Pop-Pop is a hero!!, March 12, 2010

I bought this for my grand daughters' 3rd birthday and it is a huge hit! She is definitely a girly-girl and is really into pink, so this hot-pink tricycle really hit a home run.
When I brought it in to the birthday party from my daughters' garage my grand daughter forgot about all of the toys she had already opened and ran to the front closet to get her coat so Pop-Pop (what she calls me) could take her outside to teach her how to ride on it. Since we had received 4 inches of snow the night before and were to get 3 more inches that morning the outside thing didn't work out so well. So she decided to ride it in the house. Running over the toys and other gifts she had already opened as well as other people at the party didn't seem to be a problem with her. However the black marks the rubber tires left on the walls were not her dad's favorite thing.
The tricycle was very easy to assemble as is very, very sturdy. With the adjustable seat and handle bars and the fact that it has a tubular steel frame and rubber tires rather than plastic, we expect this to last grand daughter #1 through to the point where she needs a two wheeler and it should still be going strong when grand daughter #2 (born last November) is ready for her first tricycle. We had purchased what is basically the same tricycle when my daughter was 3 (now she is 30) and when my kids were too old for it we gave it to a younger cousin for her children. The last time we were at her house we noticed that tricycle hanging from a ceiling hook in their garage waiting for the next generation of trike riders to enter the scene.

Our 2 yr old granddaughter loves her pink trike!, January 30, 2010
By Grandma Bev (Concord, California)

This Radio Flyer tricycle is well made and was exactly what we were looking for! Our 15 month granddaughter took off on it as soon as she saw it under the Christmas tree and hasn't stopped since. BUT, don't forget the helmet! She took a dive as soon as we got out on the pavement. Glad she had her helmet on! We liked the classic style of the dual deck, and it makes it easier to get on & off.

My daughter loves this bike!, January 24, 2010

Assembly is straight forward but needed tweaking and tightening after a couple of days. The right side wheel seemed to wobble a bit, but we ended up using the spare end-cap on that side. Overall, it's very solid & durable quality and my daughter loves cruising around our neighborhood on it!

Great tricycle!, October 20, 2010
By ElerisMom
|
|
I was very pleased with how quickly this arrived. It was very easy to assemble, and sturdy too. As somebody else did mention, it does have an odor, that gave me a headache, which I think is from the rubber tires. I think with time and some airing out it will be fine. The only other concern is that it states on the website it is suitable for 2-5 year olds, but on the actual box it recommends 2 1/2 to 5 year olds. Seeing that my daughter it about to turn two, I bought this, but it is too big for her. I will still be keeping it for later use because I believe that when she fits it, she will have a lot of fun with it!

This is the first night my daughter got her trike. It really is well made, and pieced together easily. You can see in the video...I had a very hard time capping the neck bolt, you can see the cover is not flush, because the neck bolt assembly seems bigger than the cap. I recommend a vice grip to assemble the neck, I didn't try it but I don't think a ratchet would fit. It must be very tight or else the wheel will go out of alignment and I had to turn the bolt as tight as I could to make sure. The bell is also very hard to push, you can see that she can still make it ring by touching it. I put her whole hand on the bell switch and she still couldn't do it. She likes the sounds and she will eventually be able to press it. The trike has been great. She ate breakfast on it the next day.
Another reason I posted this video is because I had a hard time finding the right bike for her height, and was worried she would not reach the pedals. I couldn't find any information on what height might fit this trike. My daughter is exactly 35 inches here, and 2 years old. With the seat on the lowest position, she can push the pedal forward, but not all the way around so she is still a few inches shy but I expected this. She will be able to push it shortly and I pleased at how well built it is and wifey loves it because it is cute. In the meanwhile, I tied a rope around the neck and tugged her around and she loved it.
Nice product and very pleased.

Cute Trike, but Stinky Tires and Damaged Seat, February 1, 2011
By Santo's Mama (TX USA)

My 2 year old loves this trike so far. However, it smells really bad...think it's the tires. Also, the seat arrived in defective/damaged condition. I requested a warranty replacement seat directly from Radio Flyer...who knows if we will actually receive one.

your chariot awaits..., June 23, 2011

This is such a cute bike, and my daughter was really excited about getting it! I was too!!!
I was able to put it together by myself, in about 30 - 40 min. which is pretty amazing for me! It did get a little complicated at the handlebars and the bottom step assembly, but it turned out great!
This bike is just like the red one except for a few things... pink of course, but also the quality of paint. We haven't had these for too long, and they do stay outside in the Southern CA weather, but the handlebar fringe has almost completely faded and is no longer pink and white, but yellow. Also, the pink paint on the steps is actually starting to fade. We have the red one as well, for our son, and have had it a bit longer than the pink one and it isn't showing any signs of fading. Not sure if it is just the quality of the paint, or just a one time defect, but it kinda sucks.
I really like this tricycle and I wish my daughter would ride it more, she wants a big girl bike and wants to skip this faze. lol!

