5.0 out of 5 stars.  Miz Della Cruz is HOT!, September 5, 2009
By www.willinoisbmx.com
Being a bike snob I researched many bikes of this style and decided on the Miz Della Cruz by Diamond Back for my little girl. Her 16" was a Diamond Back and we were very happy with it. Also being a BMX racer back in the day, and a friend of the Diamond Back Team Manager Sandy Finkelman, I have a warm spot in my heart for the Daimond Back name. DB is one of the only companies that make reasonable priced bikes that has not been acquired by Pacific (Dural), the company that ruined GT and Mongoose. Diamond Back is now owned by Raleigh America which employs Americans! Raleigh is one of the oldest UK bike companies making quality bikes. For the money this is a quality bike and a great value. The yellow is a pearl color and more beautiful in person. I highly recommend this bicycle.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great bike for 7-11+ year old girls, October 23, 2009
By hartman (Seattle, WA USA)
My daughter loves this bike. She just fits into it; she is almost 7 (1st grade), and learned to ride without training wheels on a smaller bike a few months ago. She easily jumped on this much larger bike and was cruising away. The frame style makes it easy to get on/off the large frame. The bike is very sturdy and appears to provide a comfortable ride. She just loves it!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Bike for our 9 year old, December 1, 2009
By Stephanie from Emerald Isle (Noth Carolina)
Our daughter wanted a beach cruiser bike for her 9th birthday, We live on the beach, so the local beach shops had some VERY nice beach cruisers but were in the $300+ range ... a little too high for us - plus, she is only 9! I found this one on Amazon, after looking at the target and toys r us websites (and other discount bike websites). I was a little leary buying a bike over the internet, but the price was right so we took a chance. It came in 3 days w/ standard shipping. It was in one big box. The tires, seat and handlebars had to be assembled.

Our daughter is average size to a little shorter than avewage, and the 20 inch bike is the PERFECT size. The bike seems to be of good quality and sturdy. The paint is a pale yellow with pretty flower decals (pretty but still "cool") . The tires are what I like most, they are white walled with a bright pink rim - assembled this bike looks better than the picture. The seat has some pink, white and yellow polka dots on it. All in all very stylish and definitely what a 9-11 year old girl would want. My husband, who is very handy, complained a little about the lack of good directions in putting it together (it comes "mostly" assembled, as heretofore mentioned). While there was a manual, the directions for assembly were not detailed. It took about 40 minutes to assemble completely, so I would just caution the buyer to have someone handy put it together or take it a bike shop - I say that because my DH cursed a few times during assembly.

Thus far, the bike seems to be of good quality for a reasonable price.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Great bike / Horrible instructions, October 17, 2010
By Mike Chambers (San Francisco, CA United States)
Bought this for our 9 year old daughter. The bike is really nice and built well. This is something we will have for year and will be able to pass it down to our younger daughter.

I'm only giving the bike 3 stars though as the instructions for putting the bike together are atrocious. The bike actually comes with a booklet that shows how to put together every bike that he company builds which make it extremely difficult to find and follow the instructions for this model. Even worse, part of the bike installation is not covered at all in the manual. I had to come to amazon and look at the product pictures to figure out how to install some of the items.

Great bike, but if you are not mechanically inclined I would pass on it, or ensure you have someone who can help you out.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Miz Della Cruz 20", January 5, 2010
By Tim Read (Brooklyn, USA)
Further to Bret Schroeders comments above. Diamondback may well be owned by Raleigh America now but do let let yourself be fooled, as I was, into thinking the bike is made in the USA! It is clearly marked on the box, "Made in China". I am British and have lived in the US now for 4 months, is it possible to find any mass manufactured consumer goods that are not made in China? From clothes to household goods to bikes, everything seems to be made in china, ever wondered why the US has financial problems? Look no further! As a side note, the UK is going down the same path, god forbid!

