Product Description:

Oral Soft Tissue Diseases, 4th Edition, is designed to assist in the diagnosis and management of patients with oral soft tissue diseases. This is a visually-cued manual, organized into 9 convenient, tabbed sections providing a user-friendly format for the busy dental professional - a perfect chair-side reference. Some oral soft tissue diseases exhibit distinctive clinical features and require little more than visual recognition to make an accurate diagnosis. Others share common features making an accurate diagnosis more challenging. Recognizing the clinical features most helpful in differentiating one lesion from another is an essential part of the diagnostic process. In this manual, each lesion is illustrated by one or more color photographs depicting typical clinical features and common variations. Recommendations for treatment and follow-up, including sample prescriptions and concise drug monographs, are included. It also includes 95 Lesions, and 5 Lesions. New to this Edition are: Pericoronitis; Graft-Versus-Host Disease; Dermoid Cyst; Bisphosphonate-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaws; Angioedema; 219 Color Photographs; Expanded Sample Prescription Section; New Antibiotic Prophylaxis-Preprocedural Guidelines for Dental Patients; Alphabetical Index; and, Anatomic Site Index.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent general diagnostic tool..., May 09, 2009
By Stu (Las Vegas, NV)
As a great overview of the common soft tissue diseases, this reference manual has an excellent lay-out according to specific diagnostic categories of lesions. Each category gives great general information from common name to etiology and excellent color images. They also give a great diagnostic process which should be utilized in everyday practice anyway. I give it a "10" as an excellent reference guide for the most common oral lesions and how to identify them. This is great for the general dentist. If you are looking for something more comprehensive, get yourself an encyclopedia of oral lesions.