My mother in law got this for our 4 yo daughter, and she loves riding in it, very easy to put together, loud bell, and girly touches, like the streamers on the handles and of course the pink all over. Our daughter says: "I think I love it!" Definitely recommend it.

Radio Flyer Girls Classic Dual Deck Tricycle, pink, December 8, 2010

I bought this tricycle for my granddaughter for Christmas. Although she hasn't received it yet, I'm sure that she will be thrilled. A previous review mentioned that the trike had an odor when received. Ours did, too, but since we were forwarded, it was not a concern. We simply aired it out for a few days - outside.

Love it but it stinks, September 18, 2010
By Diana J Kearns (Maple Valley, WA United States)

This tricycle is very cute and strong but it stinks soooooo bad. We have to keep it in the garage cause it was giving us a headache. When it has been in the garage overnight and the doors are all closed, the garage stinks like it the next day. I think it is the tires but it may be something in the paint. Horrible smell!!!

Very cute tricycle and even better when purchased as a "today's deal". Radio flyer is a known name for great products and this is one of them. Very strudy and cute in pink. There was a very small paint imperfection on the seat but not too worried as it will be used a lot and get markings anyway.

Traditional, all-metal Radio Flyer!, January 30, 2010
By HACCP Auditor (Michigan)

This traditional tricycle, in non-traditional PINK, was paired with a traditional RED Radio Flyer for a pair of 3-year-old twins this Christmas. You can't beat Radio Flyer's quality! Directions for assembly were easy to follow. Bike is sturdy and both kids LOVE them. The red is traditional and beautiful, but PINK is the way to a little girl's heart!

Too big for 2.5 year old girl, October 15, 2011
By St Pat (AZ)
|
|
We have a taller than most, 2.5 year old. We got this for Christmas last year, thinking she could grow into it and she is just now able to move the peddles with difficulty. She loves the look of it and wants to take it out all the time, but I wish we had waited til this Christmas, or purchased another. We don't really have the money to keep buying stuff, so we hope this will work for a couple more years until she gets a bike.

A Classic, August 22, 2011
By Joe Marietta (Kalamazoo, MI United States)
|
|
Bought two for my twin girl's 2nd b-day. Based on the reviews, I figured they would fit the girls perfect since we have above-average height girls... not the case. Our smaller girls is around 95% for height and it's definitely too big for her and her sister is a couple of inches taller (120%?) and it's just a skosh to big for her. No big deal, they'll grow into them but I was suprised. Assembly was easy, the trikes are sturdy, the only other complaint is the out-gassing of chemicals... stinks up whatever room their in, that can't be good for kids.

this is the classic radio flyer tricycle we've all grown up with but in pink. who couldnt love it?
the ONLY qualm i have with it is the smell at first. when you open up the box you get a big whiff of toxic plastic or paint smelling fumes. i had to set box and bike outside for a while and the bike still remains in garage and the garage stinky after 3 days! but i'm sure it will dissipate. its not intended for indoor use anyway so i am okay with the smell if it's being used outdoors.

Pink Trike, July 19, 2011
By Daisy
|
|
My granddaughter loved this gift! There's plenty of room to adjust the handle height and the seat hight, which is good because she's tall for her age. The bell is difficult to operate, no matter where you put it. Not kid friendly. The seat doesn't look comfortable but there haven't been any complaints so far.
If you assemble the trike yourself, don't forget to put the on the wheel/axle bushings FIRST (circular disks); before the axle end caps (red plastic). Otherwise, there'll be some heavy resistance on the end caps; trying to take them off is difficult.
Surprising that Target does not have this item in stock at the local store and does not offer to ship from their warehouse. However, if you order from Amazon, the item will ship from the Target warehouse. One would think you could order directly from Target. But, alas, NO. Is this majorly ridiculous or what?!

Strong fumes and smell, had to return, July 13, 2011
By new mommy (NY, NY)
|
|
Such a cute looking bike with good reviews... Was excited to receive it for my 2 yr old. Unfortunately, when we started opening the box, we were blown away by strong smelling paint fumes. We brought everything outside to assemble. I figured the smell would dissipate. 2 days later, our garage still smelled strongly of paint fumes. I washed it, left it outside to air out, etc. Nothing helped. I can't even give it away, I wouldn't want to expose other children to the fumes. Amazon was great when i explained our dissatisfaction with this product.