Getting off my soap box now, the bike appears to be well made and packed. All the parts were there and with a minimum of hand tools, easy to assemble. My daughter who is a leggy 6yr old finds it comfortable and loves the style and colours. As she has only had the bike since xmas I can say nothing about the durability, if we experience any problems I will update this review.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  The perfect bike!, April 25, 2010
By M. Bremer (California)
I had been looking around for quite some time for a nice quality bike for my 6 year old daughter. I wasn't impressed with what was offered at local stores, so I started looking online. This bike will cost you a little more that your average Toys R Us bike, but it is money well spent. What a great bicycle!! Not only is it super cute, it's also a great quality purchase. The seat is very comfy, and my daughter is so thrilled. I got a little basket to go with it (Avenir Wicker Bicycle Basket with Black Velcro (Small), and she's so excited to put her dolls and a bottle of water in it when we go for rides. Highly recommend it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A quality eye catcher, March 30, 2010
By E. Johnson
Assembly took minutes since most of the bike was pre-assembled. The quality of the bike is great. Everyone who sees my daughter on the bike makes a comment on how nice the bike is. There is no comparison to most kids bikes. Your friends will say "I wish I would have bought one of those for my daughter". Great deal for the cost too!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Diamondback Girl's Cruiser, February 12, 2010
By mom Megan (Kaysville, Utah)
Darling!!! The color is the best yellow, the decals are sooo cute and the pink tires just tie it all together. It is very durable and such a great deal for what you get. I bought the $10 wicker basket to go with it (also available at Amazon) and it was the icing on the cake!!! I can't wait for my daughter turning 6 to get it for her birthday...she will LOVE IT!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Beautiful Bike even for a tall 8 year old, February 6, 2010
By Brandi Troxel
This bike is very well made! Paint is well done, colors are as shown on site. My daughter is just learning to ride a bike and this is a bike that is a good size and doesn't require squeezing handles or hurting your hind! The bike came in a long flat box with assembly required, but not difficult! I recommend this bike, especially with this great price!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  W O W, February 20, 2012
By I. Patcherezov (Washington, DC)
Incredibly beautiful, incredible quality!!! My daughter loves it. On her first ride, she said so about 4-5 times. I have purchased several bikes thru the years and this is by far the best. It comes very much assembled. The only thing one needs is the orange Mirrycle Incredibell Brass Duet Bicycle Bell.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  very nice bike, August 8, 2011
By ParsnipPete (Germantown, TN)
Bought this for my 8-year-old daughter who's 4'2" - fits her very well. The bike is great-looking and seems to be good quality - I see no reason why it won't last through 2 girls. This was not difficult to put together: it comes mostly assembled, you put on the handlebars, seat, pedals, front wheel, and front fender. It comes with a flat wrench and the right size Allen wrenches - you'll need your own screwdrivers and adjustable wrench. So far very pleased with it. Only gripes: the assembly manual is pretty lame (how hard would it have been to include a 1-page model-specific diagram?); one of the spoke-mounted reflectors was broken and is not usable; it came with reflectors that I guess on most bikes would go on the handlebars and under the seat, but they don't fit this bike - ignored them; the bolt/nut for adjusting and tightening the seat height were just rolling around loose in the bottom of the box, would have been a real pain if they had been lost. Still, 5 stars for the overall quality, style, value, and the fun my daughter's having!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent bike, stylish, comfortable and good material., June 21, 2011
By rpv (CA)
This is an excellent bike. Ordered from Amazon, some minor assembly required. I did the assembly in couple of hours, made sure things are ok. Purchased in Dec, and it was idle for 5 months. Once school was nearing end, started my daughter to learning it. She did not have balance to begin with. Had training wheels on a smaller one before. She is 8 yr old and going to third grade. One trick learned from REI website as to remove the pedal and learn the balance. She tried for 1 week like that. Then she started pedaling with balance. Got her the Razor helmet and Mongoose knee and elbow pad. She is enjoying it now and practicing every day. This is a wonderful bike and I highly recommend it. Though pricy compared to cheaper ones at large brick/mortar stores, but worth it. Hope it comes for few years.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice, but watch out for missing parts., May 22, 2011
By saybeachtjs
My 9 year old loves her new bike. It is a bit small, but she is a nervous rider so it suits her well. The packaging was missing pieces to put the bike together. We had to go to the hardware store to purchase what we needed. Also, for such a small bike it was not easy to put together. In the end, it is adorable and rides smooth. Just don't wait until the last minute.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Pretty Bike, January 29, 2011
By D Co (St Petersburg, Florida United States)
Great looking bike. My daughter is not very comfortable on bicycles - yet. She climbed on a rode around no problems. Somehow she got so comfortable that she remembered that she is terrified of bicycling. But she loves the designs on the bike, especially the little birds decal that are on the rims. (we have pet birds, and she felt that the bike was customized just for her with that detail.)
I didn't buy the bike through Amazon, but used the reviews on Amazon to base my decision. I went to my local bike shop, had them order and build the bike, and I am pleased to have gone that route.
Now if I can just get her past the terror, it would be an all around win!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Go For It. Easy To Assemble!, December 10, 2010
By Tom Guarnera
I saw a number of online reviews talking about the difficulty putting the bike together. Just go for it, the bike is pretty easy to put together. Most of the bike comes pre-assembled. It also comes with a pretty decent set of allen wrenches. You only need one, but the send the whole set if you ever decide to do something silly and strip it down to its bare bones. It also comes with a simple/cheap box wrench that is more than good enough for the job.

