Dr. Barry Polansky shares incredible insight into the evolution of dentistry through his experience as a solo practitioner. His wisdom is valuable, particularly for the clinician in the first half of her career. Our profession gifts us with the ability to make choices to best benefit the overall health of our patients and selves. Barry asks the right questions to do so!

This book is a treasure. I am a fan of Barry Polansky's books and this is the best yet. He leads the reader through his own journey of discovery and development and provides insight and guidance about what it takes to find a lifetime of happiness in this special profession. Understanding ourselves and all of the people we touch allows us to value our work, appreciate the trust bestowed upon us and develop our unique definition of success. I loved reading this book and highly recommend it.

‘The Complete Dentist’ reads like a fascinating novel ... a real page turner. Dr. Polansky drops numerous psychological pearls on skills of effective communication; communication skills that would benefit anyone dealing with the public. This book is a must for today’s technically proficient practitioner who would like insight into better communication with patients. The book is easy to read, informative and very enjoyable. The Complete Dentist is a must for all dentists. So much excellent material in this book. What I liked the most is Dr. Polansky's concept of the human side of dentistry. So much of dental education is directed towards the technical side of dentistry as he describes. This both lacks fulfillment for the patient and the practitioner. My complaint.....so much good information that I will need to re- read this book a couple of times to gather as many pearls as possible.
