often. The LOBO will take care of your water and allows you to enjoy where you are.

Comfortable but no carrying capacity, September 14, 2009
By Eximio (Seattle)
If all you want to carry are fluids and a pocket knife plus maybe your wallet, this backpack is great. It is super comfortable, very ergonomic, and does not have a single spot that seems to rub you until your raw. I forgot I had it on during most of a 10 mile steep mountain climb. However, before leaving, I found myself wishing a had just a little extra room for carrying a few more items. I had to make choices like whether to carry my GPS or some extra food, my wallet or my flashlight, etc. Very good design however for the basic function it is intended to provide: hydration.

just the right size for half-day rides..., December 22, 2008
By chmodesto (Las Pinas, Philippines)
it has just the right size for a half-day ride. enough water to get you thru the trails and not too much to be too heavy to carry around. the compartments are just enough for a bike tool, extra tube and bike levers with extra space to spare for your wallet.

Used on MS 150, July 14, 2009
By Naomi M. Sundalius (Chaska, MN)
I used this on the MS 150 from Duluth, MN to the Twin Cities, MN and it work very nicely. Stops were typically 10-15 miles and I refilled the bladder pack every other stop. It did not cause too much excessive sweating due to excess heat and definitely helped to keep me hydrated.
The excess storage pockets were great for my arm warmers, camera, ID, etc.
I am happy I had it on the ride and plan on using it again next year.

Great item!!!, February 26, 2008
By Tim Banks (Houston, TX)
This is my first Camelbak, and I really like it. It takes some getting used to using the mouthpiece, and I have to say I've cleaned the heck out of it with the Camelbak cleaning kit prior to use, but I do still get a plastic taste to my water. Honestly though, when I'm riding, I really don't care. I don't use this thing enough. If you don't have one, I'd suggesst getting one. Well worth the investment.

Very nice for mountain biking, November 15, 2009
By badgn (New England USA)
I wanted to get a unit which was sculpted for mountain biking. The pack I wanted was for a 2 to 4 hour ride capacity. There is just enough storage for your keys, cell phone, wallet and maybe a snack. The 100 oz of water is the best choice in my opinion. You can always fill it less if you are worried about weight.
This unit is ideal for my needs. Some other units such as my wife's has a lot more space for a windbreaker or whatever. Those units should be used for hiking or extended rides. If you want to keep your pack light so you do not get a lot of weight shifting during manuvers than this is the one. The straps are verycomfortable and the orange color I selected may help you from being shot by a hunter.

Well worth it in Texas!, June 30, 2009
By Peanya (houston, TX)
My only complaint I have is the color - It doesn't match since I changed frames! Aside from that, it keeps my drink cold until it's empty! The storage places are big enough to carry my wallet, phone, some snacks, and energy shots. I also carry some wet wipes and aspirin which fit in some inner-pockets well too. The large reservoir is enough to last me for an entire 2 hour ride.

Camelbak Hydration Pack, October 15, 2010
By Dale Ratliff
I purchased the Camelbak Lobo 100 oz. hydration pack and I couldn't be happier with it. I purchased it mainly for hiking. In September, I first used it when I climbed Mount McLoughlin in Southern Oregon. (ele. 9495ft.)
I filled the 100 oz. bladder with all the ice that I could fit in it, then I poured water in the rest of the way. I then drove eighty miles to Mount McLoughlin and hiked three hours and fifteen minutes to the summit, with ice water all the way up and all the way back down. A total of eleven miles over a six hour period. I was blown away that the water stayed cold and that I had enough to last the entire trip.
One of the best features of this must have hydro pack is the no-leak bite valve that is at the end of the delivery tube. It's effortless to get a drink; unlike a canteen you don't have to stop, take off the lid, get a drink, put the lid back on, then continue. And it's much easier and less fatiguing to carry the water on your back. I hardly knew it was there. The bladder is easy to fill and easy to clean.
I use it every time I ride my bike. It's much easier than pulling the water bottle from the bike frame. Plus you can store a lot more water.
The Lobo is compact and light weight. It has two zippered storage compartments plus another compartment with easy access. Plenty of room to store your needs for an all day trip. The Camelbak is a durable unit that should last a long time. I would recommend it to anyone.

