Harry and his beloved dinosaurs have a dental appointment and they are all very nervous—especially Tyrannosaurus, who has so many teeth. But with Harry’s reassurances and a magic button to make him grow big, Tyrannosaurus agrees to let Dr. Drake take a look. Funny, accessible illustrations and a gentle text help alleviate the fear of this very typical life-lesson.

Harry and the Bucket full of Dinos go to the Dentist, September 6, 2009
|

Harry and the Dinosaurs Say "Raahh!"
The first Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs was really the best. We got two others including this one. They are ok, but they just didn't have the same magic. It could be that by the time we got the others my boy was interested in books with a little more to them and these seemed kind of baby-ish. Still they aren't bad. In this one Harry is worried about his visit to the dentist. The dinosaurs are worried too. Unlike the other books in this one Harry has a button to push and the dino gets large and gives the dentist a scare. Previously only Harry could interact with them to everyone else they are just a bucketful of old dinosaur toys.

Harry's Dinosaurs, November 6, 2004

Ian Whybrow has come out with another wonderful picture book entitled Harry and the Dinosaurs say "Raahh!" It is a wonderful book to introduce the idea of visiting the dentist to children. A little boy named Harry is afraid to go to the dentist because his older sister told him that the dentist drills and fills teeth. Being a little afraid he goes in search of his dinosaur friends in his room. Harry takes the dinosaurs to the dentist with him and lets them try everything first. Harry felt better after his toy dinosaurs tried everything first and was willing to corporate with the dentist. He found out that the dentist office was not such a scary place. This is a great resource for children that have never been to a dental office and might want to know what is expected. The bright color cartoon illustrations are visual appealing to both children and adults. It is easy for children to relate to dinosaurs and their toys coming to life.
