Ecologically sound, yes. Faith in what it is designed to do, no.

I get a piece of mind with the eco-mindedness of this product. But, I have been only able to get a couple dozen or so brushings out of each brush before the head abruptly snaps off. I unfortunately bought a huge bulk box of these brushes (3/4s of which have met this fate so far). I called the company and got the email contact for someone who was supposedly able to handle my issue. So I emailed that individual over a month ago and never heard back, so my customer service experience has been poor as well.
Environmentally, ok product... I guess. But as far as a tooth brush is concerned, FAILS AT LIFE... miserably!

Why is the neck so thin?

This is a great idea. I wish more plastics were replaced by biodegradable options like this. But for some reason the neck of this brush is so thin that they easily break. I'm not sure why or what the purpose of this is, but it's annoying. It has happened to me twice now. Fix that problem and I'd give it five stars.