100 ounces of hot weather hydration in minimalist format, February 15, 2010
By B. Mark (East Texas)
This hydration pack won't carry several days worth of gear, but it does carry my essentials (I'm a minimalist) and 100 oz. of your favorite hydrating liquid. There is a fair amount of cargo space inside, but filling the cargo area tends to reduce the amount of liquid you can carry, or vise versa. My last pack was the original camelbak classic which had only a zippered cargo pocket (cell phone and keys) and an external cargo strap. This pack gives me the extra space I need without getting too big. The waist strap takes some getting used to. So far have only ridden cold temps to 16 degrees with no problems. Quality product I would highly recommend, love the external fill cap.

Product came in perfect condition, shipping was fast and hassle free. Xtra storage is helpful with wallets and keys. Waist belt is nice, prevents movement when running. Would recommend purchasing an insulated tube if used in hot weather.

Great product!, May 21, 2009
By Firefighter Rich (Lynn, MA USA)
Don't hesitate! I searched for a hydration pack long and hard. Tried on many models and for the price, features and comfort, this bag was pound per pound the best one in its category. The stitching, and material seem pretty sturdy and well done. Very light weight, even when filled with water, my wallet, phone, bike tools and Gerber tool. Has a mesh compartment for a bike helmet, and two compartments for storage. My first use was on a bike trek with a friend. Rode 22 miles and had no problems with comfort or otherwise. Can't wait to see how it holds in the cold for some cross-country skying. Great product!

Great Camelbak/backpack for biking!, September 28, 2008
By Philadelph (RI, USA)
This was my first Camelbak. Got it a few weeks back at least. I have used it plenty. Great water capacity and functionality. Also good enough space for carrying items. I use it mostly for mountainbiking. Have had zero problems and I can actually see most any problem being an easy fix. The reservoir also has a lifetime warranty from Camelbak which is a definite plus!

Great for Mountain and Road Biking, September 26, 2008
By Go Horns! (Austin, TX USA)
I've used this CamelBak for mountain and trail biking in the Texas heat for 4-5 hours at a time, and it has always kept me hydrated and cool. Even when full, the padded pack still feels comfortable. The multiple waist and chest straps keep the pack firmly secured to my body. I usually put a couple ice cubes into the full reservoir, and at the end of a 4 hour ride, the water is still cool and sometimes even cold. The reservoir is easy to refill mid-ride, but I've never had to, even when I had another person sharing the water with me.
This compact pack won't carry a lot, but it has enough storage space for a cellphone, wallet, bike pump, granola bars, spare tube and bandana. It's great for rides where you will end up where you started, but don't expect it to carry enough stuff to go camping with.

Very good, November 24, 2009
By Southern Belle (Lancaster, CA)
Good product, lots of pockets and clips, straps and belts. Very well though out and designed. The only reason I purchased this item at Amazon rather than the other websites that advertised it, is because of the many pictures of the displayed product: especially the image showing a person wearing it. This helped me get an idea of its approximate size. All the other websites I viewed that sold it only displayed the product by itself. This didn't help me in getting a visual understanding of the size of this thing. Just one more reason why Amazon gets about 90% of my esales.

Good Purchase, May 19, 2009
By B. Lukes (Seattle, WA)
The Lobo is very light and can hold plenty of water for a long bike ride, but it could use a bit more cargo space and I am not sure if I get any benefit from the hip strap. Also, taking out the reservoir to allow it to dry every time I use the pack is a pain. Despite these few weak points, I am, overall, quite happy with the Lobo.

