Well, I got it together..........., September 27, 2010

This will inevitably be a two part review. I as the builder and my wife as the rider. First off NO DIRECTIONS. I won't say thay I am not mechanically inclined, but by no means am I very good with this sort of thing either. The fact there were no directions really put me off, almost to the point of saying no thanks. But in an effort to please my wonderful wife and my 22 month old daughter (more to follow) I endeavoured to do good. I believe this bike would have been really easy to put together except that it had some 'classic' extra pieces that took some imagineering to ensure I got right. I was really surprised to find no on-line resources to help me with the no-direction issue, but for the first time in a long time even the internet failed me. No resources anywhere to help. With the help of a little time and patience I was able to finish this task.
Now that the bike is together with only two extra bolts laying about I must say 'well done good sir, well done'. I am a bit worried about one last thing though, as I stood back in my man pose of success one teensie weensie 'lock washer' came tumbling down from somewhere. I hope that this was just one of those things and that my lovely bride's review will not contain anything about this mystery lock washer and how it may have caused the utter collapse of this fine looking 'at this time' stationary bike.
It is most definitely a good looking bike. I have also attached the Ibert Safe 'T' Seat to this bike. More to follow on this topic.

CRUSIN WITH MY DIAMONDBACK, June 15, 2010

Love this bike!! I had to have it put together at a professional bike shop as there were parts that were missing and not all of the bolts/screws were tightened properly. The shop also made sure the tires were properly inflated and the seat adjusted for my height. They added a kickstand as none was included. Total extra cost for me for the adjustments and parts was about $30.00 Now that I am riding the bike; I love it!!! Everyone in the neighborhood comments on my "hot new wheels"!! It is not a "57" chevrolet, but makes me feel like I am riding a "classic"!
