Don't use for MTB, August 24, 2010
By Benjamin M. Devenney

After buying this and putting it in my MTB it gave out and popped in less than a month of use. If you are looking for a tube that will hold up well to any abuse look for the AVENIR thorn-resistant tube for only about 9 bucks!

Flat tire protection sux, September 10, 2010
By Nikolay Sukharev (Campbell, California USA)
|
|
I got this item and I made a mistake of trying to deflate it manually by pressing the valve. Result - the whole valve is now full of this blue stuff they put to prevent flat tires and it leaks the air as a result. I have to get a new tube and it won't be something with blue goo inside as in this one....

schwinn no longer means quality, June 28, 2011
By detomaso

If you remember Schwinn products as being the best as I did.. forget these tubes
these are brand new tubes in brand new tires and leak about 3-4 lbs of air per week.. requiring constant refilling
both tubes are the same.. both leak.. neither have been damaged or pinched
I have replaced these with my old tubes as they did not lose air
This is the first review I have written and the first product I have received from Amazon that was so poor I felt the need to warn others

Just replaced my first one but I got a good solid year of use out of it before hand. Nothing fancy. Just a good basic tube.

Great price great quality, June 14, 2010

I purchased this after the 'self sealing' tube exploded. The price was great and it's been a couple of months since install and no problems so far. I commute to work on my bike and it's been reliable and I've had no problems.

By Kathleen Hopkins (Los Angeles, CA)

I bought two of these tubes with my tires and it was a huge mistake. Within one week I had a slow leak in BOTH tubes, and within a week and a half I had to have them both replaced.

Never received the product, June 29, 2010
By InBaghdad

I probably would have been happy with the tubes, based on the other reviews, but the trouble is that I never got the 4 tubes I ordered, or the tire tool that was shipped with them. I received the other remaining items from the order that were shipped separately, but haven't seen the tubes, even though they shipped at the same time... And, I can't find anywhere to make a claim to Amazon, 'cause the only thing I can find has to do with mail tracking, and there was "no tracking available" on that shipment to my APO address. Hmmmm... What to do, what to do?

it really does leak, September 14, 2011
By P. Ng
|
|
I bought these because my local walmart was out of bells, or they were so poorly shelved, that i couldn't find them with the others.
I got these from a local target... unfortunately, it really does leak slowly! i installed it 3-4 days ago onto my mtb, pumped it up to 65 psi, just checked it and it's already around 58 psi! that's horrible!
I think i will try a thorn resistant one next time, maybe thicker rubber will compensate for the poor manufacturing.

The Schwinn Universal Tube (26-Inch x 1.9 / 2.125) is a good product for the price. I would buy it again if I needed to. I recommend it.

Was fine, no cracks, made the grade, November 2, 2011
By developer (Austin, Texas)

The first thing I do when I get a new tube is inflate it until it's 2-3x its size to check for warps, cracks, etc.
These things are fine. Ordering 4 more now (we're a biking family)
Here's a hint: get the green gunk from your local big-name hardware store. Get a valve-stem remover (some caps have them already) and use about 1/4 cup of the stuff inside the tube.
Go to a junkyard and cut out some seat-belts. Trim them and cut them to size for your tire, use a hot-glue gun to tack it into place if you need to.
The tire will weigh more, yes indeed. But you can go over thorns and nails, using this combination, and not have to worry about anything for just about forever.