Best hydration pack made, January 24, 2011
By Dirty Duck
I have owned the Lobo for two years. I use it three time per week on my bike rides. The lobo is perfect for MTB or even road biking. It holds a large quanity of water (100oz), is extremely durable and is well made. I have wrecked, fallen down hills, landed flat on my back, been over the bars (endo),ect and the Lobo has taken the abuse without a single problem. Even though it is two years old, its still looks like new. The bladder has never leaked. Storage is limited but I can still carry, an extra tube, tools, first aid kit, inflator, pump, cell phone and keys. If you want the best made, most durable, perfect sized pack for biking then buy the lobo. If you buy a cheap imitation -you will be sorry!!!!!!!!!

Pack for mountain biking, September 9, 2010
By bd
Purchased this pack for use on short (2-4 hour) rides and short track racing. Definately useful for its 100oz water capacity but some riders may find it necessary to supplement the gear capacity with storing gear in a saddle bag or a jersey pocket. In my pack I am able to store a spare tube, tire levers, multi tool, ID + cash, keys, cell phone and ~3 hrs worth of snacks. It is pretty full with that gear in the pack + a full bladder. It has an expandable external pocket that I feel could be used for storing a clothing layer during the winter/rainy times.
Would recommend for 2-4 hour rides or for the rider who is wanting a sleeker hydration pack.

Product is great. Service was not., January 11, 2011
By LOBrien

This product is great but in the end, Amazon did not send me the product. I ordered it on December 10, 2010 as a Christmas present. A full WEEK later, Amazon representatives called me to inform that the product was out-of-stock. They offered different products that were in-stock but told me that to ensure delivery by Christmas, I would have to pay for rush shipping. I promptly ordered from a different website that offered free rush shipping when I described my problem.

Biking backpack, August 21, 2011
By Morris11 (Minnesota, USA)
I really like this backpack. I have yet to use it for hiking, but it is great for bike rides, long and short. I don't have a waterbottle holder on one of my bikes, so this was a necessary purchase when my other pack fell apart. From the first use there was no plastic taste like there was in my previous (non-camelbak) pack. It has a great design and the ability to fill the bladder without taking it out of the bag is great. When you do need to take it out is is really easy though, had no troubles and putting it back in is easy too. I expect to get a lot of use out of this pack.
There isn't as much room in the pack as there was in my last one, but it is still very good for long bike rides. I took it on a 4.5 hr bike ride last weekend and it help more then enough snacks and water, plus it has straps to attach a light/rain jacket if needed.
I would recommend this pack (or any camelbak, really).

WOW! I got this for $39 plus shipping. I should've bought one of these long ago. For what i do there's plenty of storage... bike tools, tube, phone...and there were still more storage pockets. Very well-made. Once you start riding...you don't even realize it's on your back.keeps water cold pretty darn long.

Camelbak is awesome!, June 13, 2011
By Nick
I bought the 2010 model of the Camelbak Lobo 100 Oz hydration pack. It's served me well for about a month and the build quality is outstanding. Have 3 liters of water holds me over for a whole day of biking. If you're looking for more storage space, get the Mule. This pack is big enough to hold a wallet, keys, kyptonite bike lock, and sunscreen. Overall I think it's a great product, and I've recommended it to everyone I know who is somewhat serious about biking.

CamelBak Lobo Hydration Pak, July 31, 2008
By Mark Rodwell (Wichita Falls,TX)
I live in NE Texas and it gets HOT. During the June-August time frame our average is 103-105. I am getting ready for a Century ride and one week I really dehydrated myself, I lost 5 pounds water weight.
I bought the CamelBak Lobo and with its 100 oz capacity my water worries were over. I put it the fridge the night before and on my 3 hour ride the next day, I had cool water when ever I wanted it. The Lobo comes with 3 storage areas so you have room for the food, tubes, gels, pump and anything else you might want to carry.
If you are tired of trying to stuff extra bottles in your jersy pockets, I highly recommend a CamelBak hydration system, the Lobo suits my need just fine.

Nice hydration system, bad zipper string, June 14, 2008
By Kendall (California)

Overall, it's an awesome hydration system. Only problem is one zipper string broke the first time i used it. I didn't even pull on it much and it just ripped in half. I'm not too concerned about that issue though.
