What we left out of Earthpaste is just as important as what we put in. Earthpaste’s ingredients are all natural and from the Earth. No glycerin, no fluoride, no foaming agents, no artificial coloring. Earthpaste is simple: water, Redmond Clay, Real Salt, xylitol, and essential oils. Redmond Clay — Food Grade Redmond Clay is a polishing cleanser that has been used for centuries to promote digestive health. Redmond Clay’s high pH helps counteract acidic levels in the mouth where cavities are formed. Purified water — Purified water naturally hydrates the clay into a creamy paste. Natural xylitol — We use xylitol from non-gmo birch and corn to help give Earthpaste its yummy flavor and to promote healthy teeth. Xylitol helps maintain a neutral pH level in the mouth and can also help prevent bacteria from sticking to teeth. Less acid and less bacteria equals a healthy mouth! Do you prefer a toothpaste with no xylitol? Try Earthpaste’s unsweetened Spearmint! Wintergreen — This oil lends a sweet, minty flavor and has been used to promote dental health. Tea Tree Oil — This essential oil is in all of our flavors except lemon twist. It is a strong microbial, helping your teeth and gums feel fresh and clean and supports oral health with excellent anti-viral and anti-fungal properties. Menthol — Found in peppermint and wintergreen Earthpaste, menthol leaves your breath fresh and mouth feeling clean. Lemon, Lemon Verbena, Tangerine, and Lime — These citrus essential oils are what give our Lemon Twist Earthpaste such a pleasing flavor. You may wonder if the acidic nature of citrus fruits is a problem for your teeth, but you can relax since citrus essential oils are pH neutral, making them a fine choice for your dental care. Peppermint — Peppermint oil will make your breath smell fresh, and it’s widely used to promote stress relief and support digestion. Spearmint — Spearmint essential oils are known for their antimicrobial properties which makes it a great ingredient in Earthpaste. Cinnamon — Cinnamon brings a familiar, spicy flavor along with its reputation as an antioxidant used to promote healthy immune function.
