The ledges are too small for most of my medications. Maybe okay for private use but for my practice, it should be wider.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Like it, don't love it., September 02, 2015

This safe is wonderful for the price, It meets DEA requirements and was a lot less money than drug safes available through our suppliers. When Tramadol and Proin became controlled, we needed a bigger safe and this was the solution. It isn't deep enough for a 1000 count bottle of Tramadol from one manufacturer to fit on the shelf. The bottle will rest on the lip of the shelf and the door will close and lock. There also isn't enough space for tall bottles, so Proin lays on it's side. The tiny amount of space between the goofy shelf in the upper left and the shelf below it is unusable. They show what looks to be three 12cc syringes in the space in the photo. Who has just three huge syringes? And why would you lock them up? All that said, it's a good value for the money and I'd give it five stars if they got rid of the two "corner" shelves and used the saved money to make them a half inch deeper.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Just a little too secure., July 21, 2015

Arrived on time. Seems solid. Looks great.

Unfortunately, this unit is a little too secure, as it has arrived with one of the sets of keys locked inside! Ordering a replacement key from the lock manufacturer so we can use our lovely new cabinet. A simple enough mistake, may update this review when I'm feeling a little more forgiving.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  A strong cabinet with easily-defeated locks (so what's the point???), July 16, 2015

This is a sturdy cabinet. The heavy-gauge steel door is recessed (with close tolerances) when locked, making it more difficult to pry open.

I give it two stars because the locks are crap. I was able to pick BOTH locks in about ten minutes with no lockpicking skills other than what I learned in a 15-minute YouTube video. I had access to a pair of needle-nose pliers, a paperclip, a hairpin (yes, a hairpin), a hammer, and a hard surface to suffice for an anvil. I was able to fashion a tension wrench and a rake and pick both locks. These are the ONLY locks I have EVER tried to pick, and they both yielded in less than five minutes each. With some practice, I could probably pick both locks in a half-minute or less.

Why put crap locks on a good cabinet? A simple barrel-lock would have completely defeated me (and most anyone else).