She loves it!!!!!!!!!!, June 29, 2011
By Jamaal Young (SAINT LOUIS, MO, US)

I ordered this for my daughter's 3rd B-day. Like most folks do when the kids actual b-day is on a week day, we had her party on the weekend. The item was late and did not arrive til Monday June 27th which happened to be her actual b-day. Assembly was fairly easy asside from tightening the handle bars to the frame, and there was a strong odor upon opening the box but that eventually faded. I will never forget the look on her face when she saw her first trike/bike or how happy she is to ride it. The metal frame is very durable and I'm predicting it's going to last a very long time. Radio Flyer is a great brand and Amazon.com always does a great job with my orders & correcting any mistakes. I would strongly recommend for the little one you have in mind.

Beautiful Bike, June 15, 2011
By Amazon Groupie

We had been looking for a tricycle for our granddaughter's 2nd birthday. Lots of planstic, non-durable, not cute stuff out there. Came across this beautiful (pink no less) Radio Flyer tricycle, the real rubber wheels, metal bell. Being that she is only 2, I really liked the second step for her to get up on. Fabulous idea. It was shipped right away, all parts enclosed. Overall, very very happy with the bike (as was she) and the service too. Thanks!

Defective Product, May 22, 2011
By S. Williams

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She did not really try to ride it until it got warmer. The handle bars and seat are totally defective. I contacted Radio Flyer, so we'll see how that goes. I have found this to be a piece of junk. The parts are high quality, but once assembled, it doesn't work at all. Maybe I just received a defective one?! I will update if I hear back from Radio Flyer.

My husband had to re-drill holes in the curved bar under the seat as it didn't match up to the two areas that are to be screwed in. Otherwise, solid construction. Also, Amazon lists it as recommended for 24 months to 5 years. However, the packaging says 2.5-5 years. it is a little big for my 2 year-old yet.

Good and bad, February 22, 2011
By Delicate flower (Scranton, PA USA)

I bought this tricycle for my granddaughter for Christmas. It was not difficult to put together, but when I unpacked the parts, the front fender was dented. It was too late to return it, so I had to go out and purchase another one at the last minute. Just be sure if you order one, that you check all the parts before you begin to put it together. Also, allow enough time for a return should that be necessary.
Although it was a challenge, my granddaughter really loved the replacement. It's sturdy, it's the perfect size, and I am sure she will enjoy for a long time... until she is ready for a two-wheeler, any way.

Beautiful and old school, January 28, 2011
By EagleRock Dude (LOS ANGELES, CA USA)
|
|
I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old girl. First of all its beautiful. I had purchased another brand last year that was mostly plastic and had plastic wheels. She just could not ride it that well(she only took an interest lately).
My theory was it was the wheels slipping and the whole thing in general just being wobbly. I want a trike like they used to have in the old days with rubber wheels. These days all you seem to get is plastic everything where the point seems to be to reduce cost or...well I don't know what the point is.
Anyway..this trike besides being beautiful..is all metal..my daughter can ride it way better than the other one(which actually cost more). We gave that one away to a friend. But I actually felt a little odd that because now that little girl will be stuck with the plastic trike too!
This is a great trike. I have the seat and bar at the lowest setting and it looks like she will be able to ride it for years. It will last that long too. Just what I was looking for. An old school trike.

Solid Purchase, January 23, 2011
By Lioness4ever
|
|
Well Built while also being easy to assemble the few parts that do need to be put together.
Solid steel construction you just don't see anymore, with a bell that will remind parents of their own first tricycle.
While we purchased this for a 2 1/2 year old, it was a little early for the purchase as her legs do reach the petals but she needs time to be a child and grow into it power wise. But hey, this thing will be there!
Simplistic design with red tap on end caps, easily replaceable later on should they rust, as they will because mother nature is magnetic, creating corrosion between dissimilar metals... Glad to see the company thought this through ahead of time, making this item a pass on to the next child.
Good job, Highly recommended.

GREAT CLASSIC TOY!, January 11, 2011
By TBSTRAT
|
|
My daughter's legs are not quite long enough to push the pedals on her own (2yrs, 3months), but she loves her "bike" to death! It is her "Cadillac" as we have come to call it. So many toys are being made from cheap plastics, but there is no replacement for a toy that will hold its value and withstand the bruising it will take over the next 2-3 years! I look forward to using it for years to come and hopefully passing it on to her to use for her daughter when the time is right...lets hope about 30 more years! :)

This was a fantastic buy. It is just the most gorgeous little Tricycle and the pink colour is just too cute for girls. It is extremely sturdy and will last a life time. It arrived on the day that amazon said it would (to Australia), which was amazing. To order and purchase this Trike was very easy and staight forward. I would recommend this Radio Flyers Trike to anyone. It was well worth it.

When I said I was going to get a tricycle for my 2 year old I wanted something cute and durable! I looked a several different ones and this one by far came out on top. All the others had plastic wheels and cheap plastic parts! Once I found this one it may be think about all the fun I had play with my Radio Flyer red wagon when I was a kid! I am 30 and that wagon is still around! The two year has been having her sister push her around since she is still a little short to reach the petals!

