 Glue comes off easily, November 6, 2010

We have been using this heavy duty sponges for a long time. It had been serving its
purpose well. But the recent buys show some quality problem. The scrub surface
comes off the sponge after only a few uses. Clearly, the glue is not right. Perhaps,
they used cheaper glue to cut the cost? Will not buy it in bulk sizes in the future.

I have been using them for years so there is nothing unexpected. What is nice is that they just "show up" when I need them. Since I don't need them on a weekly / monthly basis, I always forget to pick them up from the grocery store. When I buy them in bulk I can buy them a couple of times a year. I like the convenience of having it delivered to my house.

Great for pots, but the scrubby surface separates from the sponge fairy soon, June 5, 2011

I really like this heavy duty scrub sponges for my pots and pans - they do a really good job! However, these sponges do not last that long. The green scrubby surface begins to separate from the sponge after a few uses. I usually use for a bit while only corners have separated, but then have to move on to the next sponge. I get around 3 weeks of use out of each sponge. So it is nice to have 18-count pack on hand.
I use these heavy duty sponges in combination with Scotch-Brite 3M Non-Scratch Scrub Sponges Scotch-Brite 3M Non-Scratch Scrub Sponges - 18-Count for lighter duty kitchen clean up. The non-scratch sponges have better longevity. Since they last a long time I micro-wave them for 1 minute (while they are wet) to disinfect them once a week. I don't micro=wave the heavy duty scrub sponges since they need don't last all that long.
A note on price: I found the best for these at Costco. Amazon price fluctuates. There is a nice online tool that I use to help catch a good price on Amazon, this tool is called "Online Price Alert". This tool will send you an email when the Amazon item price reaches the target price range that you specify. If you search on "online price alert" in Google it will be come up at the top. I find this tool to be very helpful.
But this sponge does a really good job, so I am sticking with it even though I wish it would stick together better!

These sponges are really great. I use them for my kitchen clean up and after a days use they are put in the dishwasher to assure their cleanliness. They will be on my list if they are not already on the subscribe and save list. Incidentally, subscribe and save has really saved me dollars. I don't have to drive too far to get the packages (about a mile) and since I live in the mountains I have to drive 60 miles to purchase anything. It has saved me having to go to the flat land over and over. Thank you Amazon.com!!!!

Yay for buying in bulk! I bought these to bump up to free shipping on Amazon, but I also knew I would need more.
I like them. The rough side is quite durable and the soft side is soft. Soooo soft. You can even rub it up against your face if you want to because they're so soft. Just a suggestion. I don't do it.