I didn't look at the directions much at all. I mean, the handle bar looking things go where you would expect the handle bars to go.

Really, the hardest part was to figure out which way the front fender went. I was also building a second bike for my other daughter and I was two beers in when I got to this one. Maybe that is the magic tool needed for an easy build.

I did see one or two reviews that spoke of the bike arriving over tightened. I can agree with that. The back tires on our's was a little stiff. I backed off the wheel bolts a tiny bit and all was well. In a pinch, a bike shop should do this for you for $5-10 for 3 minutes of work.

Great solid bike that I can't wait for Santa to deliver it so I can see her out riding. We got the yellow one. Our order kept slipping as I suspect many other people wanted this bike for Christmas. I don't even see the yellow offered anymore.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Take it to a bike shop!!!, July 19, 2010
By Scott Dedenbach (Manchester, Michigan, US)
I'll preface by saying that I "luckily" am a bike mechanic. I bought this bike along with a Mini Della Cruz for a friends 2 daughters. I like that they are not branded with "Barbie" or Hanna Montana or something.

The state of these bikes coming out of the box is terrible. EVERYTHING on these bikes is over tightened!! One wheel was overtightened to the point of almost not turning. While there was no shipping damage to the bikes I get the impression that they were just thrown into the box. The Mini had 3 of the little tool sets that they include for assembly. After completing the assembly of the Miz, I was disappointed when one of the tires went flat. Upon taking it apart to replace the tube I discovered that the tube was twisted and balled up and basically just thrown into the tire. It required that I go buy a new tube and fix it properly. Also the front fork on the Miz was too small for the front hub and had to be forced apart slightly to get it to fit. The Miz was also missing a reflector screw.

I think the bikes are overall quality kids bikes but would recommend you take them to a bike shop that knows what they are doing and can properly put them together. Who know what might be wrong with the ones you order.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Buy it now before they're sold out!, May 20, 2010
By kbnh99 (Hampton Roads, VA)
I went to my local (very cool) bike shop this morning to order this bike, thinking it would be just as easy to get it there and have them put it together, maybe save me a bit of time. Surprise! All 3 of their distributors are out of stock with no restock date in sight. Needless to say, I raced home to order from amazon. Phew! I think I just saved summer for my daughter!

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Concern About Quality, April 19, 2010
By Parker Lyons (San D)
Shopping for a new bike for my daughter, I was very disappointed by my local retailers. Their inventory was limited and over-priced. This Diamondback was the right size, best looking and best priced bike I found in a two-week search. The purchase via Amazon was typically flawless, and the bike was delivered faster than expected.

Easy to assemble, the tools needed are provided in the box; I had the bike operational in 30 minutes. On the first ride, my daughter got all kinds of comments about how cool her bike was!

However, there is an issue with a bearing in the rear wheel (this is pre-assembled) that I have yet to have repaired. There is a sound of metal rubbing inside the wheel. I suspect the foot brake mechanism is not properly seated (it's been a while since I took one of these apart, but I remember that aspect of reassembly was a little tricky). The effect is this metal rubbing sound when the bike is coasting. But it is absent when braking (works fine) and peddling.

I need to check my warranty and repair options and that will decide whether my final review will be 2 stars or 4 stars....

I took the bike to a local retailer who also sells this bike. The warranty issue took a little longer than I expected, but a Diamond Back tech in the area came by and fixed the bike to my full satisfaction.

THIS IS NOW 4 STARS.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Bike!, September 13, 2011
By momof3
This bike is well made and looks great. The quality and style are better than anything I found in the stores. Purchasing this online was a great choice. My 7 year old daughter fits on it perfectly and the design is sweet but not babyish and not too old either. I think this bike will fit her as she grows the next few years.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  DO NOT BUY!, December 24, 2011
By Balderdash Nonsense (Florida)
DO NOT BUY!! Of the two things Santa was bringing my daughter for Christmas (both ordered from Amazon)this was one of them (the other didn't arrive on time). It arrived late, even with expedited shipping, and when we went to put it together, the front wheel would not go on. The u-shaped steel was a 1/4 inch too close together. We either had to put out a broken bike or explain to our daughter that Santa forgot her. How awful. We were so disappointed. On top of that, the sale page does not list a weight. This bike is HEAVY! If you are looking for a lighter bike, this is not it. It also seems like it is on the small side of a 20 inch. You get what you pay for I guess. Ours went back to Amazon. We are searching for an aluminum framed 24 inch, even if it costs more.