I found it on Amazon for $47 with free shipping. My daughter is big for her age, but she will be able to ride on it for a few years since, my 6yr old can ride it too. She especially loves that it has a step on the back. My daughter is pretty girlie and loves pink. I thought she would like the disney princess bike better, but no not at all. I really didn't need to get her anything thing else for Christmas. Best Bike Ever! FYI: We bought a basket to put on the front of the bike, but had to return it. The basket just kept falling forward due to the handle bars being spread out. No biggie though.

Pkg. arrived very quickly and was exactly as we expected. It is a beautiful tricycle and perfect for our granddaughter. She hasn't been able to enjoy it for very long because of the extremely cold weather, but we look forward to warmer days and plenty of riding time.

Purchased this as a Christmas gift for my 3 year old niece. She LOVED it! It arrived in one medium sized box, required assembly which was pretty simple...took less than an hour. Her face lit up the second she saw it! Its durable, she's pretty rough on toys so thats a plus! Overall, this is a great gift!

Radio Flyer Girls Classic Dual Deck Tricycle, Pink
I bought this tricycle for my three-year-old granddaughter and she loves it. I wanted to get a high quality bike and knew I could depend on Radio Flyer. The bike is a beautiful pink. I loved it the minute I opened the box. It is the good, old-fashioned metal tricycle. Easy to assemble, solid as a rock. Well worth the money and very high quality. I'm so glad they added the pink one. I intend to buy my grandson the red one in a couple of years. I wouldn't buy anything but Radio Flyer.

Great Tricycle, January 30, 2012
By B. Norvell

I bought this for my granddaughter for Christmas. She is 3 and had really enjoyed the little purple and pink tricycle she had for a couple years but had outgrown it. I read all the reviews and was anxious for her to see it. She was so excited on Christmas day. She loves the ability to climb up the back steps to get on the tricycle. It is metal and very sturdy and will give her a lot of enjoyable riding days. Highly, Highly recommend. It is a large tricycle. We have it in the smallest setting so she still has lots of room to grow.

Easy to Assemble, Easy to Use, January 5, 2012
By Sabrina2006
|
|
This was a present for my two-year-old. It was easy to assemble and she was able to hop right on and pedal around the driveway without much guidance or trouble. The bell is very difficult for young hands to use. We ended up removing it because she was trying to use both hands to ring it. Other than the tricky bell, this tricycle was a great buy!

Positive Review from Australia, December 29, 2011
By Millicent 8-)

Item came as described. I was initially concerned due to item requiring to be delivered from overseas, however the parcel tracking feature was great - unfortunately there was a delay at Australian Customs, otherwise the trike would have arrived sooner.
Easy to assemble and looks sturdy - my daughter loves it even though she is still a bit small for it.
Would strongly recommend for any potential buyers.

Some Visual Problems, December 26, 2011
By O. mead

This trike had extreme order upon opening the box. It took three days to air out, then it was fine. The larger problem however was the dent in the front fender and several scratches on the back rack. It seems like a sturdy product, but the lack of perfection on the aesthetics was a big disappointment. Too much of a hassle to take apart and ship back, but I would expect more from a brand new Radio Flyer.

Lily's surprise!, December 25, 2011
By pushover

This was purchased as a Christmas present for my grandaughter Lily. She absolutely loved it. It was easy to put together and it appears very durable and to last for several years of fun at grandmas. The only thing that could use some adjusting was the little bell that attaches to the handle bars. It was hard for me to ring it and she had to use both hands. But over all it was a big hit.

Love the quality., December 6, 2011

We chose this tricycle for our 2 1/2 year old daughter. Love the rubber tires. They will work well in the lawn, unlike the other ones with hard plastic. :) We wanted something high quality and we got it! Can't wait for our daughter to see it under the Christmas tree this year. We bought a basket for the front of it. To hold her dolls or water bottle etc.

I purchased this as a gift for a 3 year old. It is such a cute tricycle, I'm sure she will love it. I had a friend assemble it for me (not my cup of tea to assemble things) and they said it was easy.

GREAT TOY!, December 2, 2011
By Amber

My daughter is 2 in two weeks and she is in the fiftyith percentile for height so average and she can ride it at its smallest setting... I put it together in about 15 minutes which i found amazing! My husband was even surprized. I dont have any of the problems that some people said they did like the handle bars moving, i just lined them up with the front tire and used a socket wrench to tighten them down, and as far as the smell its not as bad as i expected after reading the reviews. To me it smelt like Les Schwab when you first walk it, you know like a Rubber Tires. Before i assembled the trike i washed the tires in the sink with soap and warm water then assembled it and after two days in the garage it smelled fine. I think its super cute and my daughter thinks its super fun so WIN WIN
